Dayforce is a global human capital management (HCM) platform. It unifies data from across the entire employee lifecycle. Dayforce is a comprehensive cloud platform that combines HR, payroll, benefits, workforce management, and talent management in a single application. The scalable platform is built with a single, flexible rules engine combined with real-time updates and calculations that help address complex regulatory requirements.

Pay is calculated continuously throughout the pay period. Data is stored in a single, central location and can provide data-driven insights across all HR functions. Dayforce can be accessed using any device on web or mobile.

Nothing. There is nothing this program does that another program cant do better. Manager functions on the app are nonexistent. All managerial work must be done on a computer. Even on a computer, they're impossible!

Cons

It is counterintuitive. Generally, a pain in the butt. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU OWN A RESTAURANT! It wont help you with anything. Any money you save in labor, will inevitably be spent on figuring out how to use it. Even then, then, you will be disappointed.

Easy to implement from other products, especially ADP Vantage. All features are straight forward and ease to use.

there are many good features, I do not know it is a cons, but since it has too many good features, it is little hard to remember all good features.

Not Much good to say as a user. The interface looks nice, but is not user friendly. Not sure it is worth the integration.

Cons

Confusing wording. Constant alerts that you have to delete (who needs another inbox)? When you open the software, a pop up blocks the item you are trying to use (crazy). During pay period lockdowns, you can't do anything but still get reminders and alerts. Worse EVERY TIME YOU LEAVE IT SAYS YOU MIGHT LOSE YOUR WORK even though there is no save button.... what are you supposed to do? Leave it open and worry all the time?

Cons

getting support can take several days or weeks unless it is super urgent (related to payroll). You are able to rank the priority (1-5), however, Dayforce can lower the priority (from a 5 to a 4) if not a production impact (e.g. payroll related).

Cons

I LOVE the system! We just went through the Thomas fire in Southern California and without this system we would not have been able to communicate with our staff. While we were being evacuated, I was trying to send payroll and if we were still with ADP we never would have been able to. I would have had 750 employees that were evacuated, some had lost everything and they would not have gotten paid. Dayforce literally saved the day for everyone. We were closed for 5 weeks and without the messaging capability through Dayforce, we wouldn't have been able to communicate with our staff. I was able to check on employees and answer questions while I too was evacuated. The system gave us some relief in a time that was scary, emotionally draining and stressful. The gratitude I have for making this switch from ADP to Ceridian before the fire happened, can't be put into words. Other payroll professionals will know the stress of not being able to send a payroll, but in the worst time for me I did not have that stress. The system offers so much and no other Payroll & HR software provider even comes close.

Pros

Robust system, everything is in 1, constantly enhancing the system, Insights conference is AMAZING, XOXO website lets you communicate with other customers and is hands down a game changer

Cons

Because the system is so robust, the implementation is hard, reporting is outdated and formatting is not the best.

Ceridian Dayforce has helped our 4500+ employee company go from being bogged down by 90% paper to less than 5% paper which has been a huge cost and time savings. This is just one of the benefits of this amazing software.

Pros

That it is an all-in-one system that processes data in real-time... we are able to process a more accurate payroll and daily onsite checks.

Cons

They are moving off of Silverlight and onto HTML which seems to run a little bit slower than Silverlight. I am hoping that this will be solved when all module are running in HTML.

This software has a ton of potential, especially if you're willing to do the hard culture-change work that will be required to maximize it. However, if you aren't going to capitalize on the features, you'd very likely be better off with something a little less feature-heavy and more user-friendly. I would have loved to capitalize on the report creation features to benefit my company, however they are reserved for the highest admin level and therefore are privileges not easily granted.

Dayforce is much easier to navigate from an end user perspective, so training the field on authorizing schedules, time sheets, time away from work, and any kind of employment form (promotions, terminations, ect.) was successful at my organization. I think having a system that is simple to use has really helped us to increase our payroll accuracy across the organization since the field is more willing to be engaged.

Cons

The fact that some of their modules still use MS Silverlight, which means my browser choices are limited when working in the system.

With a thorough implementation process and the right amount of training, this software has been beneficial to our organization to improving our processes and switching to paper free.

Pros

We have switched from paper timesheets that were keyed by payroll staff to now employees enter their data into the software. The timesheets in the software are then easily reviewed and approved by managers before being processed by payroll staff. Our employee count has grown substantially over the past few years and we have managed to keep the payroll team small by switching to Dayforce.

Cons

There are areas of the software that are not very user friendly. Without completing a training webinar, it is very difficult or impossible to figure it out on your own and complete the required steps with accuracy.

I have been very enthusiastic about Dayforce from the moment I began my work that utilized this software. I've had no issues with this software and hope other companies get one board!

Pros

I can view my work schedule as it is posted right from the app on my phone. I can also make time off requests, view my next pay date, my next scheduled shift, view my availability, and my earnings, all in one place. There isn't much you can't do with this software and the visual presentation is well organized and appealing to workers of any age!

Cons

I wish there was a feature to view the rest of the staff's schedule as an employee so I could know who I could potentially trade shifts with if something comes up, but other than that I love this software!

Clocking in and out, checking my stub, benefits, time was easy to keep up with and navigate to. Having all of those tools and information on one sight is so helpful and less time.

Overall I really like the interface and the ability to suspend a job ie. Lunch breaks and keeps accurate record of vacation days. Excellent for remote employees, improvement over their competition Humanity's Shiftplanner. Highly recommend

Simple, easy to use and understand interface for employees. Great in keeping track of paid sick leave and holiday pay. Can utilize GPS data for clock in times for remote employees.

Cons

If you are using the system remotely, you need to be sure for adequate cell signal or WiFi connection to be able to clock in and out. I do not believe there is a way to clock in offline and have it upload when connection resumes

Dayforce is the best employee scheduling software I have ever experienced. Not only does it allow you to schedule your employees, but they can also post a shift they need covered or trade with specific others. The admin then gets to approve any changes.

This software is all encompassing - It has so many intuitive functions! We use it primarily for on-boarding, recruitment, payroll, scheduling, and time clocks. We have only scratched the surface of what this software can do. We are especially pleased that after switching to this software we have been able to shave an entire work day off of our payroll processing.

Cons

The initial roll out was lengthy and there are still some software kinks we are trying to work out. Sometimes customer support isn't always has helpful as we would like, and can take a bit to get us answers or troubleshooting directions.

Dayforce is a good management software that our company uses to track employees.

Pros

Dayforce is a useful tool for employee management. I am a weekly user of this software, as it tracks my vacation, benefits, payroll, etc. It is very useful to go in to book my vacations, and to track what I have used in previous years. Once you have requested time off (whether it be for vacation, sick time or personal time), it then gets sent to my manager, who then approves it. It is then automatically logged and all parties know how many days of vacation I have left.

Cons

This software is quick and easy to use! It is intuitive and does not require much work to learn.

I worked at a different company prior to being here and when i found out they also had Dayforce I was very excited. It is very easy to use as an employee and also as a manager. I have been able to work at both ends. As an employee, having the ability to make request on the computer was simple. Checking and approving my time was a great bonus so I am always assured I get paid the correct amount. If there was an error, I can just do it then and it will notify my supervisor.

Cons

At the start I thought it would be complicated. From using a punch clock to now the computer. It took me some time to learn but after it was so easy.

worked hours are logged and kept in a system, removes filling out paperwork for time off requests.

Pros

data management of hours work, vacation earned and banked and lieu hours. You are able to request days off on your virtual calendar which is then approved by your manager. Soft copies of your pay stub.

Cons

you have to scan in and out this is how they capture your time. sometimes the vacation earned is not up to date. Does not send notifications when a manager approves your time off request. If you make a mistake or change your date of your time off request after it has been submitted, it has to then be approved by your manager again before you can change it, this can be tedious.

Much better functionality than the last Ceridian HR system we were using. Very modern, very user-friendly and encourages the self-serve functionality for clients.

Pros

What I like most about this software is that it's more user-friendly and can be built to suit the client/organization's needs. It's definitely more modern and more progressive in its functionality. Also the fact that everything is (or can be) paperless, is great as well.

Cons

The reporting and formatting of Dayforce reports can sometimes be frustrating to work with and not that visually appealing. The system can be glitchy at times with updates being pushed through - although customer support is great. Silverlight tends to crash regularly, but this won't be an issue in the future once Dayforce moves away from Silverlight.

I've only used Ceridian's Dayforce software for a few weeks, but so far, I love the ability to go in and change my personal information without having to contact someone on our HR team. I also love the ability to go in and request my PTO without having to e-mail my supervisor directly.

Cons

I am a relatively new user and have not used Ceridian's Dayforce software long enough to come up with any particular cons.

It was a convenient way to see my hours and my earnings at work. It was easy to see important information quickly and conveniently.

Pros

The application is super simple and easy to use. The sign-up is based on the information provided by managers and once logged in, the application is secure and has a easy to use interface. The work calendar is simple and shows what the schedule is and what the employee's shift is. Every action in the app makes sense and the menus are descriptive to what they do.

Cons

The manager has to properly setup Dayforce or the application is essentially useless. The application is basic and has the necessary features, but it is missing customization for more advanced setups. The application is missing push notifications for important reminders and requires an outside calendar application for reminders.

Employee Time Management

Pros

Easy usage. Time schedules are easily viewable. Allows employee to easily request time off and view vacation balances.

Cons

Some things could be added via the software such as disputing time clock issues or notifications once time is approved or denied.

Pros

The customer service is very helpful and fast to respond. The concept of an all in one system works very well as no need to reconcile over differing programs (for example time into payroll).

Cons

Upgrades can become frustrating when they don't work as anticipated. The all in one system is good, but you have to have a solid understanding of security protocols to ensure the correct people see the correct information.
