The product does what it promises and makes secure document sharing feel much simpler and more modern than many legacy alternatives. It was easy to get up and running, the platform feels thoughtfully designed, and the overall experience has been smooth for our team. We’ve also found the visibility into document activity genuinely useful, since it adds context beyond basic file sharing. The interface feels modern and intuitive, and it makes secure document sharing much more straightforward than older, more cumbersome tools. We’ve especially liked the combination of strong access controls, a polished sharing experience, and useful visibility into how recipients are engaging with documents. It solves an important business problem cleanly and professionally. #### Cons There has not been much to dislike so far. As with any newer platform, there are always areas where additional customization or more advanced workflow options could be helpful over time, but our experience has been very positive overall and the core product has delivered well. #### Reasons for choosing Peony We considered other options, especially DocSend, but Peony stood out on value. DocSend felt too expensive for our stage, while Peony provided the core functionality we needed at a much more startup-friendly price point. It gave us a better balance of cost, usability, and data room access. #### Reasons for switching to Peony We switched from PaperMark primarily because Peony was a better fit for our budget and use case. As a startup, cost matters, and Peony offered a more accessible path to data room functionality without requiring a multi-user plan. Onboarding for us was easy, as was communication and responses from the team. Great team. Great product, and definitely worth a recommendation, especially at this price point....incredible. #### Cons There are very few areas which cause issue so this is harder to nail down. Customisable links to send to visitors would be a strong start, as I would prefer to have our own logo and text preferences. It would also be helpful to have the ability to amend uploaded images to fit the banner, but that's not exactly a major issue #### Reasons for choosing Peony delivery per dollar is far greater with Peony #### Reasons for switching to Peony far too expensive for what they offer. Most of them seemed overcomplicated, had very unfriendly user interfaces (especially for individual investors), or were lacking in the types of security elements I would have hoped to see in today's environment. Peony checked all the boxes while staying elegant, easeful, and streamlined for our team and for our investors. I personally love the interface. My favorite feature they offer is watermarking bolstered by other high-tech security features that ensure the confidentiality of our documentation. I believe these features will only become more important over time and were not available on other platforms. #### Cons The only "con" I could spot was investor familiarity with other conventional platforms; however, I'd rather us be unique while supporting other startups. #### Reasons for choosing Peony Peony has much easier to use and cleaner interface for our team and for our investors. When I did a trial with DocSend, it took to0 long to set up the data rooms and generate share links. Excellent value and customer experience -- all the key features of the upper Docsend tiers at a fraction of the price, but the decision was definitely not about price and more about the modern experience (for both fundraisers and prospective investors) that Peony provides with both design and functionality. Nice flexibility for data rooms to have combinations of embedded file types, videos, web links and more. Doesn't have the third-party management features of Docsend, but not missing that too much, managing more through shared-use links with portal registration. #### Cons No major frictions thus far. Only issues/questions the team quickly addressed. It was easy to navigate through out the platform as well as setting up our data room. #### Cons When signing the NDA, it seems to be one letter off or it does not recognize initial letter of name. However, it is corrected after pressing enter/return. Custom NDA was a bit of a learning curve but support was quick to respond. They helped us understand the platform and they helped us fix the issues. Peony is very easy to use and allowed us to set up a smart looking dataroom for a fair price. It's easy to set up folders in any way you want to control who sees which documents and then you can see who looked at what and for how long. The team are also really responsive to suggestions for changes/new features. One thing I like is that instead of making you create an account with a password, you just put your email and then it sends a code. Same for viewers, it makes it easy for them to login, which can be a huge barrier for some investors. #### Cons Peony is new and they are working on ways to improve it. I asked them for a consolidated analytics view across versions (because founders update materials a lot) and they added it to the roadmap. #### Reasons for choosing Peony Features and price.
