GoHire is a cloud-based human resource management (HRM) solution that helps owners, managers and HR departments in the service industry to manage various recruitment related activities such as employee onboarding, applicant tracking and more.

GoHire is suitable for single stores as well as companies with multiple locations and provides a job-template library and one-click advertising to a variety of job boards, putting open positions for public view.

GoHire identifies the suitable applicants based on job-specific screening questions. Users can choose the scale of importance for each question to further filter the talent pool that helps hiring managers to interview the people who meet the job’s qualifications. Candidate-specific activity logs, notes and communications create a diary of information available for reference at all times. GoHire automatically runs background checks, E-verify and processes direct deposits and screening for tax credit opportunities. The new-hire documents are completed online and stored in a central repository.

Great tool for businesses with staff who need to be on the field most of the time using the app. Scheduling and task assignments are very easy to use. The app is very integrated with other apps including calendar amd contacts, and it has a very comprehensive reporting tool.

Cons

Just like any software, it works well for some and it does not for others; with this one however you dont get a trail version so make sure it fulfills all your needs before making the decision.

There are so many features to talk about I could write a book. It took me less time to right schedules, forecasting gave me an idea how many employees Id need at given areas around the restaurant and really left the guess work out of it.

Pros

Ties in with inventory and POS software to establish patterns in business and gives you Forecasting on volume of business to help with your scheduling needs.

Cons

Its expensive. Especially if you want all the major features. But you get what you pay for. If you can afford it, its worth the leap.

I like that it is easy to access my work schedule just with the click of a button on my iphone. It mostly works like any other app.

Cons

I have noticed that sometimes it can take a little while for things to update, life if a shift has been dropped or picked up. Sometimes the action doesn't post at all and I have to try again.

All around great product to use in a restaurant with many shifts and employees.

Pros

I loved the feature of swapping shifts with other coworkers. It was very user friendly and provided great solutions for when I was a server at a very busy restaurant.

Cons

I don't remember there being very many cons to this system. I do, however remember getting a lot of notifications on my cell phone which is something each individual user can change on the features of the app on their phone.

HotSchedules is a great way to keep track of your work week!

I used HotSchedules for two years while serving and loved the idea where you can swap, add and release shifts if desired.

Pros

I like that you can see your schedule for the week laid out in one spreadsheet. I also like that it gives you the option to do group messages with all of your coworkers and swap shifts if needed. This software offers a lot for your work scheduling and helps you stay organized and be flexible when you need to be.

Cons

I do not like that you have to pay for the app. I also do not like how hard it is to find someone's contact on the app and then be able to copy something like an email address or phone number. I wish HotSchedules also had a better notifications system in place.

This was a great system to work with and it is highly recommended for anyone who is just looking for a basic scheduling system. I honestly didn't have any issues with this system. Once it went down and we all needed new passwords.

Pros

Using hotschedules really helps restaurant employees easily access their schedules.

Pros

As a server you can easily pick up an available shift that someone else can't work, and also release/post a shift that you cannot work in order for someone else to grab it.

Cons

Sometimes it is difficult knowing where to go in order to find out certain information, such as if somone sends out a message for all employees to see, but for some reason I won't be able to locate where to see the message.

What I enjoy about hot schedules is two fold. One as a training manager I can easily set this up with the schoox LMS. So any new employee added to hot schedules automatically gets assigned their courses within schoox. This makes it easier for restaurant managers to train their staff without any support from training furthermore, it allows them to personally control their schedules without needing to worry about how training/restaurant will communicate with one another.

Outside of the learning component, hot schedules are easy to use and it offers a color coded scheduler designed to easily help you manager your daily or weekly schedules.

HotSchedules will change the culture of your restaurant, it really is one of the best software programs I've ever used. Employees can make requests to work or take off, release, swap, or pick up shifts, and send messages. The app is very easy to use and for anyone who doesn't have a smartphone the website is great or a manager can quickly print anyone's schedule. Everything is super customizable for manager's writing the schedule and for employees. Invest in this program, it's great.

I enjoy using HotSchedules, it just constantly lags and takes its time (I'm assuming because we have so many employees), but overall it's helpful in communicating with staff.

Hotschedules in Miami Beach!

We implemented hot schedules about 1 year ago into our restaurant group. We have 3 outlets in Miami Beach and really needed a scheduling solution. Hot schedules is great, as it syncs with multiple operating systems and is very user-friendly for both management and staff.

Pros

My favorite feature is the vacation request and availability block option. We have a lot of students who work for us whose schedule we need to work around. This option makes scheduling around these constraints easy. Their platform is basic which leads to functionality and usefulness.

Cons

The only con is that they have not yet built out an HR system. Synching hot schedules with these platforms can be annoying, I hope they develop solutions for this soon!

Advice to Others

I would advise to strongly consider HS. My only advice would be to see if it could sync with your other current platforms so you can get maximum usability!

Hot-schedules has so many features it's a little daunting at first. But their projection software, integration with the restaurant's software is amazing. Hot-schedules will help you write a schedule that optimizes when you need you need your people on, and when you can get them out of there.

Pros

-Easy shift scheduling
-Clear availability scheduling
-Great messaging system

Cons

-Cost is a little high, but you really do get what you pay for.

Advice to Others

If you are trying to save money on labor, let hot-schedules do the work for you. It will show you when your busiest times are and will help you predict upcoming trends to stay ahead of the curve.

Overall, not too bad. Could have been better. For what you pay, I expected a bit more functionality. Cannot leave notes on staff or update different training tiers that they have completed. We have recently switched our scheduling platform.

Pros

Software makes scheduling easy for me and for my staff. Staff can request off time which managers have to approve. Our rep was able to customize some things for us, which is great! We spent a LOT of time trying to customize things for how we operated.

Cons

Pricey, for what you get. Staff have the option to "Request time off" and "Request unpaid time off"...one sends me a notification, one does not. Not sure why?

Overall its very good. I don't have much issue with it, but the UI could be definitely be better.

Pros

Hotschedules won our business by having the best Aloha POS integration of all the companies we spoke with. Employees that are added to our system are automatically synced with Hotschedules so you can quickly begin adding them to the schedule. The integration also allows us to restrict employees from clocking in too early or late with saves labor and allows you to quickly identify the less punctual employees. Finally, the integration also pulls historical sales data from our POS and uses it to establish a good sales forecast that you can use to budget your labor accurately.

Cons

The app and website are just not as intuitive and streamline as I would like. Previously we had used PeopleMatter schedule, which had a much less cluttered and more user friendly interface. Hotschedules also starts to think it knows how to schedule better than the manager and will start adding "House Shifts" to your schedule that employees can pick up, which frustrates me when I really don't need that shift covered.

Pros

I love using this program to see my work schedule, make changes to availability, add time off and switch days off. This is so easy to use and really helps me stay organized on the go!

Cons

I've had issues when in putting days off requests. They go through on the employer end but it still looks like I'm in limbo on my end.

I like how the software has a simple interface for me to post schedules and how it is integrated with my jobs to show a forecast for sales and the amount of labor that needs to be deployed.

Cons

The software sometimes has connectivity issues that I must troubleshoot for my workers. The issues are usually easily to troubleshoot, but I think the bugs can be fix.
