Pros/Cons
Pros
- I am very happy with my experience. Clients receive an excellent tax return that is prepared well thanks to the software.
- I like the most that it is user friendly and easy to maneuver. The input flows through seamlessly to the tax return and provides an accurate return.
- The software is very simple to use initially, but has some fun tricks you can pick up on with repeated use. It's very well organized, and has a lot of strong built-in tools.
Cons
- Poor tech support and poor installation services.
- Spent 2 weeks trying to add a state. Worse than on hold with the IRS.
- This may cause the entire Microsoft Suite to lock up or freeze, which can create severe issues if the user is not diligent in saving their work.
Pros
- Ultra tax is a great software where they have every form tax related to each state and federal. Ultra tax is a good job to keep updating to the newest versions of all forms as tax laws keep changing.
- The software is pretty robust. I use ACS (bookkeeping), Ultratax, and FileCabinet daily, and it works well for me.
- This is another great product by Thomson Reuters. TR puts a lot of thought, money and effort into their products.
Cons
- Using UltraTax CS in the cloud setting has been frustrating at times due to the hosting.
- Quickbooks did not covert well, although we were reassured by the sales people that they did it all the time. They have lied to me every step of the way.
- Can be difficult to understand and become used to.
