Ideal system and great customer service

5

My experience with Nivo has been great. I had never used an itinerary / booking / payment system like Nivo before, so everything was new to me. But the incredible customer service team took a lot of time and trouble to ensure I had everything set up properly. When I started using Nivo for a group tour the first time, I felt confident. I can't give a higher compliment that this!

Pros:

I started working with Nivo about a year ago after a colleague recommended it. From the very beginning, I have received outstanding customer service. I have to mention \[sensitive content hidden\] as she is consistently dedicated, helpful, responsive, and thoughtful. So customer service is number one. But there are many other things I like about Nivo from ease of use to template designs. Nivo was designed for smaller tour operators like me. The set up time was swift -- largely because \[sensitive content hidden\] and her team mates held my hand throughout -- and I have honestly enjoyed interacting with the platform. It has so much functionality that helps me sell tours, as well as organize itineraries and bookings, take payments, and more. Plus, they are constantly fine-tuning it and adding new features.

Cons:

Nivo is still quite new so they are adding a few features that I will be looking forward to. But overall I am satisfied.

Reasons for choosing Nivo

Nivo was the product that most suited my needs and budget. The excellent customer service won me over.

Nivo employs smart ways to automate the repetitive manual tasks in the travel industry so that we can focus on improving the passenger experience, from booking to travelling. I appreciate their help in improving my business.

Functionality

Pros:

Although Nivo is a younger platform, it is already robust and growing strongly. Customer service is wonderful and they feel like partners who support your goals.

Cons:

New rollouts are exciting and sometimes take some time to work out all the kinks. The company is continually improving and it is a stepwise approach so you need to have vision for the full suite of features that will be available in the future while figuring out how to best work with what is currently available.

Reasons for switching to Nivo

We were paying credit card fees to Heartland without any additional services to payment processing

Fantastic straightforward platform, ideal for groups and scheduled departures.

To date we've only used Nivo on occasion when we organize group trips. We also use it to advertise trips on our website as the presentation is really well-formatted for sample itineraries.

Functionality

Pros:

I love the clean format and layout. Its simple flow makes it incredibly user friendly. The layout is honestly our favorite feature. The integration of payments with our Stripe account is also incredibly convenient.

Cons:

There aren't currently APIs to hotels. Means I have to enter all hotels manually. Additionally, the way that charges come across in strips is somewhat of an issue. The fees are tricky to line up when we reconcile our accounts each month.

Reasons for choosing Nivo

We actually use Tern for the majority of our client itineraries and services. We are a travel agency, so ultimately the tools in Tern are better suited for credit card authorizations, supplier payment tracking and easy itinerary creation.

Reasons for switching to Nivo

While I like WeTravel #1 their processing fees are 1% higher and #2 the platform is at this point overengineered and non-intuitive. That said it's the closest comparison to what Nivo offers.

Awesome Booking Platform with Great Support!

5

This is the first tour booking platform that I have used, and it's been a great experience. I met with a bunch before working with Nivo and decided to work with Nivo for its value and the support from the team. I wish I had started working with them sooner! It has been such a relief not to have to chase payments or do invoicing for every single client. I also love that I can use Nivo for FIT clients and that they receive a really nice, organized day-by-day itinerary. Previously, I used another platform, and it just always looked so disorganized — this is way more professional and efficient.

Functionality

Pros:

There are so many things that I like about Nivo. The biggest is probably the customer support. Whenever I have an issue, I know that I can track someone down to help me. The value is also incredible. So many other platforms nickel-and-dime you with fees, and that's a real challenge when you're a smaller operator.

Cons:

I wish I could do more customization with emails that go to clients. There was live tracking with flight updates (similar to how Travefy notifies you via email if there is a delay), and if there is a payment issue, I have to get support involved. I can't fix it on my own.

Reasons for choosing Nivo

There were a couple of others too but I don't remember the names. I went with Nivo because of the price, but also because you allowed me to use it for FIT clients. All of the others were really just geared towards tours.

General Manager

My overall experience with the system has been very positive. Throughout the process, we have appreciated the openness of the development and support teams to suggestions, feedback, and shared learnings as the system continues to evolve. It has been encouraging to work with a team that is responsive and willing to adapt based on user experience.

Functionality

Pros:

What I like most about the system is its ease of use, flexibility, and intuitive design. The platform is straightforward to navigate, which has made onboarding the system and training new employees both quick and efficient. The system feels very user-friendly, even for first-time users, and allows staff to become comfortable with it in a short amount of time. We have also appreciated the ability to take online bookings and payment processing, which has added convenience for both our team and our customers. In addition, the responsiveness of the support team has been a major strength. Any challenges or questions that arise are addressed promptly and professionally, making the overall experience very positive. From a value perspective, the system offers a tremendous amount of functionality for the cost, making it a very strong investment for our organization.

Cons:

Being a newer system, one challenge has been that it is still evolving, and there are a few features and enhancements we are still waiting to see completed, particularly around the automation of messaging, which we are eagerly anticipating. That said, the development team has generally met the timelines they communicated, and we have appreciated being part of the beta process and having the opportunity to provide real-time feedback that is genuinely taken into consideration. The inventory management functionality is not quite as robust as our previous system, which required some adjustment for our team. However, after becoming accustomed to the workflow, we have found it to be more than sufficient for our operational needs.

Reasons for switching to Nivo

We made the decision to switch systems in search of a platform with a stronger overall user experience and a broader set of features that our previous system did not offer.

Streamlining Safari Planning, Elevating Sales

5

As a Kenya-based safari company working with travelers around the world, Nivo has significantly improved how we manage our day-to-day operations. It brings itinerary building, booking, and payments into one place, making the process smoother for both our team and our clients. The platform is intuitive and flexible, allowing us to create highly customized itineraries while keeping everything polished and professional. It’s easy to use, saves us time, and helps us respond quickly when clients are making decisions. The support team has been outstanding—responsive, patient, and genuinely invested in our success. For us, it’s been excellent value and a smart investment in growing the business.

5

Functionality

Pros:

Nivo has brought strong efficiency and consistency to our itinerary creation process, which we previously managed manually. The ability to collect and organize client data into a clear, one-page format for our internal files is especially helpful. The payment process is simple and smooth for both us and our clients, and overall it offers excellent value for the functionality it provides.

Cons:

We’d love to see more flexibility with visuals—particularly the ability to add multiple photos within each day of an itinerary. On the backend, additional financial tracking and reporting capabilities would also be a valuable as our business grows. We’re also looking forward to the future development of a traveler-facing mobile app, which would be a great addition for clients while they are on the ground.

Reasons for choosing Nivo

Cost was higher for Wetu and their itinerary pages were a bit too complicated even though they sell it as being more expansive, it was just too much going on.

Reasons for switching to Nivo

More features and capabilities with Nivo, such as better itinerary creation, financial tracking reports and communications, customer support.

Functionality

Pros:

I love the presentation of the itinerary for my clients. The separation between day and services is helpful and intuitive. I am also appreciative that I can use my branding colors. That really makes a huge difference and increases the continuity.

Cons:

Not being able to see when itineraries have been opened / viewed. I wrote a lengthy and detailed rationale and sent to \[sensitive content hidden\] a while back, but I can't find it in my email right now. I covered the importance of this in terms of sales. I used to have this in Travefy and it really increased my sales. One reason is that I could see when potential clients viewed their trips. The general pattern was that if they viewed them once in several days, they would not buy. At that point I'd know to archive it to remove the risk of it being sent to another company etc. However, if they viewed it immediately after sending, I could tell they were very interested and it usually ended in a purchase. If they viewed it immediately but then waited a few more days - I could see that they were still interested, and I could send a well timed email that pushed them a little toward purchase. Now, I feel blind. I can't determine the best ways to support a potential sale because I'm not able to see how the person is behaving with the link. The details I sent to \[sensitive content hidden\] cover a lot more detail. I wish I could find it, but I can't - likely \[sensitive content hidden\] can. This is a feature that if a tour operator has never had it, they don't understand how effective it is. But colleagues who have had this option in Travefy have a really difficult time without it. It truly does increase sales. It's one of those things that if you've ever had it- it's really difficult to be without it. I feel blind. I'm looking forward to the implementation of this important feature.

Reasons for switching to Nivo

Note: I am not able to include all the products I've used as some are not listed. The quality of the itinerary builder was a big pull. There was a question below that I had to answer NO to because it required an answer from a set of options of which my answers were not there. The question is if I integrate other products with Nivo. The answer is yes - I am forced to since Nivo does not accept foreign currency. I use WeTravel and AirWallex to handle that. The other issue is that when clients use foreign cards - even when I choose to hand the fees off to the client, I still get charged the foreign fee amount which is usually a shocker. I don't always know which clients will be using foreign cards. I've lost anywhere from $100 to $200 due this surprise. I look forward to when every payment can be made within Nivo and without surprise fees on my side.

Real People Who Listen

Pros:

The people. I always tell them they are the most patient people I've ever met. They listen and I never have to know the technical side of anything. I can just explain a problem I'm having and they figure out how to build a solution into their platform.

Cons:

Nivo is still growing, but that's part of what makes them fun to work with. They are building something specifically for tour operators, and I like being part of that process. There are moments when a feature you are ready for isn't quite there yet, but knowing it's coming, and knowing the team is listening, makes it easier to wait.

Reasons for switching to Nivo

Nivo was actively building things we needed, while WeTravel said they'd make a note but it wasn't on the horizon.

A small but mighty company who focus is on the client.

Pros:

The team at Nivo care about the customer. I was extremely unhappy with their competition. When I voiced this on Social Media \[sensitive content hidden\] and her team contacted me within 24 hours and had a new site up and running for me within a week. My site is customized to my business without links to competitors or their logo on my page. When I published my first tour with them a past client contacted me and said how amazing the platform was. She had booked on my previous platform which she did not like. It is well organized, easy to read and tells my story the way I need it to.

Cons:

Nivo, is growing and with that come pains. As they may not have all the integrations others have yet, they are constantly upgrading and evolving which is a process. When they add new integrations emails are sent immediately.

Reasons for switching to Nivo

We travel has had me in limited access mode for over 3 years. After a run a trip they say they are going to review my account but nothing changes. I asked what the issue is but no one can tell me.
