    Outstanding Project Management Software

    Value for Money

In testing out various project management software's, PPM stood out for it ease of reporting. Concise information was always available for any sort of meeting on a projects progress. All parties involved has ease of access to this information and kept everyone on the same page.

    Pros

I enjoy Microsoft's approach to tracking project information and trends. With 3 levels of software licensing available, there's a package available for small to large companies. We have so many people involved on projects from the dev team, managers, testers and investors that having a central hub for all the information is great and PPM does just this with an easy to use interface.

    Cons

PPM does well in tracking large scale projects but with so many features, it would be nice to see a streamline version when deciding to track smaller projects, one that doesn't need all the extras, but still need tracking.

    Pros

Very inexpensive for 501(c)1 non-profits. Very robust project management toolset. It is my go to tool for complex project management.

    Cons

Price is an issue if you don't have some kind of real discount, For non-Project Mangers it can be over kill or a little over whelming.

While PPM has powerful features, the learning curve is very steep and requires a lot of training to fully utilize it.

advantages and disadvantages of the Microsoft Power Point application

    Ease-of-use
    Functionality
    Quality

    Value for Money
    Pros

I like this application the ease and use to make presentations dynamic and effective. The variety of options and tools that simplify the day to day.

    Cons

The templates by default are not so original for the current times.
By default it is recorded in format (.pptx), with which it is necessary to make sure to record the files in format (.ppt), with compatibility for several previous versions, this is very important if a recipient to whom you have to send said document may not have the updated version.

I love that it is really complete to manage the full portfolio of projects in a big organization, you could use additional tools to help but they're not necessary

    Cons

For me is that you actually need to know about project management to use it, it doesn't have enough help for begginer users.

PPM is a powerful tool for program management

    Ease-of-use
    Functionality
    Quality
    Support
    Value for Money
    Pros

As a Program Manager I used MS Project and Portfolio Management full suite of product quite extensively. I managed multiple projects ranging from small to large projects. Our network spanned across multiple groups domestic and global. Our initial project only used MS Project in the early stages until the full suite of PPM was available. Projects were easier manage and it helped us stayed within budget. The tools were not as easy as I anticipated to integrate, however with the right planning I’m sure it can be integrated fine. It’s important that the program team is knowledgeable about all the capabilities so it can be used in their projects. We used the entire portfolio in all our programs.

    Cons

Setting up the entire system is not as easy as I had hoped. It took several iterations in order to get the right process in place and to make sure the program team are properly trained to utilize all the features that are available with all the tools. All tools must be integrated correctly. It’s best to plan and take your time setting it up right.

    Value for Money
    Pros

It's the most robust offering the in space with Microsoft's signature design elements and functionality. If you are integrated (Which I am) with the other Microsoft product suite this tool will fit in nicely.

    Cons

If you venture out of the Microsoft ecosystem this tool is a bit expensive, bulky, and clumsy. It requires a full conversion to really get the most out of this product from a function and price standpoint!
