Mavenlink is Good for Limited Uses

Ease-of-use

Customer Support

Value for Money

I don't love the team collaboration aspect that has been baked into the platform, and the project accounting portion feels a bit light. Overall, a good option if you need more PM than anything.

Pros

I really like that you can include P&Ls in your project planning, and the planning portion of the platform itself is relatively straightforward and offers all of the required items a PM and team would expect.

Cons

It feels like the platform is simply trying to do "too much", meaning it falls down on a few different fronts. While it could be an exceptional PM software, it also tries to be an accounting and BI platform. This results in nothing being a perfect fit for your needs.

Mavenlink is a solid PM service. The Premier tier of service offers a useful set of features, including reporting tools, financial integrations, and so forth. Still, for small businesses.

Pros

The best way to get project teams off email and into a space where real work can get done more efficiently is to use an online project management

Cons

Expensive monthly cost. They started out good for the price. Now their customer service is subpar, their product needs to be evolved more, and they are charging more.

Value for Money

Pros

Collaboration between your team is the focus for Mavenlink and they have done an extraordinary job at allowing for quick open communication,
The software is great for your PMs to keep track of each project and ensure their team is prepared to ensure customer satisfaction.
This great system has not let us down at all. Hands down, best overall solution we have found.

Cons

What's not to love? It was even easy for our team to pick up on the use from day one.
Potentially it could be adapted for subcontractors to participate in the sales phase, but that is a niche concern for users within construction companies.

Pros

Simple to you use, assigning tasks, creating templates, mobile friendly, integration with google apps.

Cons

There's not much to dislike. I'd like to see a more robust file storage capability so our clients can access documents through a tiered folder structure. I'd like to see the Analytics reports and invoices have the added capability for customization.

Good project management solution, however it is limited in some of its features.

Pros

One of the nice features of Mavenlink is the ability to track time entries from a Chrome browser plugin without needing to go to the full Mavenlink site. The mobile site is fairly intuitive and operates flawlessly.

Cons

Mavenlink is a bit limited in terms of the number of tiered child tasks that can be created. It would be useful if there was a larger hierarchy that could be created, and not limited to 2 tiers.

We were previously an organized mess with creating projects and project milestones in a single platform. The hours and billable time was being logged in a separate platform. With Mavenlink we are able to better track all of these items quickly and reliably.

Pros

The best part of the system to me is the ease of setting up projects and simultaneously logging hours with great ease. The platform allows up easy access to all logged hours as well as categorizing between billable and non-billable time.

Support has been willing to work with us on the needed we require.

Pros

It does a good job with hours tracking. I am able to see how much budget is left on a project. They also made major improvements on the ability to approve hours. Previously it was only approved by project which would be hard if you had multiple projects, but instead you can now approve by person when all their projects report to you.

Cons

It is a little hard to manage timeline with resources, but not because it doesnt offer it, but because projects always change and its hard to find the time to modify the changes needed that constantly happen. We find it easier to just manually adjust as things change.

Overall, extremely effective in keeping our projects moving and keeping team members in the loop - may take a bit to get adjusted to the interface when coming from other PM software but that's expected when switching from any right?

Pros

- This is a great collaborative / project management tool that has kept all members of all teams aligned on project status
- Love the hierarchy system, and the ability to be notified when my task is ready to be handled that is contingent on the completion of a task by another team member

Cons

- Takes a bit of time to get used to the interface, but once you understand the process it becomes extremely efficient
- There are many places to put information, just have to be on the same page with team members where this information will go (description vs. activity)

This is an excellent program for project management, my experience using this was more for reporting bugs found during system testing rather than for managagin a project, but even so it was incredibly easy to adapt it to our need. The flexibility and customerisation of this program really are second to none for such a great low price!

Cons

The only downside I found with this program was how to set it up to meet my business' requirements. Sometimes it was rather complex, however I'm not sure if that was because we used it as a bug tracking platform rather than a project management system.
