It creates a branding opportunity and some image recognition. I also love the clone function if you ever need to change something. It also does a great job of saving the files to specific locations with specific file names for easy organizing. The input options are great and make the user-experience easy. I love that you can upload a CSV file for dropdown options rather than having to type them out every time I want to use a list. #### Cons It would be nice to have a preview feature where you can edit the font, size, and color of an input while you are in the process of adding inputs rather than having to submit an input and see it from the back end. It also might be nice to have a pdf editing version where you can add a text box or image (non-input) for more explanation or indication. It would also be nice if the locations for around the document editing (the background and the extra notes) would be easier to find. When I want to edit that part (which I don't do all the time) I end up searching for 5-10 minutes to try and remember where it is. #### Reasons for choosing PlatoForms Neither product could keep the integrity of the design of the pdf document. Also, web/online forms are a dime a dozen, but forms that are embeddable within PDFs? Finding Platoforms felt like hitting a jackpot! That it's zap-enabled is such an awesome bonus, too! #### Cons If I have to nitpick, it's how it handles overflowing text. It's been a minute since I last created a Platoform, but I recall that the texts get truncated instead of just adding a character limit automatically based on the text box size. The benefits are multi-fold: 1. Time saved in creating online forms 2. Paper-based forms are mirrored perfectly by their online version 3. Convenience of receiving the PDF end-products 4. Chat Support was extremely valuable and helpful in helping me solve many of my queries and code issues. The software or service chosen should fulfill these criteria: 1. Easy to design which meant a short development time for creating an online form 2. End-product (PDF) should be exactly like the paper form used in my organization 3. The Centre Manager who issues the form to the test-taker, should immediately and automatically receive the PDF form upon the form-filler's submission 4. A repository to access and retrieve all submissions PlatoForms fulfilled all four criteria. If there was one stand-out feature that I liked most about PlatoForms, it would be its built-in logic engine that allowed me to customize an infinite number of powerful interconnecting rules. For example I could check if an input box contained a certain value before loading the next page. The same logic engine allowed me to create and process variables. This allowed me to create an online placement test that was self-marking. Other honorable mentions of PlatoForms are: a. very responsive chat and support (thank you [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN]!) b. able to customize the formatting of the online form via CSS code c. easy to use form-creation interface and UI d. very reliable email system where every form submitted is automatically delivered to my Centre Managers #### Cons The inability of PlatoForms to split a form into two halves. Be it vertically or horizontally. We had a need to split the screen into two vertical halves when using PlatoForms to create an online test. This would have a quiz question text to be read on the left half of the screen, and the candidate answers on the right for the test-taker to answer. A split-screen format would allow the test-taker to answer the questions without having to scroll up and down the screen. Another feature improvement/suggestion could be making the data inside the input boxes' font sizes show as WYSIWYG inside the form designer itself. As a form designer, I am able to see the true font sizes by examining the CSS code and the PDF final end-product. We are a school that has streamlined our registration process for our grades into a single form. We use smart logic so that it directs families appropriately based on the age groups and responses. It has saved both families and us lots of time as we can just store the forms digitally without the need to scan. We went from completely paper-based to completely digital. The families have really enjoyed the easier registration process and the tidying up of many of our forms. #### Cons If the product made it easier to line up input areas on the form, that would help. It is easy to align them with each other, but not always the pdf document itself. It saves me a lot of time as a result. Worth the monthly fee. #### Cons The interface for updating forms could be a little smoother, and I wish it allowed import of a replacement PDF while keeping the existing field placement. I am overall pleased however it is very frustrating that the workflow URL has to change when minor tweaks are needed. I like the simplicity of the webform. Pretty easy to set up. #### Cons I wish that I could make minor tweaks to the forms and not have to change the URL. It would be great if there was an easier way to change the forms or workflows to drafts after publishing them. For example, after cloning it would be great to just click on the published form edit, and where it says publish have it switch to being a draft. #### Vendor response Thank you very much for your kind comments at Capterra. I noticed that you mentioned that the URL for the workflow has been changed, even with minor tweaks. In fact, in most cases you don't need to clone it, you can click on "Share" and then click on "Stop sharing" in the pop-up dialog. After that, you can simply modify the workflow (this is same for published form). The reason why you have to "stop sharing" before modifying is that if you modify a live workflow, it may cause the form submission of the live workflow to be interrupted, causing unexpected results.
