Select to learn more

Intuitive And User-Friendly Design

The platform is widely praised for its simple, intuitive interface that makes it easy for beginners and experienced users alike to create, edit, and present slides without a steep learning curve or extensive training.

Versatile Presentation Creation Tools

PowerPoint gives users creative control to build polished presentations for business, education, or personal use. It supports multimedia, animations, and custom designs, making it easy to craft engaging, professional slides for any audience.

Wide Range Of Customizable Templates

PowerPoint offers a large selection of pre-made and customizable templates, helping users quickly create professional-looking presentations. The variety and flexibility save time and make it easy to match different styles or branding needs.

Subscription And Cost Concerns

Many users find PowerPoint's pricing model expensive, as it requires a subscription or purchase of the full Office suite. This can be a barrier for occasional users or those seeking a standalone, affordable presentation tool.

Limited Image Editing Capabilities

Users often struggle with inserting and managing high-quality images, as large files can slow down or crash presentations. PowerPoint lacks robust tools for creating or editing original graphics, requiring external software for advanced visuals.

Challenges With Video Integration

Embedding or playing videos in presentations can cause large file sizes, slow performance, and compatibility issues. Users report difficulties with smooth playback, file sharing, and managing multimedia-heavy slides across different devices.

Pros:

Ability to put a lot of information into a consistent tool for presentations and training within an organization.

Functionality

Pros:

As a student, PowerPoint was a part of each and every one of my presentations and oral reports. I truly loved how intuitive the program becomes over time, and how quickly you can learn to use it. I can say that, even after graduating, PowerPoint continues to be a part of my life—specifically for informational presentations displayed in the waiting area of my business.

Cons:

I currently have no complaints about the program. I might say that the licensing fee can be a bit of a hassle at times, but as a student, I was sometimes able to find programs that helped cover the membership for a full year. Now, with modern technology and AI, the application might see less use—but there is nothing quite like doing things yourself. 100% recommended.

Still the golden standard for presentations, but the AI could be better

4

My overall experience with PowerPoint has been really good. It’s still the tool I’d trust most for professional presentations because it’s familiar, flexible and accepted almost everywhere. The core product is really good, but the AI integrations feel like they’re still catching up. For now, PowerPoint remains the golden standard for slides, with room to improve on AI-assisted creation.

Functionality

Pros:

PowerPoint is still the standard for creating slide presentations. It’s reliable, widely recognised and easy to share across teams, clients and businesses. I like that it gives you a lot of control over layout, branding, formatting and presentation flow. The Microsoft 365 integration is also a big advantage, especially when working with Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel

Cons:

The AI features could be better. Copilot can help with outlines, slide drafts, edits and summaries, but other presentation tools already feel more advanced and easier for AI-led slide creation. PowerPoint’s AI support is useful, but it doesn’t yet feel as natural or creative as it could be
