Cons: i really wish it had a remote manager/ remote access feature. this is something that can really push a lot of admins to buy the software. additionally, i wish there were more intermediate app deployment options for users and an ability to notify a user when they have a new blueprint or app. finally, i wish they had better custom PPPC configuration options on mac. We chose this solution because when comparing it with incumbents they had the least barrier to entry and the most functionality for the price . Since implementing it, we’ve seen improvements in compliance with our policies through enforcement and fewer tickets to the IT team regarding installing corporate software, and I especially loves how easy it is to deploy new apps and policies across the fleet. The support team is so quick to answer and willing to really hop in and help build out solutions Cons: One of the challenges we've faced with Kandji is that since they are newer than incumbents like JAMF some third party providers dont have explicit instructions for setting up their products with Kandji and you have to work a bit harder to implement. It allows me to manage the devices, deploy and enforce applications, apply group policies, wipe, DEP, and bypass any personal end user activation locks. Setup and deployment is very easy and pretty easy to learn to administor. UI is clean, modern, and easy to navigate. Enrolling macOS devices either manually or through ABM/ADE/DEP is very straightforward and works as expected. Device management when enrolled is great. You have to somehow physically remediate or resolve the issue before the alert is cleared. They also charge you in batches of 25 devices/licenses only. We had a few initial goals in mind, first was to get a good out of the box experience with new Macs, and once we linked Kandji with Apple Business Manager, that was done. Second was to enable Mac users to use their Okta credentials on their machines so we didn't have separate usernames and passwords and, Mac accounts adhered to our organization's complexity policy and change requirements. Third was to enforce encrypted hard drives and to escrow the keys. Kandji obviously does so much more but our basic requirements were met on day one.
