### About TransparentChoice

TransparentChoice is a strategic portfolio management platform designed for PMOs, strategy teams, and business leaders who need to align project delivery with business goals. t helps you bring clarity, control, and confidence to every step of the process, from new project requests to prioritization, planning and delivery.

At the core of TransparentChoice is a structured, collaborative approach to portfolio management. The platform brings together demand management, project prioritization, capacity planning, and AI-powered scheduling to help you make better decisions and stay aligned in a dynamic environment.

It starts with demand management, a flexible intake process that helps you organize and evaluate new project requests as they come in. Instead of being overwhelmed by unstructured proposals or political noise, you can assess all incoming work against consistent strategic criteria, engage stakeholders early, and build a clear, transparent pipeline of demand.

From there, TransparentChoice guides your team through prioritization using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), a proven decision science framework that turns subjective trade-offs into a transparent, collaborative proc...

ess. You define what “value” means for your organization (e.g. growth, efficiency, compliance, risk mitigation), and our platform helps you rank and score projects fairly. Once priorities are set, you can use AI-driven optimization and scheduling to build a realistic, high-value portfolio based on your available capacity, timing constraints, and delivery goals. As conditions change, scenario modeling tools help you respond quickly, whether that’s rebalancing work, adding new projects, or pausing underperformers.

Over the past seven years, I've collaborated with TC on several large strategic alignment and prioritization projects. Working with TC is highly effective, and at the same time, a lot of fun and full of learning.

#### Pros

The ease of use and robustness of the software, and the responsiveness of TC staff to collaborate on solutions.

#### Cons

The graphic interface could be improved for even more immediate impact, but it's satisfactory in conveying results as is.

#### Reasons for choosing TransparentChoice

Cost at first, then ease of use and TC interest in expanding software capability to meet my needs.

#### Reasons for switching to TransparentChoice

Cost and ease of use were major factors in switching.

The original set-up and training were great and so is the continuos support. Working in the software is time consuming, the way our system is set up I need to remember to save scores on assessments before they go to the report. End users have not adopted the dashboard, so I need to export the reporting out to another platform, it is not the software it is 'yet another place they need to go.' We have created shortcuts that some users use, but (cannot figure out why) some users suddenly lose access and are requested to set passwords. SSO never did work.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

I like that all the bias is taken out of decision on what is the highest priority. It is very easy for the end users to use, and the reporting gives a clear visual. The support I get from the company is amazing.

#### Cons

They way our businesses use the tool, it is very tedious to set up, but that is a one time task. I do not like that the system does not remember my previous choices. I use the kanban board a lot and move from there to other areas, each time I come back to the Kanban board I need to expand my columns. Lots of clicking.

#### Ratings breakdown

Great tool for prioritising portfolios to focus on achieving strategic outcomes. Because it involves different areas of the business in the decision-making, it fosters engagement and buy-in

#### Cons

Not really a con, but something to consider- depending on the culture of the organisation, tool adoption could involve having to take decision makers along the change journey.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

#### Pros

Probably the best thing is the results we get, it has proven to be very effective way for our board to set priorities, which they historically have had a hard time doing. Solves the "Everything is a #1 Priority" problem quite elegantly.

#### Cons

We get great value from the tool. We have been using for a few years, and perhaps we could get even more mature in how we use all the features available. There are lots of new features we haven't tried yet!

Rated highest in the procurement process.

### Excellent Tool for Multi-Criteria Decision Aid!

- Overall rating: 5/5
- Reviewer: Maurizio T.
- Industry: Higher Education
- Company size: 10000+ employees

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

As an Academic, I made TransparentChoice my software of choice to teach AHP to MSc (postgraduate) students. In class we obviously use made-up examples. However, many students also end up using the software in their final capstone projects with clients and/or research dissertations, with great results! Finally, I regularly use TC at the end of my course, to understand what priorities for improvement of the course should be pursued and why. The latter 'exercise' provides me with evidence on what works and what does not work of the course each year, and clear guidelines and what could be done to improve; all this is way more effective than any of the typical course feedback mechanisms (old-school questionnaires, filled in individually and separately) that universities tend to use. As a practitioner, when using TransparentChoice in industrial projects (especially around optimal design of complex automated systems), in the past I have enjoyed very much using the sw in a group decision making/support setting. Running surveys in a group when using TC is a very smooth process that can be completed quite quickly even with people with no prior exposure to the sw. This is of course assuming the 'right' people are involved in the group, but that's another story - and nothing to do with the TC sw anyway!

#### Cons

The library of tools within TC should be expanded to make the most of what the software can offer to its users. That means, in my opinion, implementing within TC other MCDA tools beyond AHP etc. TransparentChoice, with its modular nature, has the potential to do so. The benefits for the user will be tangible and immediate to tell, thus multiplying choice options for users so that there is plenty of choice of functions available even when one or more the basic assumptions of the more established techniques such as AHP are even slightly violated by a specific project.

#### Vendor response

Thank you for your review Maurizio. We are continuously improving our product and appreciate your feedback.

### Punches Well Above It's Weight

I have found the team at TransparentChoice to be fantastic, eager to take on board and implement suggestions for improvement. For a relative newcomer in the field, their offering is mature and capable, and has proven its worth in helping me to gain consensus of understanding as well as direction. While some decision modelling skill is required in setting up decisions, from the viewpoint of a survey participant it is very simple.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It enables decision makers to explicitly state what is important and guides the correct conversations leading to better decisions with more buy-in and understanding.

#### Cons

It's a technical thing that I'm sure will get fixed but I would like better control over the scoring/weighting curve - it's not always linear and bigger is not always better - at the moment this requires numerical manipulation outside of the software.

#### Vendor response

Thanks for the comments Jodie. We have already made some improvement based on your feedback. Keep it coming. TransparentChoice Team

It helps, a lot, the alignment of the point of view of multiple decision-makers. The software helps to reduce the time of the meetings, in 3 hours it is possible to prioritize the strategic objetives and evaluate 20 projects in one day.
