# Windows 11 User Reviews

## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.4/5
- Total reviews: 104

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Value for money: 4.2/5
- Functionality: 4.5/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 64 reviews (62%)
- 4 stars: 29 reviews (28%)
- 3 stars: 6 reviews (6%)
- 2 stars: 1 reviews (1%)
- 1 star: 4 reviews (4%)

### Most mentioned pros

- It eliminates that annoying manual "window shuffling" I used to do. Plus, since the system remembers those groups, I can dock or undock my laptop without my entire layout exploding—it just snaps right back to how I had it.
- However, as the OS has matured—especially with the recent 2026 updates—it has transformed into a remarkably stable and intelligent workspace.
- It feels like a mature, polished platform that focuses on keeping you in your flow rather than getting in your way with constant interruptions.

### Most mentioned cons

- The least helpful part of the OS is the aggressive push for integrated services and "badges" that are essentially just ads. Whether it’s pop-ups suggesting I switch to Edge, or "reminders" to subscribe to Microsoft 365, it can feel like the operating system is constantly trying to sell me something rather than just letting me work.
- This "split personality" between the modern Settings app and the old Control Panel makes navigation feel disjointed. Plus, the recent trend of buggy updates in 2026—where some patches have caused issues with cloud storage or even app crashes—makes me more hesitant to hit the "Update" button than I used to be.
- For example, the taskbar is now locked to the bottom of the screen, which is a massive headache if you’ve spent years working with it on the side or top.

Now days, either off the shelf for home or co figured for business with on-prem server or Intune, Windows is still the easiest system to deploy, and for gaming it's still typically a must for the best compatibility with the most games.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Easy to deploy, up to touchless with new Intune configuration. It's still a big industry standard for work as well and with the latest versions of OneDrive, you can sync your employee's important work files so if they have to work at another station or their computer dies, their work isn't gone.

#### Cons

There's time when you really need a Mac or if you don't want to pay for a license you could also go with a flavor of Linux. I haven't experienced something like a bad patch in so long though I can't speak poorly of that.

#### Pros

The new interface is very sophisticated and the animations are very smooth.

#### Cons

#### Reasons for switching to Windows 11

Because I wanted to test and compare how the new update was. And my new workplace required the latest windows version for better web development.

My old computer worked fine other than it slowing down I think primarily because of all the garbage Microsoft loaded in with every "update"

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 1/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 1/5

#### Pros

Nothing. Just seems to be a marketing upgrade for Microsoft. For basic day to day there is no advantage.

#### Cons

The cost and time to purchase and transfer information. By constantly sowing fear that windows 10 would put our computers at risk was nothing but a marketing ploy.

Overall windows 11 is easy to use and one of the globes leading operating system and as so makes my workflow easy.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Windows 11 is compatible with most if not all hardware on the market ranging from smart phones to printers, Keyboards, Mice and many more, and as a gamer no other operating system can be used as an alternative.

#### Cons

Windows is ram intensive compared to mac and Linux, it also is a paid operating system whist the others are free.

#### Reasons for switching to Windows 11

Windows is compatible with almost all hardware and in an office environment it was the better option from Linux due to the need of using printers that were not supported on Linux.

### Perfectly Usable!!

Overall Windows 11 is great operating system, hard to go wrong with it and if you require to use for some compatibility, it is not a pain to use like previous Windows versions, but there are many areas which can be improved substantially. The ARM version is also a great addition.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Windows 11 is good product and a definite upgrade from Windows 10, it was buggy when released but in 2025 it definitely seems like a polished modern operating system. Compared to the competition, mainly macOs and popular Linux distros, I like the look and feel of windows 11 better. The settings app rework from windows 10 was much needed, the rework of the look and feel as well as the animations was also much needed which got it on par with phones Os's as well as on par with macOs. Compatibility with applications is great and unmatched, as well as unparalleled support for games.

#### Cons

The overhead of windows 11 is huge, which eats into the performance of application or games. In terms with compatibility for hardware windows 11 is not bad, not as bad as MacOs of course, but not as good as windows 10 or Linux. Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 which renders older PC's unable to upgrade, and since Microsoft is pulling support for Windows 10, it will turn these machines into e-waste. In 2025, there still exists legacy menus in the interface, which are unnecessary and a hassle to use. Sleep wake and power settings are still a collosal mess, sometimes you put a laptop to sleep and after a while find the battery drained, which can be frustrating if you're expecting the opposite. Sleep and wake has been figured out by all other portable devices operating systems in 2025 except Microsoft.

Since I started using Windows 11, I haven't had any major issues adapting to it, apart from the time it took to get used to the icons. Other than that, I find this version more intuitive and user-friendly.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

The interface feels significantly more intuitive compared to previous versions; its design closely resembles that of a modern tablet, which greatly enhances the overall user experience by making navigation smoother, faster, and more visually accessible, even for those who are not particularly tech-savvy.

#### Cons

It differs from the classic Windows layout in terms of icon arrangement; it takes a bit of time to get used to it.

So right now I can do email because I use a cloud based browser, Chrome, which i had to download. I am missing Filemaker, which means I cannot do any database business. I am missing Wordpefect, which means I cannot do any word processing. I am missing the Block tax program. None of there are free programs. Even if I were to buy and install them, I would sti be missing my fonts. So I w il be basically off today until after the Geek tech comes over and takes a look. for $125/hour. I hope he can restore the damage. Otherwise we will have to spend a bundle to buy the missing programs and then configure them.

#### Cons

Here is what has happened with my computer:Sometime Friday night or Saturday morning (January 27-28, 2023), my computer downloaded a Windows 11 update. When I started work Saturday morning it said I had to restart the computer, so I did. When it was finished updating I had Windows with an unfamiliar desktop wallpaper. My Chrome browser was missing, so I had to download it again, then I noticed other changes: All of my files were gone, all of my programs (like Filemaker, Wordperfect, H&R Block, Scribus) were gone. There was no memory before January 28, no restore dates. I troubleshot as best as I could. It took all morning. I had a conversation with a BestBuy tech who said he could not find my files and it looked like my hard drive was wiped and replaced.Later on Saturday I found some, maybe all, of my files in a directory that was created on January 27 on the E drive. My pictures were there and some of my documents. I found Wordperfect in the driver file, but it was a setup program. When I tried to install it, my license was rejected as already used. So I aborted the setup. I did download and setup Scribus (a free program). It could not find any 'recent' scribus files to open, but I did on the E drive directory and moved one to the C drive. Scribus did open it, but it was a mess: myfonts are all gone so Arial was substituted for all of them missing fonts. None of the graphics were there--probably because they were moved by the update. See below for continuation

#### Reasons for choosing Windows 11

Until now we have been really happy with Windows products

#### Reasons for switching to Windows 11

We have been migrating in recent months to this new operating system and it has been positive in the sense that we have more modern and secure equipment in terms of updates and threats.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What I like most about this new Microsoft operating system is its modern and friendly interface and that it keeps up to date with updates, which makes it safer when it comes to any threat, also that it is more oriented to the end user and does not both technicians, which makes the end user feel more comfortable.

#### Cons

What I like least is that some options were changed in location, which at times is difficult to find, but it is something that little by little the user gets used to and learns.

#### Reasons for switching to Windows 11

Stay current and up-to-date with security and new system features

#### Pros

The style and look of Windows 11 is cool. And it is always nice to have a new interface. You can also customize it to look like Windows 10 if you desire and that is amazing. I also enjoy that it is free to use, you can use it without a license and you will only get a watermark on your screen.

#### Cons

Microsoft is trying really hard for it not to run on older hardware and that is not right. It should be available to all who want it, especially since they are not going to support Windows 10 after 2024. There are ways around it but it is so complicated for the average user who does not need to upgrade their computer. I am still not sure if it is worth upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I think you should run Windows 10 until they stop supporting it.

Overall it’s safe to say that Windows 11 is Microsoft’s best OS yet and it only keeps getting better.

#### Cons

While there are no major cons Windows 11 can definitely get better with a few more theme customisation options and bringing back Windows Vista style widgets! Would love to see hit happen someday!
