Bill.com is a cloud-based accounting solution specializing in billing and invoicing. With Bill.com, users can receive payments from clients, pay vendors and contractors and handle financial reporting.

Bill.com includes an accounts accounts payable module, where users can be invoiced electronically, or they can use drag-and-drop functionality to manually enter bills. Then, invoices may be sent to team members for review. Different payment methods, including ACH payments and paper checks, are available.

The solution also includes an accounts receivable module, which can send customers automated electronic invoices and reminders. As with the accounts payable module, users can choose the method by which they would like to receive payments: via ePayment, ACH, credit card or PayPal.

Bill.com is integrable with other accounting solutions such as QuickBooks, Xero and Intacct. Users can handle customer support through the app, answering customer questions using a notes and comments feature.

The solution is priced per user per month.

Bill.Com is a cheap software, but good for certain situations

They contacted my client DIRECTLY!

Nothing! They misrepresent themselves and lie about what they are doing. They need new salespeople or need to let the ones they have know that this will not increase sales. I'm reporting them to Quickbooks Online

Cons

I was only researching the software for a client through Quickbooks Online. My client and I decided it was too expensive and there are other payment services that are more effective so we decided to not download the product. Today, however, someone from Bill.com called my client directly at his place of business and tried to pressure him into purchasing. He misrepresented himself by saying that he 'works with me' and that was why he was calling! It totally jeopardized my relationship with my client! I'm horrified by these practices.

Poor Customer Service

When we used this software to pay vendors, they disliked the set-up greatly and most of them ended up asking us not to send money via BIll.com. Their customer service team offers generic responses to complex questions, and this is frustrating.

Pros

The program was easy to implement for A/P use.

Cons

Our customers did not like the lack of support the website offered.

WORKS GOOD UNTIL YOU ACTUALLY HAVE A TECHNICAL ISSUE AND NEED TO CONTACT SOMEONE. THEN IT GOES SIDEWAYS QUICKLY.

Stay Away it's a total SCAM!

Pros

We used their service to pay our company office rent for a few months. Nothing really special... Simple ACH, I would have used just a bank ACH if it was my choise.

Cons

Support and the way they treat their customers.
First of all, it's super hard to contact their support I submitted 3 tickets and it took 3 days to finally get someone to respond to me....

We are leasing the office space from the company that was using Bill.com to accept payments for their bills, therefore we were forced to use bill.com to pay our monthly office rent. Everything was ok... Then the company we paid for the rent switched to using Xero since it doesn't really make sent to pay ridiculous amounts for bill.com.
Anyway.. for us, it was even better because now we didn't need to pay bill.com subscription fees to just pay for the rent (simple ACH). So we went ahead and canceled our subscription with bill.com in August.
A few months later (in October) I noticed that they were still charging our credit card and as I mentioned above it took 3 days to get someone to finally respond to our support tickets.
What I asked for was simply refund the last 3 charges (Oct, Sept, Aug) and close our account simply because their system failed to cancel it in the first attempt. Simple right? Nope, not with Bill.com

They had someone to call me and tried to explain that they didn't see my first request to cancel and if I didn't use their service since August it was my problem and that evidence that I didn't even log in to their service for 3 months is not enough for them to refund.

So my advice to you, if you ever thought to use bill.com for your business, please stay away!

Getting help is painful

It's not great. We use bill.com to invoice our customers. 60% of our client base has complained about the experience with bill.com because setting up accounts is not intuitive, and clients often times have set up different kinds of accounts by accident then feel harassed by reminder emails which state they haven't paid an invoice, even though they are marked as "paid" on our end. We paid a hefty API integration fee in an effort to host all of these invoices in our own system so that our customers wouldn't have to interact with bill.com. However, now we are facing a whole new set of challenges trying to gather information from bill.com that isn't exposed, but is integral in making the integration successful... then trigger days and days of frustration with support to get about 60% of the information that we need.

The ease of creating and tracking invoices

Cons

Trying to work with support actually ruins my day. The only way you can talk to a human on the phone is by scheduling a phone call. Every time I have done that we've had issues connecting and there's no number you can call. I also feel like every time I reach out to support via chat or email I get a completely different level of information and service. Sometimes they give you what you need right away, other times they say they can't provide you with that information you need to jump through additional XYZ hoops.

Good software for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

Great software that helped our company's AP dept go paperless.

Pros

Bill.com is very easy to use. Great platform to digitally store all invoices and go paperless. Audit trail captures all transactions and dates which reduces the possibility of fraud. You can create approval chains and add/remove approvers to different invoices. Their customer service is top-notch. Their live chat reps are very helpful. Has the ability to sync with many popular accounting software (NetSuite, Quickbooks, Intact).

Cons

Syncing issues with NetSuite do occur from time to time but their customer support is very helpful in rectifying them. They recently updated their user interface and although it is more visually appealing than before, it doesn't function any better.

easy to use and set up, we trust the security and information they use. Once all accounts are setup, you can audit the easy to read statement they provide.

Bill is very good service. The console is very easy to use, technical support is very fast and the commission is not too high.

Cons

For me there are not many drawbacks, maybe only the console is not modern but it works very quickly and does not cause problems.

bill.com let my account get hacked

On July 1st 2018 bill.com called me to tell me that someone hacked my account and added their bank account info. A payment of $24,575.00 was scheduled to be received on July 5th. They cancelled the fraudulent account from my bill.com account but still wired the money to their account on July 5th. Two months later they still refuse to refund my money. I'm out 24,5k and they are doing nothing about it

Easily Billing System

Pros

The setting up process is really simple and easy. I always receive an verification email. I never have problems with payment. It's has proven to be simple and reliable, fast and that's the way it should be with receiving funds.

Cons

I don't have any dislikes with software. I would prefer to use bill.com due to the simplicity. I can't even think of any changes I would make to software.
