About Kubuntu

Kubuntu is an on-premise operating system that allows users to browse the internet, complete assignments, and live chat directly through the user interface. The system provides a productivity suite that comes with integrations to google calendars, email programs, RSS feeds, to-do lists, and more. Additionally, Kubuntu's built-in media player lets users download and play media files regardless of format and will download unreadable files that can be transcoded to load directly on the screen.

Pretty good OS for my 8yo laptop

It has been a very useful OS to give new live to old hardware, with minor upgrades like SSD and RAM the hardware will run like a fox.

Pros:

very stable, comes with a lot of useful apps, and software available. It works pretty fine with most online meeting apps (zoom, teams, webex)

Cons:

I had and issue with touchpad that was solved by modifiying some config file, unfortunately some hardware still may experience some minor problems with Linux based OS

Reasons for switching to Kubuntu

It was to slow and could not open more that two apps with 4 GB RAM

Kubuntu, un Ubuntu con KDE

Muy buena, posible usarlo desde el mismo momento que terminas la instalación al traer ya las aplicaciones más básicas pre-instaladas. Ubuntu con KDE es siempre una gran opción, aunque necesitas un equipo con unos requisitos mínimos algo exigentes.

Il mio Linux preferito da anni

Sono anni che lo impiego sia per divertimento che per lavoro. Vi sono bellissimi giochi gratuiti e possibilità di programmare gratuitamente e lavorare nello sviluppo software con praticamente ogni linguaggio di programmazione. Una validissima alternativa a Windows, grazie a un'interfaccia utente molto più flessibile.

Pros:

Le potenzialità infinite che offre di apprendimento del mondo Linux e della programmazione in generale

Cons:

Troppi driver ancora oggi non stanno al passo dei concorrenti di Microsoft e Apple, con ripercussioni non indifferenti sulla produttività aziendale. Per fare un esempio concreto, Blender funziona meglio su Windows che non su Kubuntu, per non parlare di UE4, Unity e Visual Studio.

Ubuntu con KDE

Una gran distribución para comenzar a usar Linux. Muy estable y con un bonito y completo escritorio como es KDE.Fácil de instalar, muy seguro y todo eso gratuito!

Todas las ventajas de Ubuntu pero con un escritorio tan completo y bonito como es KDE.La instalación es muy sencilla y ya instala las aplicaciones más básicas poder usarlo desde el primer momento. Las actualizaciones, al estar basado en Ubuntu, son bastante frecuentes y es muy sencillo mantenerlo actualizado.KDE, desde mi punto de vista, es uno de los mejores escritorios dentro de mundo Linux, bonito y con muchas opciones... y si aun así no te gusta lo puedes personalizar.

Cons:

KDE, aunque es muy bonito y completo, si consume más recurso que otros escritorios, por lo que si tienes un equipo con pocos recurso te recomiendo otra distribución.
