The auto-receipt collection and matching feature simplifies record-keeping, while the QuickBooks Online and Xero integrations ensure seamless data synchronization. \*\*Pros:\*\* - \*\*No cost:\*\* The Free plan is entirely accessible to teams of all sizes and budgets. - \*\*Essential features:\*\* Despite being free, this plan includes core functionalities for expense management and basic accounting. - \*\*Scalability:\*\* Unlimited cards and vendor tracking allow for growth without the need to upgrade immediately. \*\*Cons:\*\* - \*\*Limited customization:\*\* Advanced approval policies and custom fields are not available in the Free plan. - \*\*No multi-entity support:\*\* Teams with multiple business entities may find the Free plan restrictive. - \*\*Basic integrations:\*\* While QuickBooks Online and Xero are supported, other ERP integrations are not included. \*\*Plus plan\*\* The Plus plan, at $15 per user per month (billed monthly), with a platform fee based on team size, is ideal for teams looking to automate their financial processes and reduce manual work. In addition to all the features of the Free plan, the Plus plan offers advanced approval workflows, batch payments, and multi-entity support. The NetSuite and Sage Intacct integrations provide more robust accounting capabilities. A 20% discount is applied when billed annually. A 30-day free trial is available for this plan. \*\*Pros:\*\* - \*\*Automation:\*\* Advanced approval policies and workflows help eliminate manual tasks and streamline processes. - \*\*Comprehensive features:\*\* The Plus plan includes features like purchase orders, two- and three-way matching, and payment release approvals. - \*\*Discounted annual billing:\*\* Teams can save 20% by opting for annual billing, making the plan more cost-effective. \*\*Cons:\*\* - \*\*Per-user pricing:\*\* The cost can add up quickly for larger teams, especially with the additional platform fee. - \*\*Learning curve:\*\* With more advanced features comes a steeper learning curve for team members. - \*\*Limited customization:\*\* While more comprehensive than the Free plan, the Plus plan may not offer enough customization for some teams. \*\*Enterprise plan\*\* The Enterprise plan is tailored for teams requiring full customization and advanced features. With custom approval workflows, direct ERP integrations, and dedicated support, this plan is designed to meet the unique needs of each organization. Pricing is custom and requires contacting the Ramp sales team for more information. \*\*Pros:\*\* - \*\*Full customization:\*\* Custom fields, user roles, and workflows allow teams to tailor the platform to their specific requirements. - \*\*Dedicated support:\*\* An Enterprise Customer Success Manager and technical consultant ensure smooth implementation and ongoing assistance. - \*\*Advanced integrations:\*\* Direct and custom ERP integrations, as well as third-party integrations, provide a seamless experience. \*\*Cons:\*\* - \*\*Custom pricing:\*\* The lack of transparent pricing may be a drawback for some teams, as it requires contacting sales for a quote. - \*\*Annual commitment:\*\* The Enterprise plan is billed annually, which may not be suitable for teams with fluctuating needs. - \*\*Implementation time:\*\* With custom development and testing, the implementation process may take longer than the other plans. \*\*Conclusion\*\* Our analysis of Ramp's pricing structure shows that they offer a range of plans designed to cater to the unique needs of businesses at various stages of growth and complexity. \*\*For startups and small businesses:\*\* The Free plan is an excellent starting point, providing a solid foundation of features without any upfront costs. As the business expands and requires more advanced functionality, the Plus plan offers a cost-effective solution with its per-user pricing model and comprehensive feature set. \*\*For larger enterprises:\*\* The Enterprise plan is the ideal choice, offering full customization and dedicated support to meet the complex needs of larger organizations. With custom development, third-party integrations, and a dedicated technical consultant, this plan ensures that the software seamlessly integrates with existing systems and processes. When selecting a plan, businesses should carefully consider their current needs, growth projections, and budget. By aligning these factors with the appropriate pricing tier, companies can optimize their financial management processes and unlock the full potential of Ramp's platform. Solid spend management with excellent accounting integration and easy onboarding

5

Ramp has been serving our company's financial needs for 6 months. The system has eliminated the need for Excel files for tracking spends and performing all necessary reconciliation procedures. Its main benefits include reduced time required for closing monthly balance and absence of need for controlling expenses because of set limits. Overall, it offers good value in terms of costs compared to the combination of apps it substitutes. I recommend it to everyone dealing with the same problems.

Pros:

The onboarding process went much smoother than anticipated. Cards were issued and the spend limits were established on the very first day, and all employees quickly managed to navigate through the application with no issues whatsoever. Accounting integration takes care of almost all duties I had to fulfill manually in the past – it adds transactions to the ledger with the appropriate categorization and receipts included, saving time on closing month-end balance considerably. It is great how easy it is to manage invoices – once entered, they undergo automatic routing and are paid out without me having to chase people down via email messages. The user interface is intuitive and keeps frequently performed actions easily accessible; moreover, being a web-based product, it works on both my phone and PC without requiring installation. Regarding security concerns, I find granular control over the card settings useful as it helps to prevent mistakes in advance.

Cons:

While accounting integration made my life easier, there were several challenges related to category mapping to be solved beforehand, and you might have to put extra effort into making it work in case your chart of accounts is specific. Some reporting options that go beyond the basics cannot be customized sufficiently to suit your needs, and sometimes it is necessary to export data into an external tool to analyze it further. There are no serious drawbacks yet, although I would suggest managing expectations to see that it is a fairly long and tedious process of setup despite what marketing says.

Reasons for choosing Ramp

For Ramp vs Expensify, price made all the difference for us. Expensify's reduced advertised rate is contingent on signing a year-long agreement and having 50% of company spending pass through their corporate card. The cost for anything else rises dramatically, plus it's charged on a per-user basis every month no matter how much activity each individual generates. Since we're not tied down by either, the increased monthly per-user cost of Expensify made it too expensive for our needs. Unlike Expensify, Ramp's base software doesn't charge a per-user cost, and thus the calculations were easy. But in addition to being cheaper, the combination of all three functions - the card, expense management, and bill payment - in one solution means we wouldn't have to buy additional solutions and keep track of them. Accounting automation and quickened closing made it worthwhile, but price made us start the evaluation process.

They tend to be fragmented and continue to send sales pitches for the products that I am already enrolled in. So communications need improvement.

## Ramp FAQs

- What is Ramp software used for?

Ramp functions as a comprehensive financial management platform that combines corporate card issuance with expense tracking and automation tools. Companies rely on it to issue physical and virtual cards to employees, automatically collect and categorize receipts, enforce spending policies, integrate expense data with accounting systems, and maintain compliance through automated policy enforcement and customizable spending rules.

- What is the benefit of Ramp?

The primary benefit of Ramp is its ability to automate traditionally time-consuming finance tasks while providing enhanced spending control and visibility. Finance teams save substantial hours by eliminating manual receipt collection and expense report processing. The platform's built-in controls prevent out-of-policy spending before it happens, while real-time tracking and automated categorization give companies clear visibility into their spending patterns and financial health.

- What credit bureau does Ramp use?

Ramp partners with First Internet Bank of Indiana for its banking services and determines credit card approval based on company bank balance and financial health rather than traditional credit scores. This approach makes it accessible to growing companies while ensuring responsible lending practices through real-time financial data analysis, continuous monitoring of company spending patterns, and advanced risk assessment algorithms.
