Hoping for some input and some changes.

I would say it’s a solid 7-8. There is great potential but not there yet. Excited to see if my input matters.

Pros:

The integration with asana is the most exciting part. I like the notes and the estimated value and actual value tracker. Awesome. Love the share feature. That is amazing.

Cons:

I would really like the ability to assign tasks to contractors still under my responsibility. So assigned to Alex and the trade would be company A. Then have a monthly chart for company A showing all my projects to see if I have over lapped them with another project I have going. If they are a small company and can’t service both jobs this would be a problem. Then also a calendar view of the project with as sub trades. The small thing about having to hit enter after entering the task name is just annoying(something I can get used to)

I like asana and would like a chart that works well with it.

Best Gantt Tool Used So Far

My experience with Instagantt has mostly been good. There was an initial learning curve, but improvements to the user experience and interface have been made through the years.

Pros:

It’s wonderful how Instagantt syncs with Asana to visualize our projects and allows us to share with clients.

Cons:

The resource view doesn’t give us exactly what we need and want to see. We built and manage what we need in a separate spreadsheet and use Instagantt for some of the data that goes into it. Also building out dependencies correctly to where big shifts don’t mess anything up can be a bit tedious.

Reasons for choosing Instagantt

Instagantt’s tool does the Gantt visualizations clearer and more user friendly than Asana - at least Asana’s first few iterations of Gantt charts. When I tested Asana’s Gantt capability, I essentially just wanted it to be more like Instagantt.

Pros:

I really like that I can go in a very detailed level and can see this on the whole overview. I really like the easy handling of adding and changing tasks, the possibility to see the critical paths and deadlines. It makes my life easier to keep track on several projects in parallel. Notifications about deadlines would be again but this is really for lazy ones. ;)

Cons:

To provide the customer a status in form of the project plan the excel export doesn´t looks that nice. I still have to adapt too much. I can´t send out a image neither as there are too many internal information. That´s why I created an additional project so far to simplify everything. I don´t like that I can add an other workpackages / section. I always have to switch to Asana to do this. It could be also the case that I didn´t find the button for that. If tasks have to be done in parallel and you like to show the critical path it is sometimes not that clear which tasks is dependent to another as it is overlapping. If tasks are already done and to mark the tasks as done later on unfortunately that date is saved as the done date. It makes analysis about the performance at the end a bit falsified.

Reasons for choosing Instagantt

Asana is used as an overall project management tool. I didn´t want to increases the tools number in the company. It is hard to commit other colleagues on different platforms. The functionalities of Trello of adding tasks and information in a certain detail level weren´t that handy as in Instagantt. However, Trello is really nice for SCRUM management methods.

Reasons for switching to Instagantt

I needed the a visualization of the project time line getting a better overview. Instagantt allows me easily to add subtask which you even cant see on the first sight at Asana.

Pros:

ease of use + fast and easy synchronisation with asana, great export to ms exel charts

Cons:

scaling the picture of the gantt exported to jpg/pdf is not the best right now - I would recommend to work on this little but important feature. it would be great to add something like dynamic compression of the lenght and widht of the project if it takes longer period of time it is difficult to show such a project in clear picture with names

the price goes well with the tool perfect to use with your team of product manager

Cons:

a bit difficult at the beginning to understand all features but it's just a question of habit the only issue I got was with the login and automatic email to confirm the account, and for that, I didn't saw any customer support. but now everything works and it's seems that my team will use it for a long time!

Best Software ever!

Love it! A very useful and handy software to have. I will always use this in my work. Being able to track your projects from start to end in detail is the most effective and efficient planning I have ever used. I love the date automation as well.

I love how organised you can be and the date tracking is so useful! This software has been so helpful in all of my roles. Everytime I use it, I am able to stay on track with my tasks and keep the critical path going. Love love love it.

I would love to have more visual options to make it more in brand colours. And if we could have a marketing calendar tool as well that would be amazing.

Very good, it allows to see the relationships between tasks and inconsistencies if there are any.

Pros:

I also work with Asana, the combination of both is perfect. For Instagantt, it is the visual aspect that is very good, and that offers easily the possibility to modify tasks and relationships between them.

Cons:

Importing results into Excel or Power Point is not easy and the result is not at the right level to make a presentation. In addition, the summary of the project must be improved to better see the critical path.
