Alternative PDF editor/reader with "ugly as only MSOffice can be" ribbon interface

It is not as good as Adobe PDF. You cannot use it for professional printing process. Some other non-Adobe solutions are much better, but their price is many times greater. Sometimes it is very slow. Sometimes screen preview is not the same as original. This product is not yet mature as it should be.

Pros:

It is correct middle range product with some glitches, but I like text selection tool in it (it preserve format of paragraphs) and "click to download" image option. In new professional version, it can even make PDF forms.

Cons:

Memory garbage collector is not good. If you open and work with big document, in few first minutes it is ok... but with time laps, software speed drop down and it become very slow and memory comsuming application and sometimes he stop responding. And... you cannot use it for prepress. There is no CMYK overview per colour.

Reasons for choosing FlexiPDF

Adobe cost too much. For in-house pdf editing FlexPDF is sufficient with its low price. In some cases we use online PDF editing tools.

Reasons for switching to FlexiPDF

First problem with Adobe Acrobat is price. Then sellection of text and paragraph handling.

Thank you for your review. The focus market for FlexiPDF is the general office user, it doesn't target the pre-press market segment (in regard to the CMYK). We will consider this market in the future releases.

I prefer FelxiPDF and will continue to use this software. This is the only PDF editor/creator that I have been satisfied with so far, I've been using pdf editors for more than 9 years.

Pros:

Editing PDFs even though a common task is not that easily achieved by most software available, I have tried various pdf editors/readers both free and licensed and so far, FelxiPDF is the one I'm most satisfied with. The feature that I like the most is the image-to-text conversion; recently most of the pdf I receive are scanned photos of handwritten text and so to edit it is a hectic task and that burden is put to easy by this feature, all I have to do is make some corrections. Adding, deleting, and rearranging pages is somewhat more comfortable in Flexi than in other similar software. At last, but more importantly, the easy search and find and the interface related to this feature make the use really comfortable, I use this feature more frequently than any other features

Cons:

The user interface is a bit lacking, even though efficient, there is still room for improvement. The zoom-in zoom-out function needs to be smoother.

Reasons for switching to FlexiPDF

I just wanted to try out different software hoping for improved features and a better user interface.

Rewriting PDF with your touch

Sloves generate edits required with pdf files. I truly recommend it.

Pros:

I like every feature so included. I would love it can encrypt with password bypassing the usual menu and listing some pages which any free user can access. Every master password could help the user for full content view once payment is done. Creating digital signed documents can be done at ease.

Cons:

OCR inscriptions in images cannot be detected. Further conversion to word from pdf is not available. There must be erase features with advanced sketches included for future versions. Conversion of the entire website through addons must be done.

Very simple installation. More value for money.

Hello Aby, Thank you for your review. OCR can be access through the menu "Pages" then "OCR Recognize text". This will automaticaly detect any text from scanned images. If text is not detected correctly, use "OCR correction" button and fix it it manually.

Edit PDF like edit word document

Using FlexiPDF is really cut my pdf editing time by almost half. The export to image format is another add on to protect my pdf.

Pros:

FlexiPDF allow me to edit the pdf directly just like edit any word document. It even works like editing the sentences in a paragraph block which can't find in any others pdf editing tools.

Cons:

The interface is have a very basic look and the UI still have a lot of room for improvement.
