# monday.com AI Work Platform User Reviews

## Reviews summary

- Overall rating: 4.6/5
- Total reviews: 6,098

### Secondary ratings

- Ease of use: 4.5/5
- Customer support: 4.4/5
- Value for money: 4.3/5
- Functionality: 4.5/5

### Rating distribution

- 5 stars: 3,971 reviews (65%)
- 4 stars: 1,734 reviews (28%)
- 3 stars: 319 reviews (5%)
- 2 stars: 51 reviews (1%)
- 1 star: 23 reviews (0%)

### Most mentioned pros

- The interface is vibrant and engaging, which actually encourages the team to keep their status updates current—something we struggled with using more sterile tools. While the pricing tiers can be a bit steep as you scale, the time saved through automations and the clarity gained through custom dashboards makes it a worthwhile investment for teams that value transparency.
- It allows you to customize workflows according to your business needs, which is especially useful for managing projects, tracking tasks, and collaborating across teams.
- We rely heavily on it for task tracking, deliverable management, and internal communication workflows. When set up properly, it drives efficiency and ensures work is completed to a high standard.

### Most mentioned cons

- There's also a learning curve around process management — building multi-board workflows with dependencies and linked items feels unintuitive at first, and I ran into a few bugs where automations fired twice or didn't trigger at all (though this seemed to resolve itself after a day).
- This can also be solved to an extent with Connect Boards, but I've often found that the sum of these features is a clunky experience where no true linkage between cards and boards can be made without significant high-touch workarounds.
- monday.com requires a minimum of three paid users, and essential features (Gantt charts, time tracking, advanced reporting) are often locked behind more expensive tiers. Although functional, the mobile app doesn’t always match desktop capabilities and has some issues.

### A highly visual and customizable Work OS for tracking complex automation and development workflows

In my daily operations, Monday.com has become the central hub for managing test automation projects, bug tracking, and AI and WhatsApp bot deployment pipelines. It allows the team to map out the entire lifecycle of a script or flow, from the initial QA requirements gathering to the final integration phase. Being able to quickly glance at a board and instantly know if a specific test case passed or if a bot flow is pending review provides incredible clarity. It easily handles the structured processes required for technical QA work while remaining flexible enough for quick agile adjustments.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Monday.com excels at providing a flexible environment that adapts to almost any workflow. The most outstanding aspects include: Ease of Use & Features: The user interface is incredibly intuitive, colorful, and visually appealing. You can set up a new workspace in minutes, and the rich feature set—including diverse views like Kanban, Gantt, and Dashboards—makes data visualization simple. Task Management: Assigning owners, setting deadlines, and tracking granular tasks is seamless. The custom columns allow for highly specific data entry tailored to precise project needs. Process Management: It truly shines when handling multi-stage processes. The native automation recipes eliminate repetitive manual updates, automatically moving items across boards as their statuses change or notifying team members when a specific phase is complete.

#### Cons

While it is a powerful platform, there are a few drawbacks depending on the scale of your operations: Bugs and Issues: While generally stable, boards with a massive amount of data, complex dependencies, or heavy automation rules can occasionally experience minor UI lag or slow load times. Customer Support: For basic queries, the knowledge base is great. However, getting rapid, specialized phone or direct support for complex API integrations or advanced billing questions can sometimes take longer than expected. Pricing Structure Constraints: The per-seat pricing model requires you to buy licenses in specific increments (e.g., blocks of 5). This can be a bit frustrating for smaller teams if you only need to add one extra user.

#### Reasons for switching to monday.com AI Work Platform

I switched because we needed a platform with stronger process management and built-in automations. Our previous tool was either too basic for tracking complex QA workflows or too rigidly structured. Monday.com offered the perfect middle ground, allowing us to build custom boards that perfectly track our bot development and testing cycles

Overall, very negative. I think that monday.com is a platform that is behind the times, and showing that they recently cut over 20% of their staff shows that they are potentially seeing a decent amount of competitive pressure.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 2/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 1/5

#### Pros

Honestly, not much. I suppose when I was on the Enterprise plan, we did have a decent CSM in the Customer Support team, but overall my experience was incredibly poor.

#### Cons

Let me just say this: for how flexible most project management software is, it blows my mind how incredibly difficult it is to manage tasks and processes within monday.com. The complete lack of features such as having automated tasks out of the box is insane. Plus, it seems like they are always having major outages. It wouldn't surprise me if they had a major outage once a week that left monday.com completely unusable for a good portion of the work day.

#### Reasons for switching to monday.com AI Work Platform

We were forced to by my parent company, and it was a mistake to let them make us move over because it is terrible.

### Flexible, intuitive and practical for everyday project management

- Product usage: Used daily for less than 2 years

Overall, my experience has been very positive. We mainly use monday.com to organize projects, track tasks, manage deadlines, and keep project-related information visible to the whole team. What stands out most is the balance between flexibility and ease of use. New team members can understand the basic workflow quickly, while more experienced users can build detailed processes with custom views and automations. It has made our project management more transparent and reduced the need to constantly ask for status updates. There are still areas where complex workspaces could be easier to manage, which is why I would rate it 4 rather than 5 stars, but it has become a reliable part of our daily workflow.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I like how quickly monday.com turns complex project information into something visual and easy to manage. The interface is intuitive, and features like customizable boards, different views, automations, status updates, and dependencies make everyday project management much more practical. I especially appreciate being able to adapt the same workspace to different types of projects without creating an overly complicated process. It has significantly reduced the amount of manual follow-up needed across our team.

#### Cons

The flexibility can sometimes become a disadvantage as the number of boards, automations, and custom fields grows. Without a clear structure, a workspace can become cluttered and harder to navigate over time. Some advanced features also require more setup and experimentation than the core experience. I would also like to see certain AI and automation capabilities feel more seamlessly integrated into everyday workflows rather than requiring additional configuration.

monday.com has been a very positive experience on the projects I implemented it. It is intuitive, visually clear, and easy to customize for different workflows. I especially like how it helps to keep tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities organized in one place. The interface makes it simple to see project status at a glance, which has improved communication and reduced confusion with the clients and across the team. The platform is flexible enough to handle different kinds of projects, and the automations save time on repetitive work. Setup was straightforward, and once got used to it, adoption was smooth. The only downside is that some of the more advanced features take time to learn, and pricing can increase as the team grows. Overall, it is a strong solution for project management and team collaboration.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Easy to use and visually organized. Simple, flexible, and effective for team workflows Highly customizable workflows. Good for collaboration and task tracking. Useful automations that save time. A solid project management tool with room to improve

#### Cons

Advanced features can take time to learn. Pricing may become expensive when building a team for a specific project.

#### Reasons for switching to monday.com AI Work Platform

I switched from Slack to monday.com because I needed structured project and task management instead of relying only on chat. monday.com makes it easier to see who is doing what, by when, and to keep ongoing work organized instead of buried in conversations.

My experience with the monday.com AI Work Platform has been overwhelmingly positive. It has significantly enhanced our team's workflow by automating tedious administrative work and making data more digestible. While it requires a human touch for highly specific project requirements, it has been an invaluable asset in accelerating our day-to-day operations and keeping our projects organized.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

he monday.com AI assistant has completely transformed my workflow management. With simple text prompts, I can generate comprehensive project boards, itemize action plans, and draft updates in seconds. The AI-powered status summaries are particularly impressive, saving me hours of manual review across complex projects. It truly feels like having an additional assistant on my team.

#### Cons

The AI features in monday.com have felt underwhelming and gimmicky for our team’s daily operations. The automated task generation typically produces generic timelines that require significant manual editing, making the tool feel more like a basic template generator than an intelligent system capable of understanding our specific business needs. I would like to see a more deeply integrated, context-aware AI experience that adds genuine efficiency to our workflow rather than extra administrative overhead.

### Powerful and Flexible Work Management Tool with Room for Improvement

Overall, my experience with monday.com has been positive. It is a powerful tool for organizing work, improving team collaboration, and increasing productivity. While there is a learning curve at the beginning, once the platform is properly configured, it becomes a central hub for managing operations efficiently. It’s particularly valuable for teams looking for a customizable and scalable solution.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

What I liked most about monday.com is its flexibility and visual interface. It allows you to customize workflows according to your business needs, which is especially useful for managing projects, tracking tasks, and collaborating across teams. The dashboards and automations help reduce manual work and provide clear visibility of progress in real time. Integration with other tools is also a strong advantage.

#### Cons

One of the main downsides is pricing, which can become expensive as your team grows or if you need advanced features. Additionally, some automations and integrations are limited depending on the plan. At times, the platform can feel overwhelming for new users due to the number of options and configurations available.

#### Reasons for choosing monday.com AI Work Platform

I chose monday.com over other alternatives like Asana, Trello, or ClickUp because of its balance between flexibility, usability, and visual project management. Unlike simpler tools such as Trello, which are mainly limited to Kanban boards, monday.com offers multiple views (timeline, calendar, dashboards) that allow better control of complex projects. Another key reason is its high level of customization. monday.com allows you to adapt workflows, fields, and automations to fit different business processes, rather than forcing teams into a rigid structure. This makes it suitable for both operational and strategic use cases. Additionally, its visual interface and ease of use make onboarding faster compared to more complex tools. Teams can quickly understand task status, ownership, and priorities without heavy training, which is critical for adoption. Finally, the availability of built-in automations, integrations, and customizable dashboards helps centralize work and reduce manual effort, making it a more scalable solution compared to many alternatives.

### Easy to Start, but Requires Structure to Deliver Full Value

- Overall rating: 5/5

Monday.com is a user-friendly, visually clean platform that is quick to get started with and helps reduce manual work through simple automation, making it a strong fit for teams that want something straightforward and not overly technical. However, rolling it out across teams, especially with structured workflows and AI, adds complexity that is not immediately obvious. Without clear workflow design, practical training, and a phased approach, usage can become inconsistent and AI features are often underutilised. Overall, while the platform is easy to adopt, getting full value from it requires more structure, guidance, and change management than initially expected.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Monday.com is a really easy-to-use project management tool that stands out for its clean, visual layout and quick setup, you can get the hang of it pretty fast without much training. The automation features are a big plus, helping you cut down on repetitive tasks with simple, no-code rules, although they can feel a bit limited if you’re working on more complex projects or lower-tier plans. Customer support is generally reliable and available around the clock, with helpful guides and quick responses, even if more complicated issues sometimes take longer to resolve. Overall, it’s a great option if you want something straightforward, efficient, and not overly technical.

#### Cons

Monday.com is easy to pick up and works well at a basic level, but things get more complicated when you try to roll it out properly across teams, especially with AI and structured workflows. People might start using it, but without clear guidance, they often use it inconsistently or don’t use the AI features effectively. If too much is introduced at once, it can feel overwhelming, and teams end up only using it on the surface. So while it looks simple, getting real, consistent value from it takes more planning, clearer workflows, and a more phased approach than expected.

#### Reasons for choosing monday.com AI Work Platform

It was a better product offer, both on pricing and overall solution

I have had an outstanding experience with Monday.com! I led a deep review of project management platforms with my former employer, and our execution and use of Monday was so smooth and successful that I have implemented it at my current organization. This will always be my top choice for usability, user friendliness, and a great competetive cost that gives outstanding functionality without breaking the bank.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

We went through a review of various project management platforms and ultimately settled on monday for several reasons. First it has some of the best help files of any software service I have used, ever. The help and instructions site is amazing because the information is available in multiple formats, like text and video, not just one or the other, so the information is available in the manner in which the user learns best. It is also set up so that different preferences can be accomodated. For example if someone tends to work well with color coding, but someone else works best with lists both can be set up. The ability to see the status of multiple tasks or projects at once is really helpful, and now they have expanded their templates and integrated AI so it is even easier and more effective for basic users

#### Cons

I honestly dont have a lot of downsides. Any issues I have had I have always been able to solve by going to the help files.

#### Reasons for choosing monday.com AI Work Platform

Price, ease of use by the users, ability for users to customize their own experience to make it work better for them, and overall price for functionality

#### Ratings breakdown

The ease of use and value for what you get is great. I think once the whole team is onboard and understands how to properly use it, it can be a really powerful tool for our company.

#### Cons

There is no onboarding or customer service that you can call into, so you have to figure a lot of it out on your own but the platform is very easy to navigate and they do try to make it as intuitive as possible for the users. The AI Chatbot is very helpful as well it just takes a little time to know how to set up your account correctly.

Monday.com has helped our team stay organized. The ability to customize boards for different projects is a major advantage, and automations reduce manual tasks.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

I like that it has a clean visual interface that makes tracking tasks easy. It has highly customizable boards, strong collaboration features, and automation that saves time.

Pricing may be higher for small teams compared to simpler options. Dashboards can occasionally lag or fail to update in real time, though these issues are rare.

I'm wedded to monday.com. I use it every day, my whole consultancy and delivery business runs through it, and I'd recommend it to anyone in a similar position. It's the one piece of software I genuinely value — I'd switch search engines, social platforms or office suites without much thought, but project management lives here. My honest worry is the long term: as my data, systems and interlinkages deepen, the cost of leaving rises, and I've already seen functionality removed and pricing creep up. I've made peace with the limitations and built workarounds, but I'd be lying if I said I felt entirely secure as a customer.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 2/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

Easy to use and intuitive — the interface is colourful and people generally just "get it", which makes it brilliant for communicating with teams and clients. Customer support is genuinely excellent. The AI chatbot is more capable than most — it once correctly diagnosed three separate software issues from a screen recording I sent. When you get passed to a human agent, they're consistently helpful; one recently sent me a follow-up video tutorial after working through a Gantt rollup problem with me. The biggest win for my consultancy has been capacity planning. Combining timelines, estimated hours and dependencies in the Gantt view, then pulling that into a team capacity dashboard alongside a separate board tracking holidays, sickness and training, lets us instantly spot blockages and have honest conversations with clients about realistic deadlines. That alone has changed how we run the business. The item/subitem structure suits long-running work perfectly — some of our forestry projects span 5–10 years, with subitems as the discrete tasks within them. Linking each item to a single Google Workspace file means I never go to Drive to find anything; I just search monday. Board linking works well, and the timesheet dashboard helps keep productivity visible across teams.

#### Cons

Time tracking is genuinely poor for a tool that markets itself as team-based. Two people can't track time on the same item simultaneously, and you can't meaningfully export hours by client or subitem, so it ends up being little more than a clock you copy figures from. Dependency assignment in Gantt view is clumsy. Instead of clicking the item above, you have to type its name and pick from a list — painful when you have multiple similarly-named items. Worse, when you duplicate an item with subitems and dependencies, the dependencies in the duplicate link back to the original's subitems rather than the new ones. There's no clean workaround, so we avoid duplicating altogether. Gantt charts don't export to PDF reliably — the view often misaligns and you can't correct it. Labels sometimes pull data you didn't ask for (item names appended to subitem hours), and the table column on the left can't be widened into the Gantt area, so long subitem names get cut off. Inserting new items into an existing dependency chain is also fiddly enough that we plan around it. Performance is sluggish even on top-of-the-range hardware and fast internet — boards take a few seconds to load every time, simple or complex. Pricing feels like a moving target. I'm on Pro and still get features dangled in front of me that turn out to sit on a higher tier (forms, certain map functions). Functionality I relied on has also been quietly removed — postcode-based email logging used to capture replies back into the item, and now it doesn't, apparently to nudge users toward the separate CRM product. Reduced functionality without reduced price is hard to swallow, especially when support insists nothing has changed. The three-seat minimum almost stopped me signing up when I started my business. Plenty of small businesses would benefit and don't, purely because of that barrier. And there's constant noise — non-native add-ons being pushed, AI features being promoted — when I just want to get on with building boards.

Overall, the experience with monday.com has been positive so far. The platform is already adding value in terms of organization and workflow clarity, and while there is still a learning curve, we are continuing to build comfort and deepen our use of its features over time.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

Finally implementing a centralized project management tool into our workflow has been a major benefit. We’ve especially appreciated monday.com’s flexibility in building custom workflows and automations, which has helped streamline task management, improve visibility across teams, and reduce manual follow-up.

#### Cons

Adopting monday.com while already operating at full capacity made the onboarding process feel daunting. There is a learning curve to fully utilizing the platform—particularly around structuring boards and automations—which can require a meaningful upfront time investment before teams realize the full benefit.

Great experience so far. It’s a powerful platform with a lot of potential once you get the hang of it. There’s definitely a learning curve, but once systems are set up properly, it makes managing tasks, communication, and workflows much more efficient and streamlined across the team.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Very up to date and constantly evolving with new features. It’s a great platform for organising workflows, automating tasks, and keeping everything in one place. The customisation options are strong, allowing you to tailor boards to suit your business needs, and the integrations make it easy to connect with other tools we already use.

#### Cons

The AI features can be a little confusing to navigate at times, especially when you’re first getting started. There are so many options and tools available that it can feel slightly overwhelming, and it takes a bit of time to fully understand how everything works together and how to best implement it.

### Powerful tool, but comes at a price

We have been using monday.com for a while now and overall it does what it promises. It keeps the team aligned and projects on track, which at the end of the day is what matters. We just wish the pricing was a bit more fair for growing teams. If you are a small team or a larger company with budget to spare, it is genuinely worth it. If you are somewhere in the middle, you might find yourself questioning the value every time the renewal comes around.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Honestly, the visual layout is what got us hooked. Being able to see all our projects in one place with color coded statuses, timelines, and dashboards made a huge difference for our team's workflow. The automations are also a game changer once you figure them out. Things like auto assigning tasks or sending reminders used to eat up so much of our time, and now they just happen. Collaboration feels natural too, everything stays in one place instead of getting lost in email threads.

#### Cons

The pricing is where it starts to hurt. As soon as our team grew, the cost jumped significantly, and some features we expected to be basic are locked behind higher tier plans. There is also a learning curve. New team members do not just get it right away, we almost had to dedicate time to onboard each person properly. Sometimes the platform also feels a bit slow when we have a lot of boards loaded up.
