But where it really starts to shine is with the ability to automate tasks - in conjunction with Microsoft Forms and Power Automate, you can have different teams or customers fill in a form, which then populates Planner with tasks. ### Most mentioned cons - Overall, my experience is of inconsistency and unreliability with Planner due to the chaotic changes and releases that seem to come every few months. - It becomes a little challenging on this especially if you want to customize certain things for your projects's workflow which you will eventually have to find a way around, but that is my concern. - From my point of view it's a little less complete than its competitors, like Trello. My overall experience with Planner has been exceptional so far. We all love the visual aspect of the data, ongoing projects, reporting, task management and the list goes on and on. Life is a lot more easier to manage and work with a team, especially when you're all doing it remotely, this came as a tool that make it easy to manager remote teams and effectively collaborate with remote teams in real time. It is easier to assign and manage tasks within the team and its easier to track those tasks as well, especially in my department. It makes it easier to stay within the same family of tech stack, that way you don't have to worry about a lot of integration since you're already or might be already using Microsoft. You can easily customize the buckets for your planner and track your tasks the way you want them and the same applies for projects. #### Cons My main concern with Planner and what I like the least if the limitations on Workflow customization. Connectivity to "to do" lists in outlook was more seamless so you didnt feel you needed to exit planner in order to go to your flagged task emails. For statuses, they're not customizable and the pre-established statuses are too limited. For notifications, they are half of the time very slow to be received in mailbox, up to 30 minutes delay. For scheduling, you can only set a end date, but it is not possible to set multiple follow up dates and it is also impossible to set dates on subtasks. #### Reasons for choosing Microsoft Planner The Zoho Sprints tool was very complicated to configure and not very fluid in its use. Jira was my #1 choice, but the price of it was too high.
