### Most mentioned pros

- The ability that is built in to sync both with my firm's QuickBooks Online account, as well as my clients makes the onboarding and monthly task work streamlined.
- The ability to create structured workflows and track required documents makes the process much smoother and ensures nothing gets missed.
- Financial Cents appears thoughtfully designed for firms that need better workflow management, clearer task visibility, and more consistency across recurring client work.

### Most mentioned cons

- What I dislike about Financial Cents is that some features, like reporting and customization options, can feel limited compared to larger practice management tools, and occasional syncing delays can slow down workflow updates.
- Lacking in some areas i.e. creating workflows with task dependencies, there are a few major limitations that inhibit our ability to create smooth workflows.
- The main challenge so far is simply that implementation takes time, especially when setting up workflows and training the team.

It's a great product because it offers the best value for what it offers. I am a Tax Dome user. Even though Tax Dome is great, it's too expensive.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Financial Cents has been an excellent tool for managing my accounting and financial projects. It makes it much easier to keep track of where each project stands, what needs to be completed, and what items are still outstanding. One of the features I find particularly helpful is the ability to request and track documents from clients. Instead of having to keep track of outstanding requests through emails or spreadsheets, Financial Cents gives me a centralized place to see what has been requested, what has been received, and what is still outstanding. It has also helped me stay organized across multiple clients and projects, making it easier to manage deadlines and ensure that nothing falls through the cracks. Overall, Financial Cents has significantly improved my workflow and organization, and I would highly recommend it to accounting and finance professionals looking for a better way to manage their projects and client requests.

#### Cons

There's a bit of a learning curve when using the app. There are plenty of tutorial videos to help you get set up.

#### Reasons for switching to Financial Cents

Tax Dome was too expensive even though it is a great product.

Financial Cents has been a strong addition to my workflow as a tax and accounting professional. The platform is clean, intuitive, and designed with real practitioners in mind. I appreciate how streamlined the client portal is — my clients can navigate it easily without feeling overwhelmed, which is a major priority for my firm. The task management features are practical and well thought out, helping me stay organized across multiple engagements. Overall, Financial Cents delivers a solid balance of simplicity and capability, making it a reliable tool for firms that value clarity and efficiency.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

FinancialCents helps me stay organized across multiple software apps by signing in to one hub. I now have a full-time assistant!

#### Cons

Customer support could be better. When I reach out to customer support through AI chat, then to a live agent, it seems to take the agents a while to present a solution. It is almost like they forgot about you and your issue. I wish you could connect with live phone support.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

I actually signed on with Canopy and as soon as I opened the platform, I knew I wasn't going to be able to work in the central hub all day. I contacted Financial Cents and Bryan was so understanding. I am so pleased with the Financial Cents platform. Everyday, I look forward to working in my central hub.

Still very positive, but the inability to open excel and Word documents in the program is problematic.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Intuitive layout, customizing is easy, interaction with and requests for clients very effective-even with the least tech savvy client

#### Cons

When needing to open any other type of document other than a pdf, the document opens as if it were a pdf or not at all. Excel files open as a pdf meaning that I can 't see all of the information in a logical fashion. Word and Excel docs have to be downloaded out of program to be viewed.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

Ease of use and very intuitive for all of the members of my team

### Financial Cents: Powerful, Affordable Practice Management That Streamlines Month-End Close

Overall, I'm highly impressed with everything that I have used Financial Cents for in my bookkeeping firm, and I'm excited to learn about more of its features and how I can use those to efficiently provide my bookkeeping services to my clients both now and as my firm grows.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Financial Cents is by far the best practice management software for small accounting/bookkeeping firms. There are many features that I have come to truly appreciate, with many more that I haven't dug into yet in the short time that I have been using their software. I am appreciating the customizable workflow templates to quickly add the standard bookkeeping workflows to every client but then also add tasks for their one-off situations that don't apply to my other clients; I am absolutely loving the built in invoicing and billing platform to take care of collecting payment from my clients; the Client Portal is extremely easy for my clients to use to securely share documents and to answer questions that I have about transactions. The Month-End Close functionality is huge, it has helped me cut down the time it takes to do month-end tasks drastically. I'm very impressed with the performance that has been built into this software, and as time goes on, I expect this will only increase. The ability that is built in to sync both with my firm's QuickBooks Online account, as well as my clients makes the onboarding and monthly task work streamlined. The AI tools built in to make efficient work more possible has already saved me time each month. Speaking of onboarding, I was really impressed with all of the tips and tricks that were communicated clearly as I began my use of the service, and any time I have had questions, they have been quickly answered either in the built in support library or their very helpful support staff. I also appreciate how affordable of a service it is, my bookkeeping firm is 100% remote and my overhead costs are very minimal. The price point for the Financial Cents subscription is definitely manageable and much less than other options for practice management software. I highly recommend Financial Cents to any accounting or bookkeeping firm, it has already helped me out in my small firm and has the ability to scale as my firm grows both in clients and eventually employees/contractors.

#### Cons

I haven’t been using the software for long, but so far I haven’t found anything I dislike. I also appreciate being part of the Facebook group, where I can learn from other users of the platform and hear about software updates that are being worked on or implemented.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

When I was looking for a Practice Management software, I was initially contacted via Alignable by the ownership/sales team at Basil to give their software a try during a 2-week trial. While I liked what they have built thus far, I was honestly looking for something more established with features already built and ready to implement in my firm rather than creating and doing most of the implementation myself. Financial Cents came highly recommended by mentors and peers, it had all of the features ready to go that I was hoping to see in Basil but weren't available yet. Plus, the price point for the more feature laden Financial Cents was lower than what Basil was asking for.

So far it's been great! I've completed the trainings and added all my clients. I definitely feel that my practice is benefiting from a managerial perspective, and I think our clients are benefiting from the organization that the client portal provides.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I love the project management features, tags, team collaboration, month end close process, and the client portal.

#### Cons

It's a big investment financially. I totally understand why it costs what it does, and it's a heavy lift for a firm of my size. Also, while I find it very easy to use, my team who is less tech savvy is struggling a little bit to implement it.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

I felt like Keeper was more about making sure that the bookkeepers do a good job. I trust my team's work. I just needed to be able to keep up with my side of it, so that I don't become the bottle neck. FC felt more like it had more features to help me as the firm owner.

#### Reasons for switching to Financial Cents

GQueues is straight checklist type task management and we needed a proper practice management system.

I have tried several firm management software platforms and this one so far is the best for our needs.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

As a fully remote accounting firm, it’s been a struggle to keep employees apprised of their work tasks while also having one central place to collect all client data and communications. I think we finally found it!

#### Cons

I think the client-side experience could be a little better. It sometimes assumes clients know more than they actually do. As an accounting professor with 18 years of experience, I’ve found that many clients don’t understand certain parts of the process, but they also don’t want to admit that they don’t understand.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

Ease of use, better integrations and it just makes sense... (or is it cents??) Karbon was too detailed and complicated, Canopy wasn't for our service offerings, and tax dome just didn't make sense.

#### Reasons for switching to Financial Cents

It just didn't do what i needed and didn't integrate with our systems as well as Financial Cents!!

The software is easy to use and gives our team better visibility into what needs to be done. I especially appreciate the ability to manage client requests and keep follow-ups organized. This has helped us reduce missed items and improve accountability across the firm.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Financial Cents has been a very helpful workflow management tool for our accounting firm. It allows us to organize client work, assign tasks, monitor deadlines, and track the status of recurring projects much more efficiently.

#### Cons

If there was one feature I wished FC had, it would be the ability to tie documents directly to our NAS rather than having to integrate Google Drive.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

For our price point, workflow, and security needs, Financial Cents checked all the key boxes.

#### Reasons for switching to Financial Cents

Not easy to use for clients. There was a lot of back-office work we needed to do before we could get things up and running.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Everything is all in one place. Files, client correspondence, deadlines, workflow, timekeeping, billable client minutes/hours. It is really intuitive.

#### Cons

QuickBooks integration seems to double bill. There also is not a place to add a secondary "return" account for when we need to send refunds to clients. This should be easier to navigate

Although the constant changes make it challenging to fully embrace the product, it remains user-friendly and is on the right track to potentially become the most valuable software out there for managing the volume and pressure of tax season.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

It is a fantastic workflow tracking software. It has been a game-changer for us. It is easy to leave notes and to keep an eye on the progress of projects because the whole team can see the status at any time. It has upped our efficiency, keeps us on track, and helps us keep key information (e.g., sending a paper vs digital return, text rather than call preferences, etc.) that is unique to each client visible, so we can best serve our clients.

#### Cons

Support is a challenge. More often than not, the people on the live chat are unsure of the answers and frequently need to escalate issues to the design team and other relevant teams to find solutions. The ever-changing updates make the software feel underdeveloped, and that we are just one giant beta test for a company that does not provide a ready-made product. It was especially disruptive to have updates that disrupted the regular flow in the middle of tax season. It would be beneficial to slow down the constant changes, allowing people to feel they've mastered the program and can use it easily.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

Financial Cents is a more robust program and is more aligned with what we wanted in a software like this.

Overall, Financial Cents has been much better for us than any of the other software programs we have tried for task management and time tracking. We do not currently use the billing side but everything looks pretty easy, and hopefully someday they'll have a real app that works as good as the website.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Financial Cents is very easy to use, everyone in our firm was able to figure out what they need. The reporting contains everything we need and is easy to access. The templates are great, and its also very easy to customize whatever we need. The different pipeline views are helpful as we can each customize it to what works best for us so nothing slips thru the cracks. The time tracking ability to have multiple timers that you can switch between and add notes as you're working is also very helpful. The client task reminders and upload portal are great and intuitive for our clients.

#### Cons

Using Financial Cents on a mobile device is not nearly as nice as using it on a computer. Accessing client uploads is not intuitive on our end, and the client chat does not always notify us or the client, especially if a project is already closed.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

The other options didn't have all of the features at a price point that worked for us, and the sales reps i spoke re: demos weren't nearly as nice

#### Reasons for switching to Financial Cents

none of them had all the things we need in one place or for a price that was valuable.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Financial Cents is super easy to use, there is not a huge learning curve with implementing or creating workflows. I get weekly reports of my progress and this I might need to address. My clients love the client portal, they are able to see all correspondence and billing in one place. The customer support is wonderful the the AI chat support is pretty spot on and helpful as well. Even as a solo user upgrading to the Scale Plan has already paid for itself with the features that help me save time. Great tutorials as well. Oh I love the email integration in scale it allows me to view emails from each client and it's connected to the client file, Very helpful.

#### Cons

I wish it fully integrated with OneDrive, I'm not crazy about Zapier integrations I also wish that I could segment which of my email addresses pulled from Outlook into FC.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

Keeper had a high learning curve and it was $10 per client, as a solopreneur that would have been over $200 a month and would have increased as I grew.

It keeps our team aligned, streamlines our recurring processes, and helps us collaborate more effectively with our clients. The real value is that it allows us to run efficiently behind the scenes so we can show up as a true trusted partner to our clients. Couldn’t imagine managing our workflows without it!

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

What I love about Financial Cents is that it tackles some of the biggest pain points in our industry—missed deadlines, scattered communication, and processes that live in too many places. With everything centralized, our team can manage recurring tasks, stay accountable, and keep client work moving smoothly. The benefit for us is efficiency and consistency; the benefit for our clients is confidence that their books are accurate, deadlines are met, and they always have a partner they can trust.

#### Cons

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

More functionality for a larger team, due to capcity.

Overall, we'd love financial cents and will probably never leave. The system itself is very intuitive and efficient. Even our staff that are not great with technology have found that it's very easy to navigate and use. Our client adoption for it was very well received, and all of the clients love the functionality of the system.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

We absolutely love Financial Cents. Since we switched to this platform, the whole team is aligned on who does what and when. The clients know what they need to do and can communicate with us so efficiently. It is such a time-saver!

#### Cons

It seems that some customization options in the current system are lacking. In our previous system, Asana, we had the flexibility to create columns and fields as needed. It would be helpful to have the ability to create more fields than what is currently available.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

We have previously used Canopy and Keeper, but ultimately moved away from those two systems for functionality. Karbon was our second option, but it was very expensive compared to what made financial cents and wasn't as easy to adopt.

#### Reasons for switching to Financial Cents

Well, Asana is a great tool. It is not accounting-specific, and we are running into a lot of issues where we need accounting-specific technology.

I’ve been really pleased with Financial Cents overall – it’s user-friendly, intuitive, and has helped streamline a lot of my firm’s workflows. The platform makes client management and project tracking much smoother, and it’s been a great fit for our team. That said, I do wish the task management system was a bit more robust. It gets the job done, but some additional flexibility and features would really elevate it. Another area that would add a lot of value is having a dedicated space to store internal firm documents, like SOPs and reference materials, so everything could live in one place rather than across multiple tools. Overall, it’s a solid product that has already made a positive impact on our operations, and with a few enhancements, it could be even more powerful.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

#### Pros

Financial Cents is intuitive, easy to use, and has really streamlined our workflows. Client management and project tracking are much smoother now, and it’s made a noticeable impact on our efficiency.

#### Cons

The task management system works, but it feels like it could be more robust and flexible. I also wish there were a built-in place to store internal firm documents, like SOPs and reference materials, so we wouldn’t need to rely on other tools for that.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

It was more affordable and made more sense for a bookkeeping firm

### An All-in-One Solution for Accounting Workflows

Financial Cents has been a valuable tool for managing our bookkeeping and accounting workflows. It has simplified collaboration, improved task visibility, and helped ensure deadlines are met. While there’s room for growth, the team is highly responsive to feedback, and I’m happy with the direction the product is going. It’s a great solution for accounting firms looking for a balance between usability and powerful workflow management.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

Financial Cents has an intuitive interface that makes it easy to track both projects and tasks in one place. The onboarding process is smooth, and I appreciate that all features are included in one transparent price—no hidden costs or add-ons. The platform is also evolving in the right direction, striking a balance between flexibility for unique workflows and simplicity for team adoption.

#### Cons

As a growing platform, some features are still in development. For example, online billing for Canadian users isn’t available yet, which would make managing payments much more convenient. Additionally, while the system is flexible, there are still areas where customization options could be expanded to better fit different firm structures.

#### Reasons for choosing Financial Cents

Chose Financial Cents over Karbon because Karbon’s workflows feel idiosyncratic and less intuitive for our needs. Financial Cents offers a more straightforward approach to task and project management, making it easier to implement without unnecessary complexity.

#### Reasons for switching to Financial Cents

Switched from Asana to Financial Cents for its accounting-specific features, better workflow tracking, built-in due date automation, and client management—all in one platform. It’s more tailored for bookkeeping needs without unnecessary complexity.

### Financial Cents has a simple, effective interface ideal for small accounting teams, but..

Overall, I am satisfied with Financial Cents, as it effectively streamlines workflow and client communication, though there is still significant room for improvement, particularly in the note-taking section and client tasks feature to make the platform even more efficient and user-friendly.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

What I like most about Financial Cents is its simple and intuitive interface, which is also highly effective for team collaboration and client communication. It’s a perfectly tailored platform for small accounting and bookkeeping businesses that don’t want to deal with overly complex tools just to track upcoming deadlines. I especially appreciate the template section, as accounting and bookkeeping are largely routine tasks. This feature saves time by allowing you to set up projects quickly without adding them manually. Additionally, the note-taking section is extremely useful for me as a bookkeeper, since I rely heavily on my past notes to track numbers, changes in clients’ digital financial files, and updates.

#### Cons

One thing I find less ideal about Financial Cents is that when I add a “Client Task,” the email notifications it sends can’t be personalized much. For example, there’s no option to use “Shift + Enter” to format the email and make it look more professional. I also tried sending a document request email to myself, and it didn’t look very polished—there’s definitely room for improvement in the email presentation. Another issue is that my clients rarely use the “Attach Documents” button; they tend to send documents directly to my email instead. I am not sure why but I think they are not confident to upload their documents directly in the portal? Additionally, the note-taking section could be enhanced. I wish I could add more pages or sections so I can organize notes by financial quarter or year, which would make tracking information much easier.

I love Financial Cents and I use it every day. The features of FC have checked almost all of the boxes that I need to run my business, and with the ability to integrate the platform with Zappier, I think I can check the rest of the boxes!

QBO integration and client tasks reminders are a game changer! I love the dashboard and the email and calendar integration is a huge help. I have Financial Cents as the home page on my Google Workspace account so I know exactly where to start my day.

#### Cons

I wish that Financial Cents had more marketing and client relationship management capabilities. I have come to depend on it so much that I don't want to have to add another platform to my tech stack for CRM.

My overall experience with Financial Cents has been fantastic. As a solo practitioner, I wear every hat in the business, and I used to waste so much time chasing down documents and managing emails. Financial Cents solved that without breaking the bank. The setup was quick, and having the Solo Plan meant I didn't have to pay for seats I didn't need. The client portal is the standout feature for me—it makes me look much more professional to my clients and keeps everything secure. Between the automated reminders and the easy document sharing, it feels like I hired a virtual assistant for a fraction of the cost.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The Solo Plan is an ideal solution for a single-person practice like mine. It fits my budget perfectly without sacrificing functionality. It provides everything I need, including secure document sharing, a dedicated client portal, and helpful automation features.

#### Cons

would have liked e-sginature in the solo plan but this is not a dealbreaker. the price is cheap enough that it is a win/win if i want to have a client portal.

I hesitate to type this review as it is our best kept secret for managing our clients and our internal systems. This program has transcended our business model. I've used two other CRM, Project management tools as my business grew and I am happy to say this is the one that will stay the course and grow with us. The ease of use and community is far above so many others. The templates, employee timesheets, internal reports, and project management are the best I've seen and used. If you are looking for a well rounded CRM and Project management system that is affordable and will grow with you....I highly recommend this program.

#### Ratings breakdown

#### Pros

Document management both internal and externally received. Project management of our clients. Secure interface and sharing capabilities. Ease of use. Customer service and support is amazing. Continual advancement.

#### Cons

While the system will work on your phone, it would be great to have an app that is specific to the program
