Pros/Cons
Pros
- Love how the forms work as well as public sharing, it's just better than Airtable's setup here. Something nice about the cloud-based version.
- The free tier is super generous, making it an easy recommendation for many clients to just test the waters first before committing to the product full on.
- I probably like the functionality and having the ability to self host the product is very important to be able to fully customize and align it with the institution's requirement.
Cons
- In base row hidden items remain hidden, which makes the entire feature worthless. Also, the controls, are as worthless as airtable, and are not compatible with mobile devices, in imbed / I Frame mode.
- The worst feature by far is typography. The emphasis is on the structure rather than the content.
- There are many basic features missing when compared to Airtable, such as Group By.
Pros
- Kintone is very impressive tool for handling multiple projects with it's rich features like task management, progress tracking, reporting, etc. It's very easy to use and offers great UI for all users.
- Analyst in the utility industry, I was impressed with the ease of use of the Kintone product and the ability to come up to speed to develop a useful program.
- Its a great repository for all of the specifications of each project and a great and easy tool for historical lookback when we have to reference old projects and do re-prints of books.
Cons
- When a use case requires someone to access an extremely limited amount of information, it's difficult to justify the cost of those additional licenses.
- Tiny inconveniences, stuff like the lack of a quick way to enter a DOB into a date field; stuck having to scroll by months.
- Eform logic is limited without development scripting.
