### Kudoboard is an essential part of our company culture!

Our company is fully remote and very focused on our culture. We have come to depend on Kudoboard to easily have everyone in the office contribute to celebration cards for our team mates. We send Kudoboard's for every work anniversary and birthday. We've also used it for special congratulations (baby's, weddings, awards, etc.). When you ask the team what softwares they like most that keeps us connected as a team no matter where we are, this has always been one of the ones listed at the top and listed by individuals that you wouldn't have thought really bought-in to the importance of these special touches. We also have never experienced a glitch with Kudoboard in the 3+ years we've been using it until just about a month ago. One of our boards was not delivered because of that glitch. However they caught it within just a few hours and sent an email to me stating that the Kudoboard had not been delivered with a link to that kudoboard so I could personally send it to our birthday celebrator. We truly appreciate this service!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Kudoboard is easy to use for the person setting up the board, for the contributors to add messages/pictures/gifs to and for the individual to receive their board. We have enjoyed the expansion of fun background images each year to give a personalized touch for each of our team members and the availability to add funny pictures or gifs to our personalized messages. We also like how quick and easy it is to utilize from a phone since many of our team members are traveling, but still want to add messages to the boards. It is also nice that you can either set-up the board to automatically remind people when they need to contribute or where you can control that by just sending a link to the board to collaborate.

#### Cons

At first one of the cons was not having a variety of backgrounds to choose from. It was hard to customize each board for each person who was receiving it, but they have really expanded that and it's a lot easier to have different backgrounds that really fit the personality of the person receiving the board. Other then that, it really is easy to use and something I don't see us getting rid of or replacing any time soon.

#### Vendor response

Thanks, Deanna! We have increased the number of original backgrounds available per your recommendations and we're always adding more.

Kudoboard makes it easy for a group of people (like coworkers, friends, or family) to come together and contribute personalized messages, photos, GIFs, and videos in one place. It’s like a modern-day group card—but way more expressive.

#### Cons

While Kudoboard offers a clean layout, there’s not a ton of flexibility when it comes to fully customizing the board’s design or layout beyond choosing a background and content types. For users wanting more artistic control or branding options, this can feel limiting.

Very easy to set up new kudoboards for employees heading to new jobs or adventures. It is fun to provide a way to donate to them as a 'going away' present by sponsoring their kudoboards. There was good and positive response from staff receiving a kudoboard and it was surprisingly easy for colleagues to use the kudoboard to wish departing employees with good wishes. The uptake by colleagues was very surprising.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

This platform makes it easy for us to share good wishes to departing employees. It is easy to launch a new kudoboard, but also able to set up donations.

#### Cons

There were no issues when setting up a kudoboard. One tiny way to improve would be to enable more fonts so that we can more easily distinguish messages from various 'signers'.

Kudoboard has been at the heart of maintaining our team culture during the coronavirus pandemic. We used it prior to the shutdown, but really rely on it to help us stay connected and celebrate each other now that we're not able to gather in person or pass a physical card around the office.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

My team and I enjoy adding GIFs to the board that reflect our relationships and/or the recipient's personality, and I love that you can also upload your own pictures to make it that much more personalized. We recently used it to do a sort of memorial wall to our program year, which ended abruptly and unceremoniously, so this was a part of our grieving and coping with the challenging time we're in. I'm grateful for this software!

#### Cons

I can't think of anything. There is sometimes some glitchiness when scrolling through GIFS, but not a huge deal. One small thing: would love to be able to change the color of the title banner, as it sometimes doesn't exactly coordinate with the background image. More background images would also be a plus, since we use it a lot and want to make sure we're keeping it original.

#### Reasons for choosing Kudoboard

I did look around to see what other products were out there, but came back to Kudoboard for user friendliness, cost, and familiarity (we've used it across my org for the past 3 years).

#### Vendor response

Excellent idea for banner colors, Bethany! We've passed it onto our Product Team.

It helped my office to stay connected in a safe way during the pandemic. It gave timely access to everyone. The different graphics allowed us to be unique with each card. We are able to log in at any time to see each other's comments. There was friendly competition of who could add the funniest posts or could highlight a staff member's favorite thing. One person likes monkeys, one person likes butterflies, one person likes hockey. We were able to learn each other through the Kudobard process.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

It is easy to draft, easy to provide a link for others to contribute, easy to pre-set delivering.

#### Cons

Since the time I started using this software I have noticed some improvement in the graphic options, but I think there is room for more options. Additional holidays, special events, and sports background options.

#### Reasons for choosing Kudoboard

The price and the ease of use.

When Covid started and our team went fully remote for a year, we initially found it challenging to still feel connected to each other and celebrate milestones and holidays virtually. Traditionally, we had sent around a physical greeting card, but it was always difficult to track people down and make sure everyone felt included. I had initially suggested Kudoboard to my team to say goodbye to a team member who was leaving the company. We thought it would be a great way to show our appreciation even though we were apart. Since then, it's been adopted company wide, and we now use it all the time for birthdays, promotions, and farewells.

#### Pros

It's awesome that you can include gifs and photos that allow us to share memories with each other.

#### Cons

I wish there were more gif options that were higher quality and that emoji reactions were standard instead of an additional checkbox on setup. Some of our colleagues aren't super familiar with setting them up so they don't always set them up the same way. Would also be great to have some kind of stock photo integration, maybe through Unsplash or something so that choosing custom backgrounds is easier.

#### Vendor response

Hi Danni! Additional stock photos, backgrounds, and GIFs are available now. Thank you for your feedback!

Overall, this was the perfect tool to still send farewell cards virtually to employees that would leave the company. And because you only had to send the weblink to people, it was also possible to have former alumni employees sign the farewell cards. It would have been very challenging to have former alumni employees sign a person's farewell card if it was paper.

#### Pros

I like that it is easy to share with contributors. All you need to do is send a link and people can easily contribute to the board. I also like that it is easy to attach a photo or gif and the backgrounds are nice for the boards.

#### Cons

We have gone through so many kudoboards at our institution that it is getting hard to make original ones. Another thing that we have run into is if you accidentally type the wrong address, it is hard to share it with the original intended recipient. You can share a link, but that person cannot respond to everyone who contributed to tell them thank you.

It's great! Easy to use, priced competitively, and I would definitely recommend it!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

This is a fantastic tool to use for recognizing individual work anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, welcoming a new child, sympathies, and "play of the day" or other forms of appreciation while working remotely, across time zones, and internationally. As the administrative staff member for my employer, I use Kudoboard as a message board with many contributors for all the reasons I listed above. It is comparative in price when considering the logistics involved in buying a physical card and routing to contributors, plus postage when needed. It is very easy to create, customize, invite other contributors, and set either a scheduled delivery or "manually" deliver the Kudoboard to the recipient. The selections of backgrounds, images, and GIF files are sufficient to celebrate (or sympathize using solids) any event.

#### Cons

This isn't a bad thing, but the only con for my organization (because I use this for work and not personally) is that there are a lot of juvenile prints. There aren't a lot of background prints for sympathies. Some are appropriate, such as the solids, but a few more peaceful landscapes or "textured" prints would be nice.

#### Vendor response

Excellent feedback. We've added dozens of new backgrounds for sympathy and memorial boards, and we're continuing to add new ones every month. We hope this helps!

#### Pros

Anyone around the world could now sign the eCard at their own convenience. Of course it's always nice to receive a physical card but this ecard allows folks from around the world to chime in and we gather more words of Thanks and Encouragement for the recipient. With the current pandemic, Kudocard has allowed us to reach more people, cheering for them and hanging in together .

#### Cons

It allows us to schedule when to send the card to the recipient. It also sends notification once recipient has opened the card. On top of that, it sends reminders on when is the deadline so that I could also remind others to sign the card.

#### Reasons for choosing Kudoboard

It's is easy to use and relatively inexpensive and efficient way to send a card to someone who matters to the team.
