In summary, I compare all Business Support or companies to the standard achieved by Businessmap. Businessmap have been extremely helpful in all areas from product development, training, queries & problem resolution. Their response time is phenomenal and in the large majority of the 100s of tickets raised, will also include a full solution, workarounds or a future plan to adapt to requests.

I'm genuinely yet to find a fault worthy to report about Businessmap.

#### Reasons for choosing Businessmap

Cheaper and better functionality around task management workflows.

#### Reasons for switching to Businessmap

We now use Businessmap since two years. It's useful so far but I'd definetly not choose it again if i'd known about the bummers (see above).

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 2/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

It's very flexible and mighty and has good automatization. Also the pricing is reasonable.

#### Cons

Biggest Bummer: NO MOBILE INTEGRATION and their Product Manager tells that it won't come at all. As a CTO I am constantly considering migrating to something else. Can't just use the tool on the go. Also its user interface has a lot of innecessary whitespace and no intuitive list view. To use lists you need to open modals and filter. A bit strange.

#### Reasons for switching to Businessmap

Our Project Manager and Agile Coach wanted Businessmap so badly.

The Businessmap Kanban tool is the Rolls Ryce of Kanban tools. It fully enables any team or business to improve on flow in every way, thanks to the many features and possibilities available.

#### Cons

If I was forced to find a con then it would be that there is no free version available for individuals for basic use. Personally I would love to use Kanban for daily home life and Businessmap would be nice to use on a basic kanban level.

#### Reasons for switching to Businessmap

Businessmap is more intuitive, better user interface, better reporting tools and has deeper functionality in so many ways than any of the kanban tools I have worked with so far.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 3/5
- Customer support: 4/5

#### Pros

The tool is tailored for teams working with Kanban for Knowledge work methodology, as we are. The tool is simple to start with but containing most of the required features when the team is maturing into Kaban.

#### Cons

The fact that the initiatives and cards are treated differently and not sharing the same features. Is not easy to share a workflow from one board into another, this is only possible with the management workspace. The planning view is not yet usable for us, in our case we would like to plan the different phases (columns) of a project in there, we haven't yet found a way which doesn't include creating separate card for each phase.

#### Reasons for choosing Businessmap

Because tailored for Kanan method. All the other tools gave me the feeling of a lot of marketing with much content when is came to Kanban. Businessmap did present with more content.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

Businessmap is as simple or complex as you want to make it. There is a tonne of functionality that makes the experience of using Businessmap both challenging and enjoyable in equal measures. The Team at Businessmap seem to have thought of everything. Every month they come with new functionality and improvements. Their support Team's response time is faster than any I have experienced with any other company. Nothing is too much trouble and so far, they have provided the solution to my query, right first time 100%. Their knowledge base is always my first port of call before calling the Support Team and I share links with colleagues from the knowledge base because the articles will explain actions better than I ever will.

We are using Kanbanize since 2017 for ourselves as well as all our clients and have time and again seen amazing results of several hundred percent throughput improvements or lead time reductions. But I have to reiterate my warning that the tool is only part of it and that it will need to be professionally implemented to really see these improvements.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Where many workflow and Kanban Tools only take care of very simplistic workflows and any changes need to be made by an administrator, Kanbanize is highly flexible and user friendly and extremely powerful to map and track multi-level workflows and projects.Additional to the features, software support is critical and here the team at Kanbanize excels with a 90%+ resolution rate within the same business day.

#### Cons

Many people do not realise that "a fool with a tool is still just a fool". Kanbanize looks very simple to implement and is very user friendly, but to really reap the benefits of a Digital- or Agile Transformation or any process improvement, it is imperative that one digs a lot deeper into the underlying organisational setup and workings.

#### Reasons for choosing Businessmap

In 2017 we chose Kanbanize as the winner when doing an in-depth comparison (some of the other tools are no longer around). We are regularly doing a review of the market to see what is available and up to now we have not regretted our decision as Kanbanize keeps at the forefront of developments in this space and in the Gartner Magic Quadrant...

### Digitalizing a heijunka panel

We designed an assistant from scratch to fully cover the planning process of a plant for the manufacturing of phytosanitary products; from the acquisition of ERP production data to the information required at the loading port, through the digitization of the Heijunka panel with Kanbanize. We described all produced products with all the tasks needed and we created templates for every one of them. Then, the assistant filled the kanbanize boards to give the workers in the factory the information needed to execute the assigned task, log time, notify when problems, etc. Kanbanize was the management interface for all the developed tasks at the factory, and help giving the management precious information to improve the manufacturing process: production time per product, cicle time, etc.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

I think that the adaptability to create any imaginable workflow that can replicate a production process, with an impressive number of cards (~2000 a day) with all the data you need through the relations between other cards or with custom fields was my first "Uau". Then I had time to discover how can we manage some automation through the Policies, and when we need more, we had a very capable API to fill the gaps.

#### Cons

When we needed new functionality to visualize information, we asked for it, and in time it arrived in the next releases. We had some problems with the API that also were solved in subsequent releases. To say something to help decide others, I must say that the path to solving some situations has been hard, but it's the same when you learn to use a new product. Then, in that case, you have to contact the support team.

Excellent product - very happy with the company. We are glad to use them for the visual management.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

1) Feature development is well thought out. Rather than adding to visual clutter, features are constantly refined to allow simple visual management. This is harder than it sounds and is not often achieved in agile software development. 2) Regular releases. Releases are on time and only 1 month away. 3) Great customer support. Real people answering your questions and looking at possible bugs. Replies are quick and direct. 4) Price is very reasonable.

#### Cons

1) Break in subscription value. They just recently divided their subscribers into two tiers leaving original users that do not upgrade their subscription contract to only original features. This is a bad mistake and breaks the premise of SaaS. If a company needs additional revenue they should be raising the cost of the subscription for all in a seamless manner and not bifrucate their user base. 2) Metrics are well developed but it is not easy to get started. Additional thought needs to be given on how to get metrics in the hands of even basic users.

#### Vendor response

Thank you for the feedback. We are trying to improve the product on a regular basis, so we can meet users expectation and needs. We are glad to hear that your are happy with our support, regular releases and features. Kind regards. Kanbanize team.

I like to describe Kanbanize as the Swiss Army Knife for IT leaders in mid-sized businesses. Since we at Xuviate started talking about it in our IT Leader Masterminds and 1-1 Coaching sessions so many individuals started playing with it and later adopted the software ... to the point where there is currently no other main-stream Kanban software that is regularly used by any of the IT leaders we interact with. This is both testament to the quality of the product as well as the ability of Kanbanize to stay ahead of what users need.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

- The software is extremely flexible and supports almost any use-case - It is super easy for people to get started (even if they have never used Kanban before or are not in IT) - It is not just another Kanban tool and right from the start it is clear how Kanbanize (the company) is trying to change the way we run our businesses (e.g. by supporting and evangelising Portfolio Kanban) - The reporting engine is top-notch and provides both overview and many drill-down opportunities

#### Cons

- Individuals often are role players on multiple boards. Currently there is no easy way to show all tasks assigned to an individual and to properly prioritise daily workload. - No integration with their personal Kanban tool flow-e exists at the moment

As a consultant a major part of my work evolves around process optimization or creating flow. I use Kanbanize to show clients how flow can be created, or how you can work towards an optimised process. Another part of my work is about business strategy consulting. Here Kanbanize is also awesome thanks to the possibility of relating boards and the portfolio lane. Kanbanize is always a great starting point for organisational change because it is accessible.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5

#### Pros

Although feature rich, Kanbanize is easy to start with. Simple templates, explainers and a knowledge base are there to guide you if you need it. I knew Kanban when I started with Kanbanize and it was a great experience to work with a true Kanban tool. It felt very familiar and with a great UI it quickly became my favorite tool.

#### Cons

Kanbanize offers rules for automation. This is really awesome. However, for me there are never enough rules, so I liked the limitation of rules the least.

Implementing big Kanban systems is not easy. Lots of task/cards, teams in different locations, lack of metrics and indicators, etc could make it really challenging. Kanbanize solves all these problems and gives many additional features to improve the efficiency.

We love Kanbanize as a product as well as the support team. We use it to manage our strategic planning and operational processes including resource planning and sales pipeline. With clients we use it in a variety of ways to fit their specific need. The flexibility really helps us to adapt to their current context.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

The flexibility to configure the workspaces, boards, workflows, cards and everything else is brilliant because it allows us to adapt to meet our specific processes and needs. The ability to create relationships between boards and between cards allows visibility and traceability across the organisation.

#### Cons

It's a really minor point but the way the software interacts with large touch screens varies on different web browsers - sometimes it's hard to drag cards or stickers around but it can be overcome easily by using a mouse.

#### Reasons for choosing Businessmap

The ability to connect boards and the power of the business rules and others.

#### Vendor response

Thank you for your review, Keith. We are happy to hear our software has brought visibility and transparency into your organization! Kind regards. Kanbanize team.

### Managing processes with Kanbanize

I work for a consulting company that helps its clients in the optimization of their processes. In particular, I have used Kanbanize inside the Technical Office of some of my clients for the order management process. With Kanbanize we recreated exactly the client's process with all the information we wanted to manage. I would like to recommend Kanbanize if you need to manage a process characterized by different and well-defined steps that involve different users/offices.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

Kanbanize is a very complete and feature-rich tool. It allows you to create your own workflow based on your process and immediately view the state of the art. The Kanbanize card is the most complete card I have seen in the various digital tools. The business rules allow you to insert strategic alerts on the board in order to anticipate problems. The Kanbanize Support is excellent: answers always arrive clear, complete and within a few hours.

#### Cons

Kanbanize is full of features and you need to study it constantly and thoroughly if you want to use it in the best way. In this way it is not so easy to use instantly, but when you learn how to do you forget the difficulties of the first days. The second point I can come up with is that in filters, Analytics and xls export, colours are mentioned with their codes and this is not so user friendly. Finally it is not possible to exclude non-working days from the analytic calculations.
