### Most mentioned pros

- It's useful for simple planning and delegation of tasks and provides accessibility and visibility across a team - especially if your org is already integrated with the Microsoft ecosystem, and especially where leveraging Microsoft Teams.
- The premium features make it much more useful for real project planning, especially with timelines, Gantt-style views, and dashboards.
- Our entire company is made up of event planners, meeting planners and time management is the most important skill we all need.

### Most mentioned cons

- Overall, my experience is of inconsistency and unreliability with Planner due to the chaotic changes and releases that seem to come every few months.
- My biggest issue with Planner is that it doesn't truly feel stable or truly standalone.
- It becomes a little challenging on this especially if you want to customize certain things for your projects's workflow which you will eventually have to find a way around, but that is my concern.

Our entire company is made up of event planners, meeting planners and time management is the most important skill we all need. We truly live and die by our calendars and task management tools, so Microsoft Planner was a natural choice for us!

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 5/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 5/5
- Functionality: 5/5

#### Pros

As a busy event planner, for me the best features are its ability to provide a snapshot of my daily and weekly tasks! I am constantly working on multiple programs at once, so I live and die by a helpful planner that keeps me on task!

#### Cons

It doesn't have a traditional desktop version so I thought that could be problematic. We installed it as an app and it's working just fine!

### Great integration into O365 family and works well.

Overrall it is a great product to use, could use some gantt chart features for dragging and dropping tasks. Seems they want you to upgrade or pay more for slightly better version. Value isnt there for an upgrade but for a "free" version that is already grouped into your o365 license this does the trick.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 5/5
- Customer support: 1/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

I love that it connects with Microsoft 365 products. We use Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Outlook and sharepoint. It does a good job of offering flexibility to see all your tasks and assign task.

#### Cons

I wish it allowed for EVEN more flexibility. Connectivity to "to do" lists in outlook was more seamless so you didnt feel you needed to exit planner in order to go to your flagged task emails. Also it would be nice if it was built with the realization that you will eventually have thousands of tasks completed and will live in one planner. Doesnt feel like it is set up that way.

### Good app, but it needs to improve

I think its strongest point is the integration within the M365 environment. Probably I'll give it a chance again in the future, to see how Microsoft has improved the application lately, and check if I finally could switch from Trello to Planner.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 4/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 4/5
- Functionality: 3/5

#### Pros

With Microsoft Planner you can have all your tasks organized and tracked properly. It's easy to use, and it's fully integrated with Microsoft Teams and M365 environment.

#### Cons

From my point of view it's a little less complete than its competitors, like Trello. When I tried it, I missed some important features that I use a lot in Trello, although probably they will be added in the future (if they haven't already been added since I finished my tests long time ago).

#### Reasons for switching to Microsoft Planner

I wanted to explore if Planner was a valid alternative to Trello, as it is included in M365 subscription.

I very useful tool for monitoring workflow/requests without being too much of a drain on time for staff using it.

#### Pros

Use Planner to create an effective support ticketing request system for my tech team. Has helped with project progress and being able to analyze work tasks/request for our team.

#### Pros

High organization and structure, being able to assign tasks to the entire team and filter them out based on assignment, date and other filters.

#### Cons

Each task has only 20 subtasks, therefore it would be helpful is that number increased. If tasks grouped themselves automatically based on the deadline, it would be great. We are currently moving them up and down manually.

#### Cons

Generally Microsoft Planner has been great for us but there are some features that could be added for example, it does not have a Gantt chart so some of our team have had to use a third party solution that offers this which breaks the integration slighty so this could be something to be added in future and another is that it would be more challenging to have assigned tasks for persons outside of our organization who does not have an account with our company.

User-friendly interface: The simplicity of the Microsoft Planner user interface is one of the features I like. We can easily create tasks, organise them into lists and assign them to team members.Integration with Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Planner integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Teams, making team collaboration easy. Team members can access tasks and to-do lists directly in Teams, without having to switch between applications.Advanced collaboration features: Microsoft Planner offers many collaboration features that make teamwork easier. For example, team members can add comments on tasks, upload files, and receive real-time notifications for task updates.Project management flexibility: Microsoft Planner offers great flexibility in project management. Users can organise tasks and to-do lists according to their specific needs, and use labels and filters to prioritise tasks.Integration with the rest of the Microsoft ecosystem: Microsoft Planner also integrates with other applications in the Microsoft ecosystem, such as Outlook, SharePoint and OneNote. This allows users to stay productive by using applications they already know.Ultimately, Microsoft Planner is a powerful and flexible tool that offers a wide range of project management and collaboration capabilities for teams of all sizes.

#### Cons

Customisation limitations: I found Microsoft Planner to be quite limited in terms of customisation. For example, it is not possible to customise list or table views, or to create custom templates for tasks.Limitations in reporting features: Some users reported that the reporting features of Microsoft Planner are quite limited. It is not possible to generate custom reports or export data for further analysis.Difficulties in managing complex projects: Microsoft Planner is a fairly simple project management tool, which can make managing complex projects quite difficult. We find it difficult to keep track of tasks in complex projects involving many team members and many steps.Limitations in managing dependencies: Microsoft Planner does not support the management of dependencies between tasks, so we have to find ways to manage dependencies manually.

Overall, as a student, my experience with Microsoft Planner was very positive. The platform provided me with a simple and effective way to manage my tasks and collaborate with my team, which helped me stay organized and on top of my work. Despite a few limitations, I found Microsoft Planner to be a valuable tool that made it easier for me to succeed in my studies.

#### Ratings breakdown

- Ease of use: 3/5
- Value for money: 4/5
- Customer support: 3/5
- Functionality: 4/5

#### Pros

I liked how Microsoft Planner made it easy for me to stay organized and on top of my tasks. The platform's user-friendly interface and intuitive design made it simple for me to create and manage tasks, set deadlines, and track progress. I also appreciated the ability to collaborate with my team on tasks and projects, which made it easy for us to stay on the same page and ensure that nothing fell through the cracks.

#### Cons

The only thing I didn't like about Microsoft Planner was that some of its features and capabilities could be a bit limited. For example, I would have liked to be able to include more detailed information about each task, such as subtasks and notes. Additionally, I found that some of the mobile app's features were not as robust as the desktop version, which made it a bit harder to manage tasks on-the-go.
