It would be an improvement, if technical could jump onto your machine quicker rather than using chat. The cost of the product is on the expensive side compared to other products, but provided you use the product as intended i.e. precedents, workflows, the built in AI capabilities then the efficiencies gained does help to offset the cost. It's no standard AI, the intelligence of AI Paralegal, CRM (I chat with pilot constantly), Matter Issues, Pathways, Ruffle, it's just endless the support it is starting to provide and with time we will see across all areas, leaving our employees to do the most vital work, the client communication and legal judgement without the distraction of everything else. Cons: Until the launch of LawY, it would have been how irrelevant the software was becoming after the integrations to PEXA etc as forms went online. Now, it's going from ease of use in one area, and then having it more clunky in another (this document automation, Java Script, Workflows etc). Tasks sitting outside of LEAP and that the new creations like Pathways, Matter Issues, AI Paralegal are not all planned to meet in one location with the tasks from the outset. Currently experience more difficulty using auto time so have staff still manually tracking and that their entries can't read the matter to know if they should be $0.00 rate or billable rate depending on type of matter. Reasons for choosing LEAP Integration won out. If we can aim to remove human error, and instead let team member's focus on what they do best, then why wouldn't we stick with a product who values integration. From initial set up and data migration, the guys have all been great to deal with. We're more efficiently able manage client communications, case progression, document storage and account ledgers. It feels expensive for a sole practitioner, especially given the time needed to set up and maintain precedents and workflows. What started as a necessity to find a practice management system to have the basic features and security I was after has turned into a strong partnership together. There software is no longer just the basic necessities' and is now a trial blazer in the legal sector. They provide great customer support and I still have a relationship with the LEAP client manager I had when setting the firm up. Ratings Breakdown 5 Ease of use 5 Value for money 5 Customer support 5 Functionality Pros: LEAP is very close to being a 'one-stop shop'. There is only one element of my busy family law practice that LEAP cannot assist with, but the good news is they are development a product to cover the gap. Soon it will truly be a one-stop shop for family law firms. I love all the data migration and integration between different products so to limit double handling. Cons: I think it's fair to see that LEAP is not the cheapest practice management software available for law firms. The old adage 'you pay for what you get' comes to mind. Whilst it is not free to use LEAP, and whilst there maybe other cheaper competitors, as the product is so excellent, your staff will be much more productive, especially in the world of artificial intelligence. Reasons for choosing LEAP When I spoke to the other students at my Practice Management Course, the people who didn't use LEAP loved the costs savings, but actually wished they were on LEAP. The people using LEAP grumbled about the fees, but were happy with the product. I chose excellence and trustworthiness over cost. Reasons for switching to LEAP We were previously party of a multi-national law firm, and set up our own business once it 'closed down' its family law division. The practice management software used was not readily available for small firms. I discovered LEAP by asking around other students at the Practice Management Course.
