Companies use it to run their own payment card programs, issuing cards under their own brand to their own customers or employees, without building issuing infrastructure or securing card scheme sponsorship themselves. The typical buyer is a platform: a cryptocurrency exchange, digital wallet, neobank, fintech, brokerage, or spend management product whose users want a card. Building that capability in-house means negotiating scheme sponsorship, securing BINs, integrating a processor and standing up a compliance stack before the first card exists. Interlace supplies all of it through a single API, with programs running on its own 30+ card BINs. What a program includes: Cards are issued virtually or physically, under the client's own branding and card design. Each card carries its own spend limits (per transaction, per day, per month) alongside merchant category restrictions and merchant allowlists. Cardholders are created programmatically and organised into sub-accounts, so balances and controls stay separated by user, team or client. Cards can be frozen, unfrozen or cancelled through the API or an admin console, and tokenised into Apple P... ay and Google Wallet. Compliance and program structure: KYC for individuals, KYB for businesses, and KYT and AML transaction screening are built into the issuing flow rather than sourced separately. Card data is handled under PCI DSS Level 1. Interlace operates through licensed entities in Hong Kong, the United States and Canada. Clients choose between two program structures. In Merchant-of-Record mode, Interlace holds more of the regulatory relationship, which suits teams that want a lighter compliance burden. In Gateway mode, the client holds the customer relationship and Interlace supplies the rails. The choice affects both compliance workload and commercial model, and is usually settled during scoping. Funding and settlement: Programs can be funded in fiat or in stablecoins (USDC and USDT), and settle across 40+ currencies, with cards spending in 180+ countries. For platforms whose customers hold stablecoin balances, this removes the separate off-ramp step that would otherwise sit between a balance and a purchase. Timelines: An API-integrated program typically goes live 14 to 21 days after contract. For teams without engineering capacity, a no-code option launches a branded program in three days, with the option to migrate to direct API integration later. AI agent cards: Interlace also issues cards to AI agents. These hold a zero balance until an authorised transaction triggers just-in-time funding, and are constrained by merchant allowlists, time-window restrictions, online-only enforcement and per-transaction caps.
