### About HushAsk

HushAsk is an anonymous messaging tool designed for Slack. It allows employees to submit questions without revealing their identity, supporting open workplace communication. The tool is often used in human resources and for building internal knowledge bases.

The platform employs SHA-256 cryptographic hashing with a private salt to anonymize sender identities. Original user IDs are permanently discarded and cannot be recovered. Employees can route messages to confidential HR channels for sensitive topics or to public channels for general inquiries. Completed public question threads can be archived with custom summary titles, creating a searchable knowledge base. Employees can edit or retract their anonymous messages before receiving a response. Routing data is deleted after replies are delivered.

HushAsk operates as a native Slack application, accessible through direct messages or the /ha slash command. It maintains privacy by excluding message content from application logs and storing information only for delivery purposes. Administrators manage channel configurations and routing settings through the App Home interface.
