Simply the best time-tracker

I was previously using TimeDoctor, and had some issues with them. When I found out the Hubstaff, it was the next level thing: everything in small detail was done much better. Hubstaff rocks!

Pros

Everything is well-thought and extremely convenient. Works with GitHub tasks. Synchronizes quickly and seamlessly. Supports multiple organizations within the same account. Allows auto-payments.

Cons

Doesn't offer per-seat plans: thought I have 6 team members, I have to pay for 10 seats.

Easy to control your team and yourself

I used time tracking software for long time ago, but it was just a tracker to start/stop time spent on task. No screenshots, no activity monitoring. I really thought that it's user privacy and can affect badly on productivity. Cut the story short - I was wrong: after started using hubstaff, I had to fire one absolutely unproductive man, but others were great, I understood why some of my guys really deserve for salary bonuses, and some of them - realized (mostly by themselves) that social network affects badly on their possibility to solve working tasks, and that fixed that . Really, really glad that we use it.

Pros

It really helps to discipline and get most of the time spent on work.

Cons

A little bit outdated desktop interface. Metro style or flat will work better))

Makes remote teams worm

Using a virtual assistant outside of a typical freelancer site.

Pros

Easy to use, simple to track, and nice chrome
and Asana integration.

Cons

Paying thru the system should be free for basic users. It would make life easier and allow us to better invest in the tool.

Help to organize remote team

I used it to manage a remote theme working on startup.

Pros

Review team member's work process. It helps easily review work in Screenshot activity page. Also I like integrations with Asana so I can still manage projects in Asana.

Cons

I would like to have more integrations with various payment systems.

Make remote work possible with Hubstaff

My organization is trying to reduce cost by letting employees work remotely. This is also to allow us to hire talent not just from our country but to all parts of the world as well. Through Hubstaff, it makes managing people easier because there is transparency. Hubstaff's ability to track time, measure activity level and take screenshots of what the workers are actually doing have helped us achieve our business goals.

Pros

At first I thought it would be impossible to work with a group of people living from different parts of the country. But through Hubstaff, it allowed me to manage these people with the Task Management tool, easily and accurately measure their productivity level, and at the same time, see what they have been working on with the Screen Capture feature.

Cons

My only concern with Hubstaff, or any product for that matter, is the cost. Everything that offers good quality service really comes at a price, and I think Hubstaff has given me that. My organization has been using Hubstaff for over 3 years now and we are still and will continue to use it for years to come.

Excellent way to track employee productivity and ensure they're working

I really like hubstaff and have signed up for another company I own and have recommended it to several others as well.

Pros

I am able to see what my employees are doing all the time. Before using hubstaff, I didn't know when they were messing around and when they were actually getting work done, but it seemed like there was an awful lot of messing around. Now they don't mess around because they know there is a screenshot taken every 10 minutes.

Cons

I have had some issues with employees having trouble with the software in regards to tracking their time or other technical problems, but nothing major.

Can't Run a Business Without This

We have a team of contractors working on various projects connected to different Trello boards. I love how it easily connects my Trello boards and allows me to track time for each contractor against a specific Trello card.

Pros

Excellent Reporting
Easy to use
Easy for team to use
Integration with Trello
Screenshot feature is a plus

Cons

Nothing honestly. Everything is automated for me. I log in and check the reporting once a month to pay the contractors.

Good value for small teams

Pros

Good value for the money. Relatively easy to setup and connect with JIRA.

Cons

The desktop app and the mobile app do not communicate with each other. If I leave my desk and forget to start/switch tasks, doing so on the mobile app has no effect and actually ends up duplicating times. This *is* noted in the documentation, but is a major failing in such a mobile world.

A great alternative for time tracking when working with remote team members

Overall, Hubstaff has been a solid product, with great customer service and it has filled a gap after I moved away from hiring with Upwork

Pros

I like that it captures screenshots and keeps my team accountable for their time. I found that once I stopped using Upwork for hiring and time tracking I needed another option for a few of my workers.

Cons

My only con about this software is that the base package is from 1 - 3 employees instead of offering a single employee option. I only have one team member that I feel needs this added accountability so would love a reduced rate for just using the one seat.

Simple time tracking tool of the team

Good tool to track the remote employees and measure the productivity. You get the screenshots to see exactly what they are working on during the work hours. Perfect to have complete control on the remote workers time which is billed to you.

Pros

Screenshots of the activity.
Reporting of the users.
Timesheets and productivity benchmarks.
Compatible with Mac OS, Windows and also Ubantu.
Good for hiring remote resources.
Integrations to other project management tools like basecamp.

Cons

The tool does not record after being idle, unless you assign the idle time or ignore it.
The tool also does not give notification of the activities which are listed in the basecamp when the due date is reached. It listes them in red, but no push notification or such.

Basic level version

This program does everything I need for simple time tracking against projects. There are heaps of features that the program offers that I don't require and am not likely to require in the future so it is great that their pricing scale reflects this!

Pros

Great program for just keeping track of time spent on fee for service projects
Easy to use
Integrates with Asana

Cons

Few issues with dropping the integration link to Asana, but resolved quickly

Great tool for employee management and productivity

Reports, timesheets, and tasks have greatly helped us oversee projects - internal and external. With a good number of developers we like working oversees, we are able to keep a close eye on the progress being made on each project without having to nag them with emails and calls from the other side of the world.

Pros

The ability to create and assign multiple projects and track/manage/oversee them without having to nag and micromanage employees. The integration options and having the Hubstaff support chat always available is a good nice benefit.

Cons

Interface could use some improvements - could be easier to navigate

Easy to use and allow me to have remote resources

Very good experience and very easy to use. I can supervise all my employees and give transparency to my customers.

Pros

The integration part with third party is very important since allow me to connect daily task with visible supervision and confirm the employees are using their time correctly.

Cons

The registration process when I invite a new employee is a problem. The employee always get confuse in which company they are when are doing the enrollment.

Great freelancer tracking solution

Pros

Easy to set people up. Screenshots help see progress on work!

Cons

Some of the UX is confusing. Need to simplify the experience around seeing work summaries. I also want to be able to start the week on Sunday.
