It does one job properly: create a professional invoice, get it in front of the client, and get it paid. There is no chart of accounts to set up and no bookkeeping jargon to learn. Most businesses send their first invoice within ten minutes of signing up. Invoices and quotes are SARS compliant out of the box. VAT is calculated per line at the standard rate, tax invoice titles and client VAT numbers are handled for VAT registered businesses, and invoice numbers are gapless so your records hold up at audit time. Add your logo, brand colour, banking details, payment terms and notes, choose a template, and every document looks like it came from an established company. Quotes carry terms and conditions, follow up reminders and internal notes, and convert to invoices in one click when the client accepts. Delivery is where Rebill differs from generic tools. Every invoice can go out by email and by WhatsApp at the same time. WhatsApp messages are opened far more often than email, so invoices get seen and paid sooner. Clients tap a Pay Now link and pay by c... ard or instant EFT through Paystack, Yoco, PayFast or iKhokha. Money settles directly into your bank account and Rebill charges no commission on top of the gateway fee. Manual payments, EFTs and cash are recorded against the invoice, and a bank statement CSV import matches incoming transactions to open invoices for you. Chasing money is automated. Automatic payment reminders go out by email or WhatsApp on the schedule you set, before and after the due date. Late fees can be added automatically to overdue invoices. Recurring invoices are created and sent on a weekly, monthly or yearly cycle, and one off invoices can be scheduled for a future date. A client portal gives each customer a login where they can see every invoice, quote and statement, download PDFs and pay outstanding amounts without contacting you. Rebill also covers the admin around invoicing. Track expenses and recurring expenses by category and supplier, raise purchase orders, attach files to catalogue items, and issue client statements for any period with a running payment ledger and credit carry over. Invoice in multiple currencies when you work with clients outside South Africa. Multiple team members can share one account, with a team report showing who raised what. Reporting is designed for a small business owner, not an accountant. The dashboard shows outstanding, receipts, revenue and net invoice totals for the month, a revenue trend, aging buckets and a needs attention list. Reports cover revenue by period, outstanding and aging, clients, expenses, profit and loss, projected income, a VAT201 summary with output and input VAT for any tax period, and a tax set aside estimate so provisional tax never catches you out. Everything exports to CSV for your accountant. Financial year, business timezone and locale are configurable. Security and privacy are built in. Client and financial data is encrypted with AES 256, the platform is hosted on Google Cloud, and Rebill is POPIA ready. An API and webhooks are available on Premium for businesses that want to connect Rebill to their own systems. Pricing is simple. The Free plan has no time limit and no credit card required: 10 invoices and 5 quotes a month, 5 clients, expense tracking, purchase orders, client portal, statements, bank import and reports. That said, the custom fields have actually allowed me to set things up in a way that works well for my practice.
