STAY AWAY FROM DOTLOOP!!! TERRIBLE PLATFORM AND EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

My only take away is that Dotloop is a subsidiary of Zillow so it's probably just a scam to steal your data! Please brokers stay away and don't waste your time.

Pros

Nothing that I can think of. I tried for months to get the platform set up. I was unable to do this after numerous videos and no assistance from my "success manager".

Cons

Very complicated system. Customer service is non existent. i was assigned a "success manager" and that was a very ironic title considering I had almost no interaction with them. I used the platform for 4 months and was never able to properly use it. They are a subsidiary of Zillow so it's probably a scam to steal your data!

review of dotloop

Customer service is great but the overall product is a bit challenging to use. It has a lot of potential but there are better products out there.

Pros

I liked the flexibility of being able to communicate with everyone in a real estate transaction and being able to send documents to all appropriate parties.

Cons

I found it difficult to learn and my clients found it challenging as well. It was difficult to explain to them. I have since found easier solutions.

Easy to use

It is easy to use and for limited transactions, it is a great option.

Pros

I like that it is easy to use and clients do not have trouble with it on any device that I have worked with.

Cons

Our board offers a free service that, while not as robust, is still free.

Great E-Signing Software for Bigger Companies

Great software for larger companies but leaves the little guy out of their picture.

Pros

Dotloop makes the e-signing process painless for every side of a deal. I've used DotLoop over 10 times for conducting Real Estate transactions and almost always receive my shared documents back without any questions.

Cons

Sharing a document can become confusing if you're involving multiple users. It can also become difficult it you need to make a change to a document after you've shared, but before anyone has signed. It would be nice to retract shared documents if needed. Lastly, the cost of Dotloop is extremely high for a small brokerage such as ourselves with only 4 agents.

Stay away from dotloop

Very disappointed!!

Pros

It was free. You get what you pay for. No other pros.

Cons

It would link and unlink as it felt to my realtors association, loops would disappear and entire contract packet(signed)would be lost. Not intuitive as other esign options.

My Experience with DotLoop

It has allowed me to expedite my offers very quickly. Unless I have a client who does not use a computer, I have used it for all my paperwork.

Pros

The electronic signature function is great. My clients have found it very easy to use, even the first time. I rarely receive questions about signing, etc. It also electronically keeps all my files in the same place as I often refer back to my previous clients for various reasons.

Cons

It is very confusing when I am working with another agent who has DotLoop. They end up sending me a file and then I am in their Loop. It gets a little cumbersome when we both have Loops and want to keep everything in our own Loop.

Dotloop Doesn't Live Up

Our experience with the software was terrible and the support and management were even worse.

Pros

The fact that it has a mobile app was the only positive.

Cons

The software didn't do what it was supposed to. There's no connectivity to the MLS and the agents all found it difficult to navigate and a time waster when compared with Authentisign and other tools. During our onboarding process, the liason we were assigned was so bad we had to request another one as things would take weeks to complete.

State of the Art Real Estate Transaction Manager

Pros

Dotloop is fairly user friendly and easy to navigate. Since their recent update, it took some relearning where things were on the main menu page, but it provides a nice overview of each sale. Being about to create your own templates and edit already existing templates is a really nice feature. I like that our clients have their own portal on their end and can access shared documents whenever they need to.

Cons

I've been using this program for over four years now and I haven't run into too many things that are worth complaining about. As far as a real estate transaction management program, it has a really nice interface and is easy to use, even for senior realtors who are used to doing things with less technology involved.

Cons

Sometimes you do not get notification or sharing within the team is not easy.

Pricier than BoomTown, but Worth It

Pros

I found it to be more user-friendly than BoomTown, which is what we had been using.

Cons

The cost was higher, but the leads were better.

Dot Loop Review

Bottom Line, its easy and SO organized. Can be as detailed or as vague as you want it to be!

Pros

That it is literately all there. They are able to be titled as I want, they are able to have the folders all with in, and its the EASIEST system. You can't go wrong.

Cons

The only thing I find hard, is with a team some of the messages that are sent out the other team mates can't see and since I created a check list I am the only one who can add it to a loop even if I don't create the loop the other team mates can't add that check list. I have to wait for my invitation in order to go in and add that list when we all use it.

All Day, Every Day

Pros

Dotloop is a piece of software that has been pivotal to the existence of my business for over 4 years now. It is an incredibly easy to use platform with great integrations and flexibility. I have been forced to use other services (like AppFiles) by clients who didn't have Dotloop and the difference is night and day. If you are in need of a document sharing system for Real Estate, hands down the best option available is Dotloop.

Cons

While I love most everything about this platform, I do wish there were most customization options for "white label" styling, allowing the end recipient to have a more clean "in house" feel. If they could include some ability to customize the front end and the notification emails, that would be awesome.

Dotloop Love

It has saved me so much time. Uploading is quick, moving files between folders is quick and efficient, signing process, instantaneous notifications when something has been signed or shared, everything this software does makes my job easier!

Pros

All my files in one place, helps me meet compliance requirements with the state

Cons

At first, hard to tell how it all works. I had a class but really until you start using it, you don't know it. Doesn't take long though to understand how the capability of this software is going to save you tons of time and effort! I would like to be able to share a document from one loop to another without having to download it. If that can be done I haven't figured it out.

Can't Rise When Stooping

I got on board with this product when it first came to my large metro area. I used it substantially for a while, until it was acquired by Zillow, a company that directly competes with agents, takes agent data and then sells it back to agents, and other things I find unsavory. I still interact with it regularly due to other agents who use it, but I strongly dislike it, both for its usability and for moral reasons.

Pros

Dotloop is widely used by real estate agents, so they all are familiar with the same software.

Cons

1. That it's owned by a company that is my competitor, not my ally, and that has access to all my real estate activity when I use it.
2. That it doesn't allow notes or edits to forms on the fly without being a paid member.
3. That it doesn't automatically append .pdf copies of forms when documents are shared.
4. It is tedious and repetitive to create "loops" of data, adding users, and so on. I strongly prefer Backagent for this type of document tracking.
