I started using the free version and, realizing the advantages of the full version, got the license. It is even possible to do some tasks with other free software, which I have come to see, but with PDF-XChange is much faster and practical. It really is software I recommend. Extremely useful in today's work environments where production and transmission of digital documents represent a relevant part of daily activity (ie: invoicing / orders / brochures). Some annoying aspects affect the software reliability (typography consistency) and decrease productivity, but after some practice and experience, they can be easily handled with some workaround. Well organized top ribbon with few well grouped buttons allow to navigate among functions, and let users easily add/edit elements on their pdf documents, with an overall word processor feeling. Cons: Some negative aspects are related to the edit function. In several cases, the software tends to change the original font in a specific chunk of text (ie: if you want to add a letter in a mistyped word), and even if the typography appears good and consistent during the editing session, it loses consistency as soon as you save it. It's cheap, reliable and is constantly being updated to keep up with hanging demands. The extra tools for splitting, merging and redacting PDF documents are all great as well. I've only used their customer support a few times, but I've always found them to be responsive and helpful. Overall, I don't have any plans to move away from PDF-XChange. the price is great, the product is great and the service is great. Great. Ratings Breakdown 5 Ease of use 5 Value for money 5 Functionality Pros: PDF-XChange has all the features of the more expensive PDF editing software (you know the one I mean) at a much lower price. Ok, it's maybe not as polished as others but when you have 10,000 users, the savings quickly outweigh that. We've been using it since version 3.0 and we're still going. We constantly get requests from users asking for (the other software) and giving various reasons (usually given to them by suppliers) but when we show them what PDF-XChange can do, they quickly accept it. Cons: The only downside to PDF-XChange, and I'll admit this is where it fails against the "other" PDF software we all know about, is that if you want to edit the text in a PDF document, you generally have to convert it to another format first (using the supplied tools). you can then edit the text and resave as a PDF again. To be fair, it does retain all of the formatting and you end up with a professional finish, but this extra step can be a bit taxing. Especially when you are trying to explain it to a user who has previously used (the other) PDF software. Otherwise, no complaints. Reasons for switching to PDF-XChange The licencing costs vs. the features were no longer sustainable for our business. Cons: I'm using PDFXchange for my every PDF works except editing PDF documents. I'm badly missing this feature in this software and I want to use Adobe for editing PDF files.
