Vagaro is a cloud-based salon, spa and fitness business management solution that allows professionals to book appointments and manage various facility roles. It offers an integrated solution to manage bookkeeping, payroll, client databases and inventory management, as well as featuring email and text notifications to clients and automated email marketing.

Users can list available appointment slots, and customers can then look for salon facilities nearby and book appointments through Vagaro’s website or the Vagaro app. VagaroPro, the business app, is available for Android and iOS smartphones.

Users can create customizable promotional web pages to showcase upcoming events and special offers through Vagaro’s website or connect with their customers through email and social media platforms. Customers can also create personalized profiles with their contact information, booking history and feedback. Users can keep records of their customer service histories and generate customizable reports with graphs and charts to track business performance, customer retention and more.

Ok for single operator. Not effective for bigger salon.

Their customer-service department seems to be filled with condescending 20 somethings who enjoy attempting to make users feel inadequate. The last 3 times I've had to call-in and ask a question or have voice a concern about the product, I've been spoken down to by someone half my age.

Pros

The calendar is easy and self explanatory. It seems easy to use Even for people with no computer experience . If you're still using pencil and paper , this is way better than that . Probably a great product for both renters. Clients like notification system.

Cons

If you've used any other salon softwares that are in a high performance category as far as reporting and/or user experience this will not suit your needs . It is very rudimentary in its performance . It does not allow for any customization in reports or in applications .
Many features are archaic and need updating. The feature to logout users after a certain amount of time can't recognize the difference between idle and not idle so it will log you out and lose your work in the middle of a session . The "marketing" section is mediocre at best . IF you've already been running a computerized operation for 5 yrs or more, you will find the software completely inefficient . It does not save your work if you're in the middle of procedures when it logs out . It cannot tell the difference between tasks in progress and idleness . If you leave the program wide-open and it doesn't log anybody out automatically, then your separate users have no recognition within the system, Unless they individually and manually log themselves in-and-out every time . SO MANY SILLY TIME WASTING things that MUST be done manually every session. Yuck.

Not user friendly we did a trial and had more headaches then ever we were switching from being on the books to something online this is not the option we should have gone with

They are not the best option out there do your research before setting up the whole system

Pros

I didn't find anything great about this maybe that they will make you a website if you need one but honestly nothing really great

Cons

This software is not user friendly I realize it is very inexpensive but the customer service is horrible we needed help with certain things and the people that we would talk to pretty much made us feel like we weren't important and didn't care about our problems they were very ignorant it's unfortunate that it didn't work out seeing that everyone speaks very highly of them but I feel as if they need a lot more growing to do especially with the calendar itself and the people that are helping the customers ! They make everything harder then it needs to be!

There are several other app options that are better. I trialled several of these type of app/programs. They were the only one that asked for a credit card to do a trial. The other programs emailed and stated the trial was almost over and do I want to continue. Vagaro sent me one email, when I signed up, and one more 30 days later stating they have charged me the monthly fee. They didn't email stating my trial was almost over. And dealing with several, it's hard to remember them all. I couldn't believe it when I received an email from them saying they've charged me money... without even informing me they would do so.

There are far better programs out there. No need to use this one that will steal money from you. And, they have no option for a refund. I tried their program for only a few days before finding better alternatives. I still can't believe they took money without informing the customer. That is fraudulent.

Pros

None. There are identical options that do not ask for a credit card during the trial period.

Cons

They will steal your money! Do not give them your credit card details to trail.

I have used Vagaro as a Day Spa Manager and as a client. As a Day Spa Manager, the software made the chaos of scheduling seem like an easy task. Employees loved that clients could book appointments online, and the employee could verify the time slot before accepting the appointment. Anyone can access their schedule via smartphone, tablet, computer, etc. Clients loved that they could book their appointments 24/7 via their personal devices. It really is a win-win for everyone.

Pros

Convenience for employees and clients.
Sends reminders to clients about their appointments.

Cons

Nothing.

Advice to Others

I always know what my book looks like from any iPhone. I set my alarm clock to Vagaro. And my customers love the reminders. It's great software at a great price.

Cons

It doesn't sync up with my cc processor, my inventory...and it doesn't track employee hours and commissions.

Cons

The software updates usually are at times that affect Australia time. Would be fantastic if this software updates were to be done on Sunday's Australia - USA times.

Convenience for myself as a business owner and my clients. As well as the ease of it all and the training on the back end information for optimal results for business owners. Also, that functions such as marketing are built in with the online booking system.

Cons

Maybe that I can't have something pop up when someone books to remind them to read the important info on the main page of the booking platform for optimal results with my services. Maybe I can do this and I'm just unaware of it though!

From any device it is absolutely the easiest way for me and our clients. I can see anything form any device and book from anywhere. Our clients can book their anointment or make changes as they desire. Love the email, texting reminders and marketing features. Right now I am working on the thanksgiving email for next week. It has a few snags like most software as expected but very few and the live chats often have slow response to begin interaction.

Everything about this program is so easy. booking, adding clients, ringing clients out, even inventory.

Cons

not being able to change the titles of the existing service fields-I do gender neutral pricing, and the default was women hair cuts, mens haircuts, it would have saved me a lot of time to be able to just change the title, instead of creating all new services.
I do wish I could just receive a p.o., it's nice that i can create one, but my distributor does online ordering so it seems useless, but if i could still generate one and receive said p.o., it would be nice.

Booking and marketing all in one system. Price wise it is very reasonable. Very easy to use and understand. Customizable as far as the look goes. Able to link it to web page so that clients can book online.

Cons

Sometimes its glitchy and you have to do the same thing over again. You try and edit an appointment for instance and it bounces you back to the regular calendar. When setting up the services I found that it was more geared towards a hair salon. The pictures available for each services was limited when it came to spa services.

The scheduling is awesome. Customers pick their service and then their time. They can also limit it to certain providers and is very user friendly.

Cons

Honestly the only thing I can say is that the layout may be a little TOO simple, but that is not much of a problem in my opinion.

Cons

Its complex. There are lots of layers. It is difficult to add photos from my phone. They seem to be too small or wide. I don't understand.

Pros

two things that i like the most, payroll configuration and appointment online, payroll configuration its a great feature for me as well as the employee, and the application for our customer its very people friendly.

Cons

the various e-mail that needed to be provided when setting up employees, is the least i like,
I think that the business domain e-mail should be enough and allow employee to have their own user name and password.

I love the software. Not to mention the outstanding customer service and team support. It super easy to use and offers great tool to help you business succeed.

Cons

The web-store definitely could be better. I sell have extensions and different size products . While can sell on the site it doesn't streamline the product that come in varies sizes and lengths. As the functionality stand In order list all the lengths. the same item has to be listed which makes the page junky and visually unappealing. Once this issues is fix this software would be superb!

It's easy to maneuver. It's not complicated as other systems can be. The scheduling process is easy for me as the user and for our guests. I love how the system alerts the user and the guest of appointments scheduled, appointments cancelled, etc.. I love the note section, the fact that you can attach the formula under the guest's history. I'm not too technology savvy yet, I can troubleshoot on my own. :0)

Cons

The guest's complain about receiving so many reminder alerts and the times may not be the best times to sen alerts (especially in the wee hours of the morning or super late when people are sleeping).
