### About Equip

Equip is an AI-native hiring platform that helps recruiting teams screen, assess, and interview candidates in one system. It combines an applicant tracking system, AI resume screening, skill assessments, and AI-led interviews, so teams can move from application to shortlist without switching between separate tools and spreadsheets. Each module works on its own or alongside the others, so teams can adopt one part of the workflow and expand later.

The ATS covers the full pipeline: creating job posts, hosting a careers page, configuring application forms with custom fields and screening questions, and managing candidates through stages such as shortlisted, rejected, and hired. Recruiters can assign candidates to colleagues, bulk-update stages, bulk-email applicants, use invitation and rejection templates, filter across hundreds of fields, and build custom scorecards so hiring teams rate candidates consistently. Automations move candidates between stages without manual intervention, and scheduling uses interviewer availability and candidate preferences to cut coordination emails.

AI resume screening parses incoming CVs into structured, editable data and calculates a job-fit score aga...

inst criteria the recruiter defines. Teams can bulk-upload resumes, rank applicants automatically, rediscover past applicants for new roles, and search their database in plain language, such as "backend engineers with Python and AWS." Prompts that reference protected attributes are blocked, and actions are logged for audit and compliance purposes. Skill assessments cover technical and non-technical roles: coding challenges across languages, SQL and Excel exercises, aptitude and psychometric tests, communication and English evaluations, typing tests, and video or audio responses evaluated by AI. Recruiters can assemble tests from a question bank organized by role and difficulty, upload their own questions, or generate role-specific assessments, then group them into a single assessment per job role. AI interviews run in one-way or conversational formats and are configurable per role. Interviews are transcribed and evaluated automatically, producing structured reports that sit alongside assessment results on the candidate profile, so recruiters and hiring managers review one record rather than several. Assessments are proctored with camera, microphone, and screen monitoring, ID verification, impersonation detection, device detection, session recording, and monitoring for AI tool use during tests. Each submission carries a trust score alongside the candidate's performance, which supports remote and unsupervised testing. Reporting covers pipeline health, time to hire, drop-offs, and bottlenecks without manual report building, and results from every module flow back into the candidate profile in real time. Equip follows workflows recruiters define and does not make hiring decisions on its own, keeping human review at every stage. Equip is used by in-house recruiting teams, staffing agencies, and early-career hiring programs at organizations from startups to enterprises, hiring across engineering, sales, support, and operations roles. Live chat support is available.

We have been using equip.co for the last few days and its such a relief. Screening candidates is what takes the most amount of time. Recruiter has to pick up the phone, call them and ask a bunch of questions. At best a recruiter can do may be 30 new calls in a day. Most of these candidates do not turn out to be good either. With equip, 1. We configure a bunch of questions and evaluation criteria against a job. 2. Do a quick resume screen and send the AI interview to the candidates 3. The candidates can take the AI interview when they are free (within a time limit). It takes them like 20 minutes to do this. 4. The AI transcribes the video and evaluates against your criteria and gives a nice scorecard. 5. We speak to the candidate if they cross 70% or more and we like how they express themselves. Their in app support is great too. They respond quickly if you are stuck with something. This scales well - each interview costs you a dollar and I think its worth it - we are able to do reduce the time taken to screen by a lot.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The automation of emails and AI-based question generation can significantly improve the efficiency of the recruitment and assessment process. Email automation helps reduce manual work by automatically sending interview invitations, assessment links, reminders, selection or rejection notifications, and joining instructions to candidates at the appropriate stages. This ensures timely communication and provides candidates with a smooth and professional experience.

#### Cons

The pricing model can be structured using a credit-based system, where 1 Credit is valued at INR 50. This approach provides flexibility for users, allowing them to purchase and utilize credits based on their actual requirements. Credits can be consumed for activities such as automated email generation, AI-based question generation, candidate assessments, personalized communication, and other AI-powered recruitment activities. This model makes the system easy to manage while providing transparency in usage and cost.

#### Pros

Value for money: awesome cost-benefit relationship. Easy to answer questions are great for the profiles i wanted to evaluate.

#### Cons

Set up of the profiles, its not that intuitive... at first it requires some setup because is not that clear how to evaluate hard skills.

#### Reasons for switching to Equip

Pricing, Testgorilla is insanely expensive for evaluating profiles....

#### Vendor response

Thank you for the review, Edward — a 10/10 from a CTO means a lot to us. Glad the cost-benefit worked out and that the question sets fit the profiles you were evaluating. Two things that might help right away with the setup— our library of role-based assessments comes pre-mapped to specific hard skills, so you can start from a template instead of a blank slate, and our team can co-build the first couple of profiles with you. There are short walkthrough videos for each step available for this at https://help.equip.co/en/article/getting-started-on-equip-k70o7k/ Please feel free to email our support team in case you need assistance and we will be happy to help you out with it. Equip has transformed our hiring process. It has really helped us with the insights on the person's mind we are going to hire.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5

#### Pros

The think that I liked most about Equip is that we can Quiz Creation for the candidates for our candidates.

#### Cons

the think that I liked the least is the access to camera and mic at the time a person gives the test.

#### Vendor response

Thanks for the review, Kushav. We hear you on the camera and mic prompt. Proctoring is the reason the results can be trusted, so it's required on our standard assessments, but we can help you make it feel smoother: the specific signals tracked are adjustable per test, and setting candidate expectations upfront in your invite makes a real difference to how it's received. It's also worth knowing that only you as the administrator can access a candidate's recording, through a private link. And thank you for the note about getting insight into how a candidate thinks. Hearing it's transformed your process is the best feedback we could get.

#### Pros

I particularly liked the user-friendly interface, the engaging learning experience, and the practical approach to professional development.

#### Cons

The main thing I liked least was that some parts of the experience felt a little difficult to navigate, and I sometimes wasn’t sure what the next step was. A clearer, more streamlined process would have made the experience better.

#### Vendor response

Thank you for the detailed review, Aysel. The navigation point is genuinely useful. "I wasn't sure what the next step was" is the kind of friction that's easy for us to miss internally, so we'd love to know exactly where it came up for you. If you're open to it, drop us a line to our support email and we'll make sure it reaches the product team. Thanks again for taking the time, and for the 5/5 recommendation.

### Helpful Platform for Smarter Hiring Decisions

- Overall rating: 5/5

Equip has been a very useful tool for streamlining our hiring process. The structured assessments make it easier to evaluate candidates objectively, and the platform saves time compared to traditional screening methods. While pricing and customization could be improved, the overall experience has been positive and effective.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What I liked most about Equip is how clear and structured the platform is. It makes assessing candidates straightforward, and the skills-based approach really helps surface the strongest fits without unnecessary guesswork.

#### Cons

The pricing feels a bit high, especially for smaller teams or when we are running multiple hires at once.

#### Vendor response

Thank you, Brandon — glad the structured, skills-based approach has taken the guesswork out of shortlisting for you. On pricing: for a small team, that concern is completely fair, and it's why we built Equip to be pay-per-use rather than subscription-based. You buy credits when you need them, they don't expire, and you can use the ATS, assessments, and AI interviews separately rather than paying for a bundle you don't need. Streamlining hiring while keeping the evaluation objective is the whole point of Equip, and knowing it's saving you real time against traditional screening is why we do this. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us.

### Experience using Equip for Candidate Assessments

- Reviewer: Verified Reviewer
- Verified reviewer: Yes
- Industry: Consumer Services
- Company size: 11-50 employees
- Product usage: Used monthly for less than 12 months
- Reviewed: September 2025
- Review source details: This review was submitted organically. No incentive was offered

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

With Equip, it has become easy to send assessment tests to the prospective candidates ensuring a seamless experience for both stakeholders. Additionally, Equip gives a lot of insights apart from the mere test score which enhances the reliability of the platform.

#### Cons

A couple of things where we see a scope of improvement is the trust score methodology, the parameters for which are not yet clear. Additionally, in the proctoring, if we want to review we should be able to view a few clips with video and voice together instead of images and voice notes in isolation.
