The best software for checking and monitoring analytics.

Simply great. Like I said it can be difficult to get the hang of it but once you do, you have an absolute analytics powerhouse on your hands.

Pros

Google Analytics is among the most powerful analytic tool out there. It also free which is absolutely great for the features and functionality you will be getting. The vast range of metrics that Google Analytics allows you to track is nothing short of impressive. I am a Data analyst and web developer in my company so Google analytics has been an indispensable tool for me. I use it daily to track behaviour flow, conversation rate, goals, web site analytics and many other metrics. Google data studio is a great way to retrieve data directly from the tool and create a customizable dashboard with all the top metrics that you frequently analyze or track.

Cons

I don't have much to complain about when it comes to Google analytics performance and reliability. The only issue I had was getting acquainted with navigating through and learning all the features. It takes a lot of time to learn how to use Google analytics to a workable degree. I personally had to take a free course offered by Google to properly get the hang of all the features and their uses and to properly monitor and analyze the data it provides. It's not easy to learn and so my team members often have problems and regularly come to me for help with using the software to achieve a certain desired goal.

Reasons for Choosing Google Analytics

My organisation simply decided to choose Google analytics because it is the industry standard for web analytics.

Maybe I'm Stupid

With someone with the proper skills to utilize Google Analytics--or even someone with the time to devote to learning all of the tricks of the Google Trade--this product can be the difference between sinking with a failing campaign, wasting a lot of your clients' money in the process, and being able to quickly and efficiently tailor digital advertising efforts to maximize returns.

Pros

If you know what you are looking for--and how to find it again after Google makes approximately 300 changes and updates--Google Analytics can be exceptionally useful. In our business, it is extremely important to not only know that a given media product is working for the client, but also to be able to PROVE the success (or failure) of a product to the client. Our clients--the business owners and their staff--want to be sure that they are spending their money on advertising products that work. It is very easy to claim that, yes, this product is working for you, but it is another matter entirely to be SURE and to be able to prove that success. Google Analytics allows us to track digital interactions with the customer's website. Typically, our clients have no idea if their websites are seeing increases in customer traffic following advertising campaigns (such as television and radio), or if the digital ads placed are doing exactly what they should be doing.

Cons

While the concept behind Google Analytics is great, the actual execution leaves much to be desired, at least for me. Maybe I'm completely stupid (a fair assessment) or too Gen X and not Millennial enough to find Google Analytics easy to use. It surely doesn't help that it seems that the user dashboard/interface changes every time I use it. Knowing how to navigate through the various levels and sections of the monstrosity that is Google Analytics to find exactly what metrics are needed in any given situation is an artform--and I feel like I've only just mastered stick figures and maybe a smidge of finger-painting. In short, I'm not an artist.

A must for keeping track of website performance

I use Google Analytics on our own, and our clients websites. Overall it's a great product and being free to use it's a no brainer.

Pros

The main thing to like about GA is it's free! For the minimal outlay you get great insight into the performance of the website, where customers are coming from in terms of location and channel, their journey through the site, where there might be exit points, areas of concern.

Cons

The biggest gripe is that Google hides the majority of natural search terms which bring customers to the website, information they clearly have available to them as it works fine for paid search terms. For this, you would have to invest in alternative software.

Reasons for Choosing Google Analytics

Adobe is probably a stronger product, but Google Analytics has enough under the hood for most requirements.

Google Analytics Good Value

This service made transferring and exporting data a breeze, it was seamless, painless and help my companies overall workflow.

Pros

It was nice to have all of my website analytics in one hub and have the ability to export any file size I need. Google Analytics made it quick and easy to transfer data to all my clients.

Cons

Some of the updates are a pain when first installed, but they do provide a fairly easy to understand tutorial.

Reasons for Choosing Google Analytics

It is easier to use google analytics as it syncs up with all my other google accounts into one, easy to navigate hub.

Reasons for Switching to Google Analytics

Ease of use and easier to store everything on one platform.

Great tool for statistics, hard to use in the EU

Overall, I would really recommend Google Analytics, especially for non-tech-experts because of the easy integration.

Pros

Google Analytics offers a feature-rich set of tools to track the performance of websites while being organized and easy to use. It can be integrated into websites very great.

Cons

The downside of Google Analytics is (especially in the EU) definetly the data protection and transperency by Google about the useage of the tracked data - I would recommend speaking to an expert about the legal integration of ther service inside of the EU.

Reasons for Choosing Google Analytics

I use both systems side-by-side to get the best experience possible, Google Analytics mostly for bigger projects.

Use analytical data to improve lead generation

Overall, Google Analytics is a great platform and essential tool for all marketers. Other tools charge you a lot for the insights you can find for free in Google Analytics. GA4 has more rich features and visual layouts

Pros

I like how Google Analytics shows you breakdown of all traffic sources. Using UTMs in campaigns is very beneficial and you can analyse which ads are working or not.

Cons

Navigating to different sections can be very confusing. It can take some time to learn how it works and a lot key insights are buried deep.

Reasons for Switching to Google Analytics

Clicky was pricy and Google Analytics offers more for free

Great analytics tool

A great tool for tracking our website activity and drawing insights from visitor behavior.

Pros

We use Google Analytics to track all the activity on our site. It's crazy that software this good is free.

Cons

It can be tricky to use and takes months/years of learning to really get value out of all the functionality. A more user-friendly way of understanding the data it tracks would be beneficial, especially for new users.

Reasons for Choosing Google Analytics

Oribi is expensive and we're not quite ready for something like that yet.

Amazing Product Yet accessing it can be bothersome

Excellent have rarely had issues and although the google customer support team is a little below average, they can help you with almost any request and they're very prompt.

Pros

Love this software as a part-time SEO/Project Manager this is a must-have when it comes down to decision making. The information it provides can pivot the whole ad campaign in a whole new direction and the importance and use of keywords with its keyword analyzer tool is just bliss to have. I really like this product but I do feel some features should be "free to use" or at least have a shortcut since it's a bother to have to open my business account whenever I need to make a minor tweak or confirm a last-minute change.

Cons

It could be a lot more simple it's honestly a little clunky and other programs such as SEMRush that have more added value end up being an overall better product. I honestly expect more from google. But as an affordable option, there aren't two.

Reasons for Choosing Google Analytics

Got both, still use both. Google sometimes comes back with more data, especially on international campaigns.

Pros

The depth of the feature set - from simple page views to mapping campaign performance from multiple sources and timelines.

Cons

Customer support is not great - it's pretty much up to the community.

Google Analytics, Standard for Inbound Site Metrics

We like it. Google Analytics is easy to use, up to date, and transparent. We are able to quickly review data and make actions upon it to make the site experience better for users along with generate sales.

Pros

We primarily use Google Analytics to track website activity such as sessions, page visits, time spent, and the bounce rate of our client’s website. We also use it to track online advertising campaign measurement based on the inbound traffic. It was relatively easy to set up overall, and did not take time.

Cons

It is mostly direct site traffic and does not really measure attribution that well when it comes to sales. A lot of it is last click, we prefer a multi-touch model.

Reasons for Choosing Google Analytics

It is integrated with our clients site and tech stacks. We have active search, social, and display campaigns.

Reduce extra costs with Google Analytics.

Pros

Nowadays as the improvement of the information technology industry, the most valuable thing is the data. But unconsciously collected data is useless and we cannot get any benefit from it. The main advantage of Google Analytics is providing meaningful data. Google Analytics not only collects data but also transforms it into understandable metrics which helps us to see the changes in our company very easily. My most liked feature of Google Analytics is the campaign measurement feature which allows us to measure our campaign success rate and make essential improvements if needed.

Cons

While using Google Analytics for me the main difficulty is slow website speed than before. While the users browsing in our website, in every click browser redirects every request to the Google Analytics server and back. As a result browsing speed decreases. In low traffic, it is not noticeable by visitors, but if you have large traffic on your website this can be a time-consuming process for visitors.

Great for Starting Out & Monitoring Traffic

I have been using Google Analytics since 2010. In that time and with countless websites and blogs, I have continued to use them because it is quick to set up, easy to navigate and can be accessed on all my devices for updates at a second's notice.

Pros

Google Analytics is pretty ease to use, even for beginners. Creating and adding your site to the system takes only minutes. You can easily share reports with co-workers or clients. Integrates with many third party products with ease, such as WordPress and Ko-fi. The Real Time feature makes watching traffic comes in handy when you have just sent out a new email campaign or created a new post and want to see live how it is converting.

Cons

Some great features have been phased out over the years, such as visually seeing what pages people tended to flow to while on your site (not sure of that feature's name but was in use around 2012/13). Additionally, it does not always match the traffic to the site from referring sites' analytics, which can hinder traffic reports.

Bar far the best app for checking and monitoring analytics

Once you are familiar with Google Analytics you will have no issue using it. By far the best software for tracking your progress and helps you to analyze where improvements are needed on a daily.

Pros

Let me just start off by saying this is the complete package. Google analytics is a big deal. The tracking capabilities are phenomenal and the numerous features just allows you to have everything that you’re looking for in one place. By far one of the most powerful tools available and it is freeee. I love how secure it is and I love how they are constantly upgrading their system and making it better. 10/10

Cons

If you are not familiar with the system at first it can be a bit confusing and hard to maneuver, but once you get acquainted, everything is a breeze. Love it.

Reasons for Switching to Google Analytics

Google was just simpler to use and had a more comprehensive domain.

Nothing Compares to GA but you must be an EXPERT to work with it!

Overall, it allows me to develop and oversee my website venture business successfully. I barely know what I'm doing when I use it, and I need to know so much more, buit that being said, what I get from "just the basics" is more than enough to help me understand what needs to be known to do what I do "monitoring" things that I must see daily.

Pros

I love the most that it can provide you EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN you would want to know. It has every metric feature possible there could be. If you know how to configure things you can have everything at your fingertips. I rely on GA daily to tell me what is going on with my website. Without GA I would be "lost"! I depend on it to help "run my business life" to an extreme degree. I don't know what I would do if I did not have GA!

Cons

It is the most ROBUSt and the most COMPLEX analytics app there could ever be. It's basically impossible to know how to work with it and there is no tech support to assist...so you are "on your own" to figure it all out or hire a professional to assist you.

Most Comprehensive Web Analytics for Free

Well I use Google Analytics to know about people visiting my site, what they do on the site, what are their entry and exit points, whether they perform any search, bounce rate, time spent on site, site speed, traffic sources, etc...

Pros

Things that I like about Google Analytics: 1) Free for small blogs and sites. 2) Easy to implement tracking code. 3) Served by Google CDN. 4) Track analytics on the go with their Android mobile app. 5) Track search queries performed on your site. 6) Track custom events. 7) You can create custom dashboards with metrics of your choice to look at things that matter to you most. 8) Learn about real-time traffic on your site / app.

Cons

Things I don't like about Google Analytics: 1) Not very Privacy friendly. 2) Very expensive if your blog or app has more than 10 million hits per month. 3) Visitors bear the load of a large JS file even for using very few features. 4) Requires some learning curve as it has got lot of features.

Great for the basics but complex queries can be a pain

We use GA to track overall user behavior, determine where our users are coming from, and what they're doing when they get here.

Pros

Google Analytics is shockingly simple to set up; takes just a couple of minutes, and then you have a whole world of data at your fingertips that can be invaluable in determining your long term site strategy/outreach.

Cons

There are extremely frustrating limitations about how GA does its user tracking; the biggest problem we faced was its inability to distinguish bot traffic from human traffic, which MASSIVELY skewed our user analytics. Even removing the bot traffic with custom filtering is only a half-solution at best bc filtered queries don't go back far enough to do meaningful timeseries comparisons.

Reasons for Choosing Google Analytics

We use both.

Google Analytics For Large and Small Businesses Online

This tool is amazing, as I said: I can map my entire site by specific sectors in each region, that's fantastic. In general, I can measure who and how many hits they had on certain pages on my site. With this I managed to recover many sales with people who visited my shopping pages.

Pros

Great work tool, functionality and precision for our online structure, in my case, my websites. They are tools and devices that never end. I can track my customers and all access to my website in a matter of seconds. And better, all for free. Google Analytics is undoubtedly an indispensable tool for anyone who wants or has business on the internet. Or off the internet as well, since you can map any and all regions.

Cons

I have no issue against Google Analytics, the tool is great to work with and has helped me a lot so I have no criticisms about it.
