UI is pretty simple and good as well. While taking backup is a little bit tough but overall it's a very good product for code management.

Little tough to integrate from command prompt on windows or mac. I can't find any other defects or bugs in this software.

Great UI, easy to use, GitLab helps to manage projects easily, easy to review code, GitLab API is easy to use in your project.

We are very happy and pleased to use the tool. Our ci-cd and approval / reviewer workflows are fully supported; this allows are agile practices taken to reality.

The great community that manages to carry out the effectiveness of a project is so fascinating that it maintains its daily use.

I love the mobile app offered by this product and in addition to this it has a very user friendly UI,it is easy to set up and is free.

From the get go, GitLab has been amazing to work with. It was a breeze to integrate their API, too.

I do have some complaints about it. I hope that newer versions will make my complaints obsolete.

GitHub is a tool that helps you in your day to day and allows you to quickly advance in your work, it is very complete and you can find within it all kinds of things that can help you.

I would say that it is not easy to upgrade or migrate to a new server. If any function fails, the rest usually fail.

It is best secure platform to make my code go there, and it is also best in pushing and pulling my code.

Wonderful community, welcoming atmosphere, pleasant to work with all the employees I've encountered.

The best part of it is that ,it's cost friendly nature which helps not only big but also small organisations.

It's superb we can recommend for anyone. If our commit has some conflict it shows how to resolve that step by step.

Sometimes when I rebase it can create problems in graph.

It is available in both community version and Enterprise version. Version control and code review made easy with gitlab.

Some of the directions from the developers are very vague. They forget that not everyone using the platform isn't a technician genius.

My only and “first” code versioning program ever. I really recommend it over any other solution out there, the features  are top and the repositories and GUI just look so professional and awesome.

Easy to use with a modern interface. Gitlab enterprise is a nice self hosted option with good project control.

There are also a good number of settings that allow you to control options such as how you want to handle merge commits, giving you complete control over your repository.

Good repository policies, paired with good storage capacity, and speed. Great product to manage large repos.

Great for tracking issues. I love how I can keep up with the projects that I am on and to see the progress of others.

Merge conflict solver is very confusing. I think GitLab team should come up with different design to solve the conflicts.

I imported around 30 repositories in a few steps so simple and easy. I really love it, I'd been use Github and Bitbucket in the past, and GitLab is much better.

Gitlab is a great repo manager for teams in need of private repositories, continuous development, and affordable prices.

The best versioning tool for development, I recommend it without hesitation.

They also have very good slack integration in the gitlab itself which will help the devs to communicate on the platform itself.

Good for organizations where you want to keep for repositories private. It has good features in cheap price.

There are some features missing or not implemented properly in Gitlab + the lack of funding makes it ver hard to expand on Gitlab and use it full time.

Don't forget the issue tracking it's really fun to use and support markdown making it much more awesome. The community edition is really amazing with community support is marvelous.

It is easy to use and it has several advance functionality that can help you to control e improve the quality of your work.

The user interface is also very intuitive and easy to use. Redmine is also very well documented, with tutorials, guides, and sample projects available to help users get up and running quickly.

Basically, you can add anything you can think of or simply just build it yourself if there's not a tool out there you like or want to pay for.

The community gathered around Redmine is not so big compared to other existing management solutions. And the last thing and in my opinion the biggest disadvantage of Redmine - the design.

I am using redmine from last 7 months , overall experience is very good and this application make my job easier.

It has a plugin repository where you can find some useful extensions, like a template manager for writing issues based on a specific format.

The organization is very confusing and is hard to navigate. I've learned how to navigate it, but it's still a pain to find anything.

It was easy to use the software; most of it was intuitive and it had an impressive link-back and drill-down system.

Easy to use, FREE, vintage look but customizable with themes. Great for managing projects.

Redmine is clear and simple,  it's similar to JIRA. It works stably without errors.

We manage all our web development projects through Redmine, over 2000 now in total. I've tried several other PM tools but none had as much power or as good of a price as this.

So, it was a strictly OK experience for me with some pain points that were too impactful to ignore, so we had to make a switch to a better, a paid option.

We currently use it for recruiting follow up, PTO follow up, some funcional teams onboarding and others. For those purposes it works fine and you can customize it as your necessities.

This is a perfect project management system. High quality by open source community.

You can customize workflows, ticket types, extra field and there is a great community with a lot of plugins for special needs. I can absolutely recommend this system.

End-user always complain me about the software is hard to use. For me, a tech, I fell it's OK.

User interfaces of this applications is very poor and it's very hard to figure out process and features available within the application. There's no notification system also.

Too simple and plain GUI with limited access from intranet.

But its archaic UI, confusing UX and a headache during deployment and frequent downtimes can seriously impede your project management process.

Sometimes customization is lengthy and complex. Online solutions to problems encountered are not available easily.

It is free, so it was a good start to using a fully fledged project management tool and get used to the process. It had adequate tracking features and after a bit of time, our team got used to it.

A server is available both in cloud and local. It is quite easy to use and have all basic features you need for tracking defects.

Very good discussion groups and good community for issues and new ideas. Pretty cheap developers for development and customizations.

Although we were never able to use the latest version of Redmine, we've updated a couple of times to more recent versions. I saw little to no change in the UI between those.

Don't let Redmine's interface fool you: it is one of the best project management softwares out there.

Our development company was based off shore so we pretty much had to rely on the tool for communications related to issues and this tool fits the bill perfectly.

Redmine is a powerful Bug tracker system with such a flexibility that you can use it as your CMS if you want. There is a ton of plugins to install.

It is very confusing and the presentation is not good. You need reports too, although new ones can be created using the API.

Having very limited features for managing large team and project. App integration are not there need to download limited plugins.

I like the fact that it's straight forward and does what it's meant to do.

Of course, you can extendend to agile if you purchase or install extensions, but it doesn't support it natively.

For starters, the interface is obsolete and the overall experience is a misery.

It is quiet old looking but things getting better in-time. Perfect for lower budget organizations.

If you do the self-hosted option, you have to install and configure this Ruby on Rails application which is a serious pain in the butt.

It acan be integrated against LDAP-based authentication systems. The workflow of the issues can be configured easily in the admin panel.

Some UX elements are very annoying (you click on a link, it opens in the same window ?!, drag and drop in non-existant, etc.).

Good option for keeping teams organized around the work and more budget friendly than JIRA.

It is opensource and has several plugins that offer more features. Its API allows for easy integration with other software.

Uploading pertinent files, assigning/unassigning team members to an issue are all easily taken care off. Overall a great product.

Simplicity is Redmine's strength by far. It's got a no-frills interface and everything is fairly straightforward and easy to navigate.

Redmine is an open-source cloud-based project management solution based on the Ruby on Rails programming framework. It is a cross-platform and cross-database solution and allows users to manage multiple projects within the system. Administrators can allocate each user to have different roles on each project. The issue management system allows users to define the status of each issue and they can set the priority on a need basis.


Users can set workflow transitions for each issue type and role. It has a document management system, which allows users to share files on the system.
