Their support is fast, friendly, and best-of-all VERY effective. Double helps my team stay on track with each of our many clients, and it helps us to ensure accuracy with transactions and reporting. Customer support has been responsive whenever I've needed assistance, and it's clear the team is actively improving the platform based on user feedback. As my firm has grown, Double has become one of the few software subscriptions I consider essential because of the efficiency, organization and consistency it brings to my business. I love having one place for client communication, document request, secure storage, and recurring close tasks. I really appreciate the built-in W-9 request and 1099 preparation features, which help simplify year-end compliance and save a significant amount of administrative time. Since implementing Double, I've significantly reduced email back-and-forth, improved organization, and ensured nothing gets missed. My clients also respond to outstanding questions much more quickly now that everything is in one place. Cons: The receipt feature could use some refinement, as I've occasionally had issues with unreadable scans or receipts going missing. If you are looking for a great month end close option, this may be it - that's Double's focus. If the client portal and file organization/storage is very important for you, then do your vetting well in these areas. Strong integration with QBO. Lots of customization, which I love. The new AI features are a game changer. Cons: Poor support to date for Xero, client experience in portal could be much better. No logic support for client onboarding. (You can do this through the tax package, but you have to commit to $200 per month for 12 months last time I checked - and I'm not about to commit to any software for that term as fast as things are changing) There are areas in Double in client management where you can't filter by active or archived clients. This is very annoying - we should be able to filter for active clients or contacts only. Also needs more customization for recurring client reminders - it's pretty limited here. Double is constantly innovating, and they make sure that they're keeping the product both relevant and highly useful. I've learned that my favorite software partners are the ones who plug into their communities and actively seek to ensure their product continues to deliver to their communities. We needed an easier way to communicate with our clients and get questions answered, without using spreadsheets or getting lost in back-and-forth emails. Double solved that problem and more for us. The 1099 feature makes year-end 1099s much easier to deal with, from collecting W9s from vendors, to filing 1099s at year-end. It's so much easier to perform month-end QC reviews to catch errors, and the reporting templates make it faster and easier to deliver consistent, professional reports to our clients, month after month. Cons: The thing that we like least about Double right now is their receipt feature. While it does work, it's missing some key features that would make this a slam dunk. It needs to automatically rename receipts and files based on the vendor/customer name, date and amount. It then needs to auto-file receipts/invoices by vendor/customer name, so that information is easier to find later. Right now, receipts kind of go into the "void" once processed, making them nearly impossible to easily find later. This feature alone has kept us from implementing Double receipts with clients. It also needs to connect with an external file storage system (Box, Google Drive) for automatic back-up.
