ShiftPlanning is a cloud-based workforce management and employee scheduling solution that helps managers to communicate with their employees as well as manage project schedules, documentation and payroll. It caters to clients across various segments such as technology, transport, e-commerce and service.

ShiftPlanning is composed of four key modules viz. scheduling, time clock, payroll and human resource. The scheduling feature allows users to automatically create schedules as well as import schedules from third-party applications.

The time clock module allows managers to track and control employee check-ins and check-outs. The payroll module allows for processing payrolls based on employee timesheets which can be pulled out in real-time and exported for further analysis. The solution also keeps track of human resources (HR) documentation, training and vacation days for employees and more. The solution offers API framework and integrates with third-party calendar management applications.

Best shift planning application on the market. The convenience helps you get schedules done in half the time.

Pros

You can adjust multiple schedules in the same window. As soon as you complete your schedules they automatically email to the employee after you finalize.

Cons

Some lag when you switch sections. No undo button. You can accidentally copy all your schedules at once. It'll double everything up and you'll have to manually erase everything and start over. At least on the ones that aren't finalized. ( just pay attention)

The layout of humanity is very simple. There are multiple reports you can pull to verify time entries.

Cons

The steps you have to go through to fix an employees time is ridiculous. You have to click multiple boxes each time you fix an individual employees time.

Pros

Humanity allows you to view multiple weeks at a time. You can also clock in or out for a shift remotely by accessing your location.

Cons

It is difficult to edit or revise your time clock via Humanity. It has also wiped the time sheet in the past.

I would recommend this to anybody keep up the good work!

Pros

That the steps are so simple to overcome when there's a problem. Whenever i needed to fix or correct a shift or extend job info, the steps and process was very easy.

Cons

I have no dislikes about the product. There are very few issues and when they occur, it almost feels like they resolve fast.

Easy to keep track of employees shifts. Can list hundreds of different projects and hundreds of employees with many variables on how you can view this information. Keeps you really well organized.

Cons

Sometimes the settings can be confusing as there are a lot of different variations of settings. Also having multiple logins, the settings are confusing.

Cons

Not all of the "functions" are where I would expect them to be, but once I learned my way around the website, it's easy to use.

I manage a work study staff of 30+ students at a small college. Their work study job is not their first priority so availability, priorities, and their schedules are always changing. It's really nice to have a software to manage much of the administrative side of things. I upload the availability, spend an initial investment creating the schedule. If I have done my job correctly things pretty much run themselves throughout the rest of the semester.

Pros

Ease of updating availability for employees. Clearly seeing how many people can cover what shift. Ability for employees to drop, add, or trade shifts without me micro managing. Creating multiple classification of jobs to organize the different roles in the work place. Reporting makes it easy to submit to payroll.

Cons

The billing is a bit confusing. They bill based off of per user per month. With breaks and a rotating staff I often end up challenging the original bill I get. Customer service has always been good and responds quickly and makes changes.

As User and not an Administrator, I would say that what I like best about this software is that it is user friendly. It makes picking up shifts for my job easy. And I like that I get notifications when there is availability.
When I schedule myself a for a shift and I have had to drop a shift when something comes up or I accidentially pick a shift that I cannot work. I can immediately notify my supervisors, and it will make the shift available to others to pick up.
I love that management can communicate with us and tell us what is going on. We can share and download files.
This is the perfect program for the company that I currently am working with.

Cons

It has been hard to find something i really dont like about Humanity. Although I would like the ability to message my supervisor or coworkers through the app rather than email.

This application is easy to understand and to use. The front end process of loading participants is time consuming but easy to do. The ability of team members to access their schedules in one web based app is appealing and the application seems secure from both internal and external threats.

Cons

The app is useful for straightforward scheduling but complex-overlapping shifts or coverage by the same entity in more than one role is not well supported. You could create a workaround by assigning pseudonyms for secondary roles but there are probably better suited applications of you need this level of complexity

It is what it is... shift planning. Nothing more, nothing less. It's notification features are robust as it includes email and text reminders, which is a plus if the shifts vary often for each person.

Cons

Feels like we have to get another software for a specific need... I'm the kind that prefer to have less software doing more work so less places for me to go to.

I've used Humanity with Lyft and my current temp job and so far so good.

Pros

I love how easy this software is to use and how I can access everything that I need to whether that be my schedule, message board or managers.

Cons

There's nothing that I don't like about this software. I do wish though that at the end of each work week that it would tally up your hours worked for you.

Overall Humanity is a decent enough software that has a few issues to be worked out like any other software. It's a very good tool for employers who have very large numbers of employees.

Pros

This software is used by Loft 310 in the entertainment district where I worked with executive chef . I liked the ability to check and confirm shifts while being able to keep track of my hours

Cons

What I don't like about this app is that there are some functions like messaging co workers, you cannot do. You have to log into the website. If they were able to combine all functions through the app itself, I would have no complaints

I work as a delivery driver, and our work is pretty solitary. With Humanity I don't have to call in to work to as for available shift hours, I can just simply log into Humanity to see any that need to be picked up and pick them up from the software itself.

Pros

I love the ease of seeing my shift schedule, and being able to see open shifts that I could take.

Cons

I really have no cons regarding this software. It works as intended.

A great company to work with and a great tool

Pros

We moved to this product over another because of the additional features. It is so much easier to schedule large number of employees with very unique shift requirements. It handles it great.

Cons

Some of the reporting didn't work initially for our unique circumstances. They have been good to try new things, but it still isn't a 100%.

I've used Humanity (Shiftplanning) just for clocking-in and clocking-out each day. It's not very easy to edit mistaken entries, and even more difficult to figure out what the icons mean, and what effect they'll have on my time entries. This is pretty important to have right, since this is how I (and presumably anyone who uses this software) gets paid.

Pros

I like the app (Humanity 01) usability and ease to clock-in and clock-out.

Cons

The software in general is cumbersome and a bit confusing. There are two apps, and the old version seems to work better for my needs. The new app seems to be specific to those who have different "shifts" each day. This seems great for those who need that option, but takes the simplicity away.

Makes scheduling simple and requires less effort on the employers as employees can enter their own availability and leave requests. It syncs nicely with google calendar and makes scheduling easier. Employees can easily view their schedules from their mobile device.

Cons

The app doesn’t always work and there has been times when availability was submitted through the app but not recorded by the software. Also, it was a bit difficult to get the hang of in the beginning but becomes easier with use.
