Finally a polling option for students without technical problems!
Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to any educator looking to have a way to monitor class participation
PROSI used iClicker throughout my entire undergrad education as a way to monitor attendance as well as for in-class participation. There were never any technical difficulties that I have experienced with other polling software. I would say to any professor or teacher that wants to use this type of technology in the classroom, iClicker is probably the best option out there.
CONSI cannot think of any cons that are significant. The only thing is that if multiple professors use the program you have to ensure that your students are on the right channel or else it won't count their participation. But this is super easy to check and fix if they are not on the right channel.

Effective for group response
While iClickers can be tough to remember to bring to class, I never had a problem once I made a point to always carry it in my bag. It is a reliable tool, and I never had problems with it. I prefer it to online softwares such as Hotseat because it does not require internet connectivity.
PROSThis is an easy-to-use and reliable machine. I have used it for four years now and have had no problems: I just keep it in my backpack and pull it out when it is needed. It is robust enough to stand being tossed about in my back, and I rarely have to change the batteries. It always connects to the servers and I am confident when my answer is submitted.
CONSThe process of changing the response frequency for different classes was a hassle (from AA to AB, etc.) but I completely understand why it is necessary. Occasionally, I forgot to change it and lost points for attending a particular lecture; this was frustrating, but I understand that it was my own mistake.

iClicker: Basic functionality, not much else
There are multiple ways to engage with students using this. The remotes themselves, while they function well, are pricey and very basic in their use. Other methods of engagement such as through the app are better.
CONSFunctionality is very basic with the remote, especially for the cost of the product. For something as expensive as it is I would like more functionality than just a few buttons for responses.

Simple to use and quick to gather data
It is very quick and simple to set up. All you need is a room code to join. The controls are the remote are very simple
CONSThe older remotes don't have screens which puts some students at a disadvantage. The software also tended to crash

Classroom need
I would say my overall experience with the iclicker was great. It helped for a more focused review when studying for exams.
PROSThe ease of this is what I liked most about this software. We used this for every day for in class quizzes, results are displayed and give immediate feedback.
CONSWhat I liked least about this software is that. I don't have the data available to me so I can go back and review the questions I missed
