Pros/Cons
Pros
- What I like most about this software is how easy and user friendly it is. ArcSite has greatly helped my confidence learning more structural work.
- Overall, the company has been nothing but helpful and the experience has been positive. We love the value it adds by having it installed on our iPads.
- The customer support team is fantastic, and was eager to know about my experience with the tool and what they could do to improve.
Cons
- However, paying this much, every month, to simply draw a floor plan is ridiculous.
- The only "complaint" I have is the inability to create a custom line type beyond the established solid and dashed lines.
- Also, occasional crash issue when using custom symbols created in the app.
Pros
- Planswift is like an open-source, do-it-yourself platform. It is awesome in it's capability to write what you need and even design the input screens to look very clean and professional.
- Anyway I can recommend this software for new users who are looking to have there estimation purpose. I am happy overall quality of the software.
- When looking into takeoff software this is the clear winner. It integrates well with other programs such as BuilderTrend and it is very easy to use.
Cons
- Terrible customer service. I usually call and have to leave a message and someone might get back to me in 24-48 hours.
- The other downside for me was that I had to have my computer rebuilt, and the PlanSwift files were stored in a place on my computer that is not routinely copied when an IT tech rebuilds the computer.
- If you get a live person on their end it's usually "I'll get a technician to call you back. Then I guess you're just supposed to sit at your computer and wait, usually hours or into the next day.
