My overall experience with ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus has been very good and a very useful product. It’s a reliable tool for centralised patch management, allowing me to handle both operating system and third-party application updates from a single console

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The Patch Manager has the ability to automatically scan for missing patches in the client machines and download and deploy them across platforms, without any manual effort with the help on Automatic Patch Deployment. This is also supported to the non-Microsoft applications.

#### Cons

1.Sometimes the manual Deployment will take too much of time, and if it fails to deploy, then the tool doesn’t provide clear error messages to fix the failure issue. 2.We have mostly shared client machines, so multiple users are using the same machine, and some applications are installed on the user profile, like Zoom. And if another user is logged in, then the zoom of the other user's profile is not updated, and it will fail to deploy the patches.

#### Reasons for switching to ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus

The patch manager tool is very helpful for patching.

It has been above average, I have noticed there seems to be a large amount of hot fixes deployed in my short time of use that has had some large impacts causing failure of certain patches until you are on the latest release.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

It's fairly easy to get up and deployed. We came from using SCCM which requires a large amount of setup and constant maintenance to manage.

#### Cons

The reporting leaves a lot to be desired. I wish I could do category breakdown of patch compliance by criticality as well as first party vs third party patching compliance.

#### Reasons for switching to ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus

It was a large expense and a bit overkill for our needs

We have been a customer since December 2025. I have been impressed with PM+ so far, Product is good and pretty robust, support is good. As an Enterprise customer, we are entitled to 4 Health checks a year (if required) one on site and the others remote.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Firstly, during start up the support received was fantastic and all questions were answered promptly and in a professional manner. The interface is a little bit intimidating at first, but within an hr or so was comfortable navigating the console; with support on hand to respond quickly. Deployment of Agent is comprehensive and with multiple methods of delivery available. PM+, provide many guides which is useful and negates the need to contact support. Setting up APD Policies is logical and straight forward. Deployment of Patches are quick; much quicker than our previous solution. PM+ have managed to capture and deliver many functions to ease the burden of Patch deployment. As part of our subscription (on Premise) we have a variety of tools to use, e.g. Remote Control, WOL, Remote Shutdown/Restart to name but a few. They are serval useful functions and controls within remote control. I also like the way PM+ provide you with a forum with which you can ask for new functions; which they will review and advise if possible. Pm+ is an affordable Patching Solution which; you get a lot of functionality for your ££££

#### Cons

Like many consoles, there are a few quirks. Certain pages have a refresh where others do not, when searching for devices once you refresh it closes the search box, a minor annoyance. Dynamic Group creation suits our environment, however it not available to all functions within the console; although lesser favourable options are available but require more admin over head.

#### Reasons for switching to ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus

Recommended and cost, we are moving to intune and needed wanted a pathing solution for managing 3rd party applications

### Great software at a great price point.

- Overall rating: 5/5

I have been using Patch Manager Plus for about 6 years now and it has been great. Various solutions were tried before but none of them worked nearly as well. We have a lot of EMR servers with dependencies on other servers and each time they are rebooted it has to be in a specific order with plenty of time for SQL and other processes to start before rebooting others. Other patching solutions always messed up the reboot order and it would cause chaos with users as would be unable to log in due to the patch software messing up. Because of this patching had to be done manually and that can be torture on Server 2016, that ended when we found Patch Manager Plus and it has been smooth sailing since. The price is great and it's much more reasonable than other solutions we used. It is easy to set up schedules for rebooting, configuring test groups and schedules for test groups and setting up reports. We use several ManageEngine products in our environment, their customer support has been responsive and very helpful when needed, the documentation is very good and up to date, and updates are released regularly to improve the product.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The program is easy to install and configure, it's also more intuitive than other software I have used. Very easy to set up schedules, test groups, delays between reboots, and specific rebooting orders. The customer support team has also been very helpful and replies quickly. I don't often engage them as the product documentation has been great but when needed they are helpful.

#### Cons

Sometimes the reporting gives issues saying that a system is not fully patched but when I go into the report it doesn't list missing patches and when I check the server patches are up to date. Another issue that crops up on some of our older Server 2016 servers is that a patch will not fully install and prolongs reboot times. I do not know if PMP is contributing to this problem but I suspect the main culprit is just the janky Server 2016 patch process.

#### Reasons for choosing ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus

Too expensive, not the right fit, and the sales person was pushy.

### A Capable Tool With Room to Grow

- Overall rating: 5/5
- Reviewer: Ron B.

- Industry: Transportation/ Trucking/ Railroad
- Company size: 51-200 employees
- Product usage: Used weekly for less than 6 months
- Reviewed: March 2026
- Review source details: This reviewer was invited by the software vendor to submit an honest review.

Overall, my experience with Patch Manager Plus has been positive. It covers the essentials well, the interface is mostly intuitive, and the pricing makes it an easy choice. Where it falls short is in restart scheduling and streamlining the patching workflow, though I was able to work around the restart limitations by writing custom scripts to get the behavior I needed. With some refinement in those areas natively, it could easily go from a good tool to a great one.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Patch Manager Plus offers a straightforward and mostly intuitive interface that makes it easy to get up and running quickly. One of its biggest strengths is the variety of agent deployment options, so there's a method for just about any scenario. The dashboard gives a solid at-a-glance view of patching status, and the level of detail available when configuring update policies lets you get as granular as you need with approval rules and rollout behavior. Third-party application patching is something we plan to implement, and the pricing is very reasonable for what you get.

#### Cons

While Patch Manager Plus does a lot well, there are a few areas I wish were better. The restart scheduling options feel limited, and I'd love to see more granular control over when and how reboots are handled. For example, in my environment I often need to waterfall server restarts due to production requirements, restarting certain servers first and waiting before moving on to the next group to avoid downtime, and that's not as easy to set up as I'd like. The update process itself could also be a bit more streamlined, as there are times where applying patches feels like it involves more steps than it should.

#### Reasons for switching to ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus

Solar winds did not provide good tools and the experience for use was quite terrible.

Great experience with product and support. Patches for the product are released very frequently and they cover every type of operating system.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The easy of use of the solution. It is very simple to have an entire overview of the status of patches for every workstation and server of the company and so it is simple to plan the patching phase.

#### Cons

Nothing because I never had a major issue or problem with the platform and in every situation the problems where solved very quickly.

#### Reasons for choosing ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus

Intune lacks several features compared to Patch Manager Plus or requires high end licenses

### Very effective patch management

Overall I think this works very good as a patch management solution. It focuses on that and does it well.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Simple, clean, and easy to use interface. The automation works very well and I especially like the ability to automate patch testing and approval. That brings about a big efficiency gain. Scans run quickly and the devices stay in regular contact with the server. The self-service portal is also a very good feature as in some circumstance that becomes a very useful way to deploy some patches.

#### Cons

About the only cons I've seen is I don't see a way to control the interval of the patch scans or when they can happen. The scans can use a bit of cpu so on some devices I may want to limit when they can run.

#### Reasons for choosing ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus

We already have other products in the Zoho ecosystem and price.

#### Reasons for switching to ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus

Frequent issues with performance and reporting.

Overall it is easy to use. Deployment works well. We were using ESET patch management and we had patches that were not deployable but ManageEngine worked.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Very easy in terms of deploying patches to workstations. The UI is very self explanatory. Deployment process works well.

#### Cons

While it wasn't an advertised feature, it will be good to have the ability to collect software inventory from workstations.

#### Reasons for switching to ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus

Licensing reason. Corporate compliance decision.
