D2C Review

I have very good experience with D2C. Whenever I want to host multiple services, I come to D2C to simplify the process. What I would suggest is an additional service "Nginx + PHP" I cannot use Apache on my low RAM instances. Apache + PHP is consuming more RAM. I installed NGINX and PHP manually and I found it to be less resource hungry and smooth. I also use the same combination on my raspberry pi which had 1GB RAM. Why not put a service like "Wordpress" which manages the databases and server configuration(Apache or NGINX). I would definitely like that. Also, I didn't manage to include this in the cons of software but the open ports doesn't work fine sometimes. I don't know why. I manually accessed the AWS console and updated the security groups manually. Then everything was fine. Thank you.

Pros

The UI is good. And it has support with major cloud services. I, especially, like the UPCloud provider. Their Disk I/O has insane speeds!

Cons

While managing instances in AWS, sometimes I get an error while resizing the disk. Also, the setting up setting icon keeps on rotating but the task is not complete.

Has some potential, but there are some bugs that almost ruins everything

Pros

It's SUPER easy to use, also super fast to build/update services. Also, the "almost zero downtime" feature is a huge plus. It's a MUST for its price!

Cons

Queue sometimes hangs and you are left alone with an offline production database. I faced this three times during weekends, and this made my overall confidence in D2C's stability flunk. At the end of the day is a great tool with fast support, but needs to figure out some very amateur issues.

The past months our agency have improved our workflow a LOT thanks to D2C! Easy, fast and reliable!

Pros

* It's easy to deploy services and move/scale applications to new servers without having to re-configure everything - We can build our own "flavors" that we need to deploy over and over and we win HOURS of time - D2C comes up with new features and improvements every month which makes it an amazing product and service to work with

Cons

- There is a small learning curve, perhaps providing some more tutorials can help overcome that - I'm missing a few important features now that can make my daily job easier, but I'm confident those will follow in future releases

Best performance and features

Pros

They allow creating a robust infrastructure to manage high performance websites; Allow advanced VPS settings in a simple way. I managed to create my load balancer easily for a high traffic website. If you are in the payment plan, it allows you to easily create your stack un two clics to publish your site quickly, for example a WordPress site. otherwise you have to do some service settings manually.

Cons

If you require special or advanced support, enter an expensive hourly rate. It has a learning curve for all the characteristics that it integrates and allows to configure.

Reasons for Switching to D2C

I was looking for a platform that allowed advanced server configurations to optimize website load times.

A very good experience. Myself and customer support together solved an issue related to ssh with AWS

Straight to the point, It helped to get my job done in an easy and peaceful way. No banging the head to the wall !

Pros

I love the UI. It is so simple, clean and elegant. What I also appreciate is there is no need to install the client software's on instances manually and no need to mess up with open and closed ports. The setup happens swiftly without any errors.

Cons

It would be better if there is a lamp server option included instead of just Apache. Because only with Apache one can do nothing. We also need another language, example, PHP. So instead of just Apache, Apache+ PHP would be better.

It is a good tool

I learned that already has a lot of tools to help to build infrastructure

Pros

if you know well the tool, it can be useful and can save much time for the developers that common are making infrastructure

Cons

I think that the tool needs to have more user-friendly tips besides because only users with a lot of experience in the development, can understand easily the tool

Hello! Thanks for the review. Could you please explain your overall evaluation? In your pros, you say that you like the product, but the evaluation is quite low. Is that because of some difficulties? Can I make the demo for you to explain how to work with the product? Regards,
