About Keeper Security

Keeper is a cloud-based business security solution that offers multi-tenant password management and secure file storage. It offers a "zero-knowledge" security feature, which allows users only with access to the information being stored on the device and in the Keeper cloud security vault. The solution synchronizes with multiple devices and can be used by multiple users. It allows users to create high-strength random passwords. Users can make password policies and monitor password compliance with Keeper's dashboards, reporting, auditing and notifications.

Keeper provides mobile security and data loss prevention and is compatible with desktop computers and mobile devices. Key features include an IT admin console with password security enforcement, user provisioning, delegated administration and active directory integration.

The solution uses 256-bit AES encryption, PBKDF2 key generation, perfect forward secrecy and two-factor authentication. The platform works with businesses of all sizes to integrate security, privacy and internal controls. Pricing is both per month and per year.

Keeper Security for Password Management

I like Keeper Security because it is easy to use, secure and automatically fills in user name and passwords. It has a good password generation capability.

Pros:

I think it is more secure than other programs I have used. It has a nice visual user interface. It has a Google Chrome extension which can generate passwords.

Cons:

It does not have face recognition for use on my iPhone. Sometimes the Chrome Extension doesn't seem to work well.

Reasons for switching to Keeper Security

I was concerned 1Password had security breeches that have not been completely resolved. Keeper Secuirty is easier to use.

Pros:

Security and ease of use, and sharing of passwords across the team with only one member managing the changes.

Cons:

Daily 2FA on the mobile device. Also, the new popup to change passwords makes it harder to edit when certain sites have restrictions on which special characters one must use.

It is simple to use both phone and laptop. I like the ability to share passwords. It’s one of those programs that works well and anyone can use effectively.

Cons:

I maybe feel like I should update my password more often, and have a sense of comfort that if something should ever happen to me, my trusted next of kin could access my passwords.

Pros:

Keeper on the surface is a great product, ticks all the boxes including MSP resell support.

Cons:

The browser extension UI is very poor, its ability to just take over text fields that arent a email/username and password is second to none, in a bad way. Autofilling things that arent supposed to be even when autofill is turned off.

Keeper Security -PW Management Made Easy

Overall experience with Keeper has been very good. The product works well and is very flexible. By far, it is the most used application in my portfolio.

The most refreshing component of Keeper Security is simplicity. The application is laid out such that a user can figure out most activities withought a roadmap!

Cons:

Cost increases that are locked in on an annual basis that are levied and the only alternative is to abandon ship.

Pros:

Keeper is extremely secure and at the same time very user-friendly. What we appreciate the most is the ability to safely share login credentials within our team—no more sending passwords via email or chat. We gained full control over who has access to what, with the ability to revoke permissions instantly, which is a huge benefit in a business environment. Another major advantage is the wide range of integrations—whether via desktop, mobile, browser extensions, or through SSO and Google Workspace. Onboarding new employees is fast and intuitive.

Cons:

Some of the more advanced features are only available with higher-tier licenses, which may be discouraging for smaller teams. Also, the admin dashboard could be slightly more intuitive, especially when setting up roles, policies, and permissions—it took us a bit of time to get fully comfortable with it.

Best alternative for 1password and yet offer PAM features

keeper Just in time workflow approval still not yet release to public, keeper gateway seems to not able to deploy using app container, recommended method is deploy a VM then run docker.

It generally works OK but is somewhat difficult to use and not very friendly.

Cons:

I wish it allowed access for 3 days or a week. 24 hours is too short and 30 days is too long.

Regarding the logout timer functionality, you can customize your timer on the Browser Extension by going to Settings >> Security and selecting the number of minutes, hours or days you prefer. For mobile usage, go to Settings >> Auto Logout to select your desired timeframe. However, your organizations administrator can enforce restrictions on logout timers, so if these options aren't available to you, please check with your admin. For security reasons, we recommend setting a reasonable logout timer duration.
