Asana is a Good Product

PROS

One of the many helpful parts of Asana is the fact that you receive daily alerts that a task needs to be completed. This makes saying you 'forgot' much harder!

CONS

My only wish in this area for Asana is that when I want to assign colors to project tabs I have trouble getting our brand colors saved.

Not innovative enough

I worked with Asana for 5.5 years and then transitioned to Monday. The switch to Monday was challenging for me, and I was excited to return to working with Asana. However, I am now disappointed because the product development at Asana is not on par with Monday. It lacks dashboard widgets and sophisticated automations, and the integrations are limited.

PROS

If you want to do simple project and task management with Asana, it will do the job.

CONS

Very limited integrations and automations. It pales in comparison to Monday.

Great for organizing workflow and managing multiple projects.

I'm utilizing it to keep track of the errands I've wiped out a day, also I'm utilizing it to track the advance of assignments alloted to my team, I'm utilizing it to gather information from different individuals working inside the organization on different divisions, reminds me of pending errands and makes a difference me prioritize my work. We have made a dashboard utilizing custom labels to track the invoices we prepare for our affirmations office so able to visualize our budget. We have too utilized it for overseeing long-term projects that require diverse levels of endorsement. We moreover utilize it for 1:1 gatherings so ready to track advance towards execution objectives and celebrate the delicate objectives we hit.

PROS

Asana gives me a sense of calm and center by letting me see my week by week to-dos in one put, keeping me in match up on large-scale ventures, and has gotten to be our team's single trusted source for much of what we do. Asana could be a exceptionally simple app to utilize, but it offers a vigorous set of features and integrative that make it simple to associate with other stages like Slack, Zoom, or Google Workspace. Asana makes a difference our organization to in total work on a extend consistently, we are able make, dole out and oversee errands with the most prominent of ease, it makes a difference us break a huge extend into small assignments and relegate them to numerous group individuals where they can work and upgrade the advance within the depiction box implanted within the assignment menu. Keep in mind errands that are due on a certain date to assist us prioritize our work.

CONS

There are a few highlights that aren't that develop however, such as objectives and KPI following, the desktop moreover needs a few of the online highlights, and it's moreover a bit troublesome to get to extend and assignment IDs in this environment (which are required for a few integrative). In the event that a errand is to be doled out to numerous individuals it won't let you are doing it, other than that on the off chance that you're working on one task from a long list of errands and you have got to move on to the following errand you wish to go back to the past ace errand to move on to the next. It does not deliver you the consolation of moving on to the another errand from the past one, that's exceptionally time expending when we are working beneath weight.

Practical tool for planning and scheduling projects and managing tasks.

The key issue we are addressing is keeping medium and long-term projects organized in one location, especially when numerous people or departments are involved. Being able to establish schedules is also very important for tracking progress. We have also discovered that Asana may be beneficial for tasks that we previously performed in an Excel spreadsheet, such as establishing our yearly budget, whether you are working in a team or managing projects and people on your own, with or without expertise managing resources. In comparison to other systems, tracking project progress, bottlenecks, recovery, and efficiency is not a huge issue when using Asana remotely or in a typical office environment.

PROS

I like being able to click "My Tasks" to see what I need to prioritize depending on deadlines, including multi-workflow projects; it helps me remain on top of my work and guarantee I get everything done on time. With Asana, an easy-to-use project management application that is useful even for rookie or inexperienced users, creating, scheduling, and managing operational workflow, development projects, and team performance becomes simple and comfortable.

CONS

I dislike it when random people in my workplace assign me jobs in Asana with no context or explanation; I believe there should be an option to refuse assignments or seek extra information before they are automatically placed to their task list. Asana is a straightforward and easy-to-use application, however beginner users may struggle to utilize it when they are unfamiliar with how to use it, for example, for project Gantt charts, plan time tracking, and other comparable project functions. counterpart software.

Great Project Management tool!

I have had a great experience with Asana, I think I've used it for 5 years already and have never been disappointed. I love the way we have so many projects in there, and how we can assign tasks to others to make sure we don't miss anything, with due dates, notes, files, and so on. I also love that since it's so easy to be used, there's no need to give a long training to new team members.

PROS

What I like the most about Asana is how it's pleasantly visually and also so easy to use! You can have so many projects in there, organized by tasks, due dates, team members, files, notes, etc. It helps the team have everything they need to perform a task in one single place, and also the information is well recorded.

CONS

I don't like the price too much, but we have tried some other programs and we always come back to Asana cause at the end, it's better than those other options we have tried.

Asana Review

Overall, Asana is a quality online project and task management tool that can help teams stay organized and productive. However, users may need to upgrade to a paid version to access all features.

PROS

What I like most is how easy it is for users to collaborate and communicate on assigned tasks, as well as the ability to integrate with many third-party applications.

CONS

What I like least is that some features are limited in the free version. For example, users are limited to a certain number of project boards and teams, and cannot access all reporting features.

Asana for Digital Agencies

I solved the workload of every member of my team and the priority of each task. I was able to have a clear and open vision of the situation with each client and deliver their requests on time. It was very helful to us.

PROS

I used Asana for 1-2 years while I was working on a Social Media Agency. It helped me a lot to organize my team. I was able to track all the tasks in their differents stages and also I could know the workload of every member of my team. Also I integrated Asana with my Gmail and created tasks from there, very easy and quickly.

CONS

When I started using Asana, I had trouble copying and pasting images directly from the email body. Then when they achieved integration with Gmail, this was resolved. Also, email notifications were quite annoying until I learned how to disable them. Maybe they could add a feature to only send email notifications for important tasks.

Reason for choosing Asana

Because it was easier for the whole team to understand how it works. The visualization of the tasks is friendlier than the Trello cards.

Best Platform for Project/Team Management

Initially it was a bit overwhelming to set up and sort through all of the features and uses, but once you work with your team and figure out a system it is hands down the most useful and intuitive workspace / task management platform. There are always new features and integrations to be learned which is great to experiment and use as you grow with the platform.

PROS

The best part about Asana is how customizable it is in so many different facets, you can really tailor it to the needs of your specific team and project. The amount of functions that it has and its ability to integrate other apps and services within it makes it extremely versatile and intelligent once you customize it to all of your needs. I also enjoy that there is a mobile app version.

CONS

With all of its endless functionality tools - it can be a bit daunting in setting up the ideal layout and structure of use for your team. There are so many options and features that can make the software seem almost too sophisticated and complicated for everyday use. Not exactly user friendly up front, but once you figure it out and are patient in working out tailoring your workspace it is very useful and covers all bases.

Reason for choosing Asana

Overall product reviews, feedback from others who have used Asana, and the number of features and functionalities.

Reasons for switching to Asana

We needed a platform that was a little bit more in depth and had more features and options for integration. Our team did not seem to sync with Trello so we made the switch.

Vendor Response

Thank you so much for your kind words, Ciera. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us and we're glad Asana fits your team needs! Setting conventions with you team can be a helpful way to make sure everyone in your team is aligned and working by the same principles. If I only had ONE tool, this would be it.

I use Asana every day, and it's the first thing I fire up in the morning. I can check it's inbox to see if there are any pressing issues or communications (if I hadn't already seen it in the app), and then run down my tasks which are displayed just as I've set them up. My projects are listed in the order that makes sense to me, and tasks are scheduled, communications, files, etc., all available at a click. It even talks to Toggl, so I can track my time effortlessly. As a one-man agency, I've been able to take on much more work using Asana than if I'd tried to manage everything the old way. Before I used Asana, I tried to manage projects, service and other communications via email, labels, etc., but there's just no comparison. If you make the transition to Asana, you'll be a better coordinator, project manager, business person, etc. You won't be able to help it. ;)

PROS

Asana is a very capable project coordination platform. It's very easily customized to fit my individual workflow, and extremely intuitive. I share access with some of my clients to allow them to create, edit and update tasks. I love the way this tool weans stakeholders from the jungle of email.

CONS

I wish there were a mid-level pricing tier for entrepreneurs to take advantage of some of the pro-level features, but not have to commit to the fairly pricy upgrade. Don't get me wrong, it's probably very worth it to upgrade, but I'd rather be able to choose the features that would benefit me at a reduced price rather than buy the upgrade for one or two I really want. Like when we had to buy an album just to get the 2 songs we really wanted, lol!

Reason for choosing Asana

I looked at Trello, but it seemed a little busy and clunky. I needed something intuitive, and Asana just seemed more user-friendly to me.

Asana is my ABSOLUTE GO TO for task and project management

I switched from Trello to Asana and I truly enjoy using Asana almost because I feel there is a gamification feeling in getting my daily wins accomplished. I literally look at Asana at least 5 times per day and almost always before I end my day to see what my plan of action will be for tomorrow.

PROS

The fact that I can manage my daily tasks seamlessly both on my desktop computer and on my iPhone mobile application.

CONS

Sometimes the copy and paste function doesn't work as I would like it to to take a similar task, copy it and then modify it. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong.

Reason for choosing Asana

I really like the layout of the tasks management section both on the web browser and the Mobile application. Mainly I like the tasks being organized in a vertical fashion in Asana as opposed to the card fashion in Trello which I didn't like as much.

Reasons for switching to Asana

To be honest, Trello was having a server issue one day and I was locked out from seeing my tasks and I felt lost that day. I immediately switched to Asana which I had also used in the past but it wasn't yet my main daily task manager.

An Advanced Version of Trello

Overall, we have been very pleased with Asana. From a team project management standpoint and for keeping individual tasks organized and prioritized, Asana is a step up from Trello. I would recommend this for distributed teams working on various projects (with or without other business unites) who are looking to get and stay organized.

PROS

Asana operates similarly to a Trello board, but has more features and functionality, making it a better investment for teams and individual contributors. Asana enables you to both track tasks along a customizable set of groups and track/prioritize tasks for individuals and teams. Not only that, Asana's interface makes it easy to have and store conversations pertaining to project success with real-time alerts when a new comment is added. It has made working with my team and other business units much easier!

CONS

Asana does have some limited functionality that can result in lengthy conversations within each project "card." Because you are unable to link text, you must paste the full URL, which can get messy when you are adding 5-10 URLs to outside pages/docs/etc. We also cannot add rich text features like tables, which would prevent us from creating a GoogleDoc with the table and adding the link to the text thread. Small inconveniences, but inconveniences nonetheless.

Reasons for switching to Asana

Trello had some limitations and had become harder to manage for our organization. We were looking for a fresh start.
