LiquidPlanner Software

LiquidPlanner is a cloud-based project management platform. This solution includes integrated applications for project portfolio management, document management, project collaboration, resource management, time tracking, budgeting and more.

LiquidPlanner's scheduling engine can generate priority-based schedules, taking into account the priority and estimated time assigned to each task. As users log time or re-estimate their time, LiquidPlanner shows the most up-to-date schedules. Best and worst case estimates give a realistic look at what can be accomplished and when, while comprehensive planning at the team and portfolio-level helps administrators manage resources.

Since this system is cloud-based, users can collaborate and interact with their projects, tasks and teams, from virtually anywhere. Native apps for iOS and Android devices allows users to access many of the features available in the system so they can view projects, assign tasks, update progress, and collaborate with team members anywhere they have Internet access.

LiquidPlanner is a project management app that can help your team be more efficient!

Liquidplanner helps with team management - team members get work done a lot faster, because it's split into smaller workloads. People who are taking a day off can also rest easy knowing they won't be too far behind when they come back!

Pros

LiquidPlanner helps with a lot of things - project management, shift availability, and more. Projects are shifted around based on who can do what, there's a timeline based user interface, so you can see what's done, and what isn't. Work is separated into smaller pieces so finishing things is more manageable.

Cons

The only real issue with liquid planner is the fact that some people may not like it. I've used a lot of project management apps, and this one was by far the one with the most features and functionality. Some people may prefer simpler apps, but as for me, LiquidPlanner is pretty good!

Excellent Project Management Program

There is a lot of keep track of as a project manager, but Liquid Planner helps keep it all neat and organized to prevent losing items through the cracks.

Pros

I love that all my projects can be in one place for me to manage! I can put as many tasks as I need and coordinate with all my team members effectively!

Cons

Liquid Planner can sometimes be a bit glitchy. BUT, their customer support is always quick to check out the problems.

Great Product - Steep Learning Curve

For our project needs the software just had to steep of a learning curve. We needed to get moving fast and we just couldn't do that with this application. Its got tons of power under the hood - but you need to have the knowledge to tap into that.

Pros

This is a very feature-rick application. The software is solid and well-supported. If offers lots of unique features that many project managers will want and defineity need.

Cons

The software is very expensive and has a very steep learning curve. My suggestion is that if you seek to use this application you find someone that has a decent familiarization with its use so that you can get the most of out its vast powerful capabilities.

LiquidPlanner has aging visuals, but fantastic task prioritization features for mid-sized teams.

We moved to LiquidPlanner from Teamwork Projects after a few months of developers being overloaded with work due to lack of visibility for priorities and already assigned work. LiquidPlanner has allowed us to bring in more project managers and have more ongoing projects while keeping visibility of when we can tackle those projects in house or if we should bring in help or change our timelines.

Pros

The resource management options and "smart scheduling" options are great for project managers and developers who need a quick overview of priorities.

Cons

The interface is very dated (don't trust the nifty little animations on their website, this tool looks and feels old). However, it's still very useful.

One of the best softwares my team has implemented recently

Pros

One of the few project management platforms that adjusts automatically in real time which streamlines all of our projects across our team.

Cons

It was a bit of a process to adjust to some of the settings. It's very similar to past products I’ve used in some ways but also very different in certain aspects.

Liquid Planner Reviewed

Pros

This product includes a wide array of project management tools designed especially for small teams. It also has a detailed file/task assortment feature that is not often seen in competing solutions.

Cons

The user interface has a very "old school" feel to it. It does not aesthetically appear and act like a 2019 product.

Comprehensive project management tool for collaborative teams

Liquid Planner provides a broad overview of all your projects and great visibility over employees' work loads. There is definitely a learning curve and adoption takes some time.

Pros

From gantt charts to time estimates, this tool was a lifesaver when we found ourselves falling short on task tracking and project tracking. management.

Estimating tasks with ranges (like 3-6 hours) instead of a single number makes a huge difference and the plethora of organization features make complex projects less tedious to look at.

Tracking employee capacity, schedules, and their deliverables has been particularly helpful, especially when you have multiple projects going on at the same time.

Cons

There is a glaring lack of third-party integrations and the interface can be overwhelming if you're used to simpler tools. Would also be nice to link to specific tasks.

Overall, this is a more technical PM software that basic users who just need a limited view of projects will find reasons not to use it.

Is good for the price

I manage the tome with my work team pretty good with this software.

Pros

Helps a lot to build your plans with your team and management the clients and projects with a very friendly software.

Cons

There are a couple of other software companies that have more options, this is not the best but is not the worst either.

Good PM tool for team environments.

My team moved from using Brightworks in SharePoint and synching to a MS project plan. We have found this to be a significant improvement due to its ease of use, ability to add comments through email, and overall being much more user friendly.

Pros

Liquid Planner is easy to learn and becomes intuitive in a short period of time.
My team runs multiple projects and the tool has helped us to coordinate shared resources effectively. We are also less reliant on email as we now communicate with stakeholders through LP in the comments section.

Cons

Building and editing a schedule in LP is less efficient compared to working in MS Project.
It would be nice to have more drag and drop functionality in the gantt chart and for dependencies to be visually linked.

Great Project Management Tool

Pros

It is a great all-in-one project management tool. You can assign multiple roles to one task and prioritise how needs to complete what. You can checklists on task, to ensure all elements of the task is covered. Its great to see resource allocation. The project status functionality is great, at the click of a button I can see the percentage complete on all my projects. I love the fact that I can forecast accurately spend remaining on the project.

Cons

It would be great to have an overall timeline view of all projects at once.

A Thorough & Customizable Tool for Managing All Projects in Our Organization

One important benefit has been applying consistent project management protocols across different staffpeople, and forcing (or at least inviting) certain staffpeople to think comprehensively about project management rather than just haphazardly doing one task after another. One challenge is that our management team doesn't seem to use it to the degree they expect of staff, and this really disinspires many staffpeople to put in the time needed for the program to work effectively.

Pros

I find the project/task/checklist breakdown, assignable projects & tasks, and estimating & logging time very helpful. I appreciate the custom fields, tags, & in-project messaging w/ email compatibility. The dashboards & reports really help to quickly show the status of our various projects. A brilliant and complex product!

Cons

Unfortunately many of our staff find LiquidPlanner to be too high-maintenance. My organization has been at it for 2 1/2 years and we're still ramping up. I've probably invested a few hundred hours into onboarding and training, and it still takes more time to manage than the time-tracking spreadsheets we formerly used. It is also the case that all ships rise with the tide, so if some staffpeople don't pull their weight then the tool doesn't work as well for others.

Facility Transition

I used Liquid Planner to schedule and move all equipment and process from an old facility to a new facility, this tool made it easy to separate departments and process differences.

Pros

Easy to set up a schedule and know the amount of time and resources needed to complete a job, easy to know if you are meeting your schedule or falling behind. Easy to pull a gant chart to show to customers and show progress to management.

Cons

Logging the hours for each individual wasn't always easy to track.
