Cvent Event Management is a cloud-based solution that helps midsize organizations and enterprises with venue sourcing, online event registration, budget management and payment processing. The solution enables event planners to track the attendance of multiple events and capture relevant data.

Cvent Event Management enables event managers to create event calendars where attendees can view upcoming events as well as sync them with their calendars. The solution provides budget management capabilities that track funds across multiple events, calculate each meeting spend and overall variable costs.

Cvent Event Management has a reporting feature, which offers built-in reports and also allows users to create customized reports. The data from all reports can also be exported. Other features offered by the tool include custom event websites, contact management, mobile websites and social sharing. Cvent offers integration with other third-party applications, which include Salesforce, Concur, Marketo and Eloqua.

Pros

It has lots of features that you may or may not want to use. Having them available and tied together make it great for our attendees

Cons

The biggest downer is having to play by Apple's rules causes us to not use it as our with our on "wrapper". So we end up selling Cvent while selling our own events.

Cant register for an event

Companies with this level of support (e.g. cvent and facebook) should not be in business.

Pros

sounds like it should be good. They talk a good game, but it is a lie for them to say "Help is just a click away"

Cons

Doesn't allow me to register for an event. Error codes for several days now. Went to support where it says "Help is just a click away", 10 minutes and 30 clicks later in their maze to avoid interaction and I finally called only to be put on hold for many minutes. I hung up.

worst CX I have had in a long time.

This is only for a 3 month campaign... after that I am rid of them
I will never need to speak to them again... ever.

Cons

the tracking doesn't work... don't believe them
Mis selling - anything to close the deal
Client success abandoned us before they had ironed out any details.

Pros

Cvent has great functionality. It registers and checks in event attendees, it is tech friendly with QR codes to register people. It manages the financial transactions, helps with seating charts and is very effective for really large events.

Cons

It is pretty expensive and the initial quote always ends up exceeding value. The customer service is not very reliable, i never get straight answers because it has to do with an added fee to reburse registrants or an added fee for analytic functionality.

Great Product for Looking up Venues

This is a great program that we have been using for 5 years and will hopefully continue to work with them in years to come. We are even looking into using their event app for our next big conference.

Pros

We do a lot of meetings throughout the year, and Cvent is the quickest way that we hear back from hotels. I usually can get a response from all the hotels within a week. I also like to use Cvent for Event Registration. It is a great program to keep track of attendees.

Cons

The only problem is that when creating your Event Registration there is not a lot of flexibility for sub questions that need to be answered when attendees are registering.

Our experience has been very positive. Our account manager is fantastic and was extremely helpful during our onboarding phase. We do a lot of out-of-the-box things in our registrations and have learned how to work the system to accommodate them.

Pros

Because Cvent has been around for so long and is constantly developing and improving, the system is very robust and can handle most event registration and reporting needs.

Cons

The learning curve for the Standard event registration was pretty long, but since they are in the midst of releasing their new Flex events, that should reduce it for new users.

The customer service is very, very good as are the account managers. It just wasn't a good fit for multiple users who only use the platform a few times a year.

Pros

Cvent can do nearly everything you would want from an event software.

Cons

Cvent is really hard to learn and if you don't use it regularly, you "lose" your skill. It also has a dated appearance, both behind the scenes and on the attendee-facing side. It's also a more expensive platform.

We use it for event management purposes, it gives us the ability to customize a lot of fields in the registration process. For example, when we need to have different attendee levels so that the on site registration process provides different information at check-in. It does what we need it to do and we will continue using it.

Pros

Cvent does everything we need to manage large scale events from 20 people up to 15,000. We use it in many different ways - everything from setting up the registration websites, managing attendees, travel, etc. We also use their reporting functionality and do a lot of analysis so that we can provide more innovative solutions for our clients.

Cons

It does not create the most beautiful registration websites, so we do need to have a web development team that can do a more robust build when requested by our clients.

I don't have any major complaints with Cvent.

Pros

I like that a lot of the features are customizable.

Cons

There are certain functionalities that could be improved, and there are some glitches. For example, it isn't possible to remove hotel information from the Orders and Payments page, even if the hotel request was removed completely.

Overall, this was not a great platform for our company and we ended up not re-signing our contract. It was challenging software for people to learn and adopt, and folks were generally not happy with the output - sites looked a bit dated and not modern. Additionally, customer support at cvent wasn't ideal for us either.

Pros

Cvent is incredibly robust software. It has lots of functionality, but it isn't particularly easy to use. The customization options are endless.

Cons

Unless you have a person(s) dedicated to fulyl learning the software and being the only one(s) to use it, this software is quite difficult to learn and adapt for the 'everyday' user. As I mentioned, it has tons of functionality and customization options. However, finding/navigating to these options is not simple and the endless options aren't easy for someone to understand unless they are immersed in a tech role.

We have truly enjoyed using Cvent as our primary registration management tool for our Regional events and annual conferences. Reporting and communication tools have allowed us to interact with participants in new ways while further allowing us to respond to shifting trends or needs across our global events.

Pros

- We love the supplier network and ease of sending/receiving RFPs and responses.
- Excellent reporting features for data management
- On-site badge printing and check-in removes the fear of rushes and the need for temporary registration staff.

Cons

- Over customization for our builds has made integration with other softwares more difficult
- Limited to 10 participants per group for group registration
- Difficult to format emails/websites if you have no experience in Html/CSS

Overall, Cvent is a complete event/conference app. There could be little tweaks to make it more efficient, but it does what it needs to to get the job done.

Pros

I love that it does do everything from start to finish (registration, payment, reports, etc). If you just want the basics, it's fairly easy to use.

Cons

The reporting isn't the best. I tend to have to run very broad reports and filter it down manually instead of Cvent having those options available to me.

I really like how I can create templates and use those to basically send mass mailings with invite links to register people for our monthly events. We can then easily manage who has signed up for our event and who has not and act accordingly. This is huge for events that sometimes have hundreds of people. The interface is really easy to use once you get it initially setup for your particular needs and there are a lot of features that we haven't even tapped into because we don't personally need all of them. But this program cuts down on hours and even days of manual work that we used to have to do.

Cons

Well this is very expensive. If our company did not have a fairly decent budget for our event planning we would not be able to afford this program on an annual basis.

Cvent is definitely a handy product that keeps us connected with many partners and their deals. Up to now we had many inquiries and rarely a realized deal, but definitely there is a huge potential in this product.
Perhaps if we organize the setup completely we would get better results, but since MICE is not our main market- the setup will be done in due time.

It is rather complicated, and many times we would get stuck in the middle of the offer - and all data entered....

Cvent has been a lifesaver for our small team and has removed much of the busywork and hassle that normally comes with event planning.

Pros

If you have even a few events per year, I can't recommend Cvent enough. Events are a hurricane of stress to plan for and manage. We have a smaller team and it all usually falls on just one of us to plan any given event. It's a massive amount of work, but Cvent has removed much of the paperwork, filing, spreadsheets and all the other headaches we usually get. We can manage everything from a single source which has saved us a ton of time, effort, and money. We love it!

Cons

Learning was a bit difficult, and I wish there were few more allowable choices/options in survey and questionnaire creation.

I believe it can be of value, but I have not had a good experience at either venue where I've tried to use this software. Perhaps it is better since the last time and I will try it again. But I'm not looking forward to it.

Pros

Should bring my event together for me on the app on my phone.

Cons

It just made me working harder to keep the event manageable. I was forced to print everything out I had arranged and produce a binder...I wasn't going to enter all the data on my phone again.
