No incentive was offered Overall, my experience with CaseGuard has been very positive. The AI-powered tracking and redaction features have significantly reduced the amount of time I spend manually redacting videos. The software does a great job tracking moving objects such as faces, heads, notebooks, and computer screens, and it performs better than other redaction software I have used. While the AI is not perfect and still requires me to review the video and make adjustments when necessary, it has saved me a considerable amount of time and made the overall redaction process much more efficient. I am still relatively new to CaseGuard, but so far I have been very impressed with its capabilities. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 5/5 - Value for money: 5/5 - Customer support: 5/5 - Functionality: 5/5 #### Pros What I like most about CaseGuard is its AI-powered ability to accurately track and redact moving objects, such as notebooks, computer screens, and people’s heads. It does a significantly better job with these types of redactions than other software I have used. The biggest benefit for me has been the amount of time it saves. I can run the AI redactions and then simply review and sort through them, rather than having to manually track and redact everything. Over the course of a day, this has saved me hours of work. #### Cons The AI tracking is very good compared to other redaction software I have used, but it is not perfect and still requires some manual review. I would like to see a facial recognition feature where, for example, if I tag a person’s head and they leave the screen, the software could recognize them when they reappear and automatically continue tracking the correct person. I am still relatively new to CaseGuard, so this may already be a feature or setting that I have not discovered yet. Overall, the tracking is better than any other redaction software I have used, but you still need to carefully review the video and make additional redactions when necessary to ensure everything is properly covered. #### Reasons for switching to CaseGuard It was taking too much time to complete redacting so I researched other redacting programs --- ### Low quality, poor service - Overall rating: 2/5 - Reviewer: Phili R. - Verified reviewer: Yes - Industry: Law Practice - Company size: 11-50 employees - Product usage: Used monthly for less than 6 months - Reviewed: December 2025 - Review source details: This review was submitted organically. No incentive was offered Our office was searching for an automated method of redacting large numbers of documents, around 30,000 pages or so. CaseGuard looked promising and I scheduled a meeting with an account executive, George. George stated that his software would be more than capable of doing what we needed and that we could likely get all of our work done on a modified one-month agreement. I downloaded the software, watched the training, and attended the in-person training with an individual named [sensitive content hidden] . She explained how the software worked (it is a local download, you do not access via an online app). I was again told that the software is more than capable of completing the work we needed. I ran the first batch of documents that night (90 files that were 50-80 pages each, well below the 30K I was told the software could handle). The majority of the files failed to process. I contacted [sensitive content hidden] who asked some questions and then scheduled another meeting with their tech person, I forgot his name. He made some changes and I was told it would work. It did not. I let him know what I saw and he made some more changes. It again failed to process the majority of the files. At this point it was clear that the capabilities of the software had been drastically oversold. I asked for a refund and was met with a request for another trouble shooting session with some work arounds, at least one of which was to process smaller batches of documents. Again, that is not what I was sold and not what I signed up for. I again requested a refund and was denied "because I have had access to the software for a month." Never mind that the software does not do what it purports to do. Suggest that you move to another solution, don't work with these people. Their conduct says everything about their organizations values and character. #### Ratings breakdown - Ease of use: 3/5 - Value for money: 1/5 - Customer support: 1/5 - Functionality: 1/5 #### Pros The initial demos and sales promises suggested powerful automation and large-scale redaction, which sounded ideal for our needs. #### Cons The software repeatedly failed on modest document batches, and refund requests were denied despite it not performing as promised. #### Reasons for choosing CaseGuard We chose CaseGuard because sales assured us it could rapidly redact very large volumes locally, avoiding higher enterprise platform costs. #### Vendor response Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry for the frustration and want to give more context. This was a one-month CaseGuard license. Our licenses are usage-based: an annual license includes 48,000 pages, which prorates to 4,000 pages per month. When submissions exceed the allowance, processing may fail or pause until additional capacity is added. In this case, total pages submitted exceeded the monthly limit purchased. To help, we provided an additional 4,000 pages at no cost and extended the license period. Our team provided onboarding, training, and troubleshooting sessions, and offered a brief follow-up call to finalize resolution, but that call was declined. While we understand the frustration, the software and services were delivered as described, and the issue was tied to usage beyond the licensed volume. Therefore, the refund request did not meet our refund policy criteria. We remain committed to transparency and good-faith support.
