Project Time Tracking

The use of Senomix helps us to apply for SR&ED tax credits for the purpose of using exact time for research and development tasks.

PROS

Easy to use - fill in data pertinent to project tasks. Very easy to set up. My team has no trouble filling out task hours. ability to assign comments to work helps focus on every important task.

CONS

Switching between general tasks and administration is cumbersome.

Senomix Review

In general Senomix does a good job of tracking time and if that is what you are looking for than this is a good option. I would recommend this to companies that have simple billing procedures or non complex reporting needs. Other programs that I have used had much more functionality, but that functionality came with a much larger price tag and a much steeper learning curve. If you don't see your company really digging into analytics for the evaluation of your current operations, then Senomix will work well and will be user friendly for your staff.

PROS

This software is very easy to use and can be picked up quite quickly. Additionally the program does a good job of allowing people to enter time online and tracking time for billing purposes.

CONS

My largest complaint is that there are some missing functionalities that I was used to from software that I had used at previous employments. Not being able to setup individual rates for each project at the project setup limits the functionality of reporting financials. So when we are looking at financial tracking for each project we use the program to get the time and then calculate the actual financials for the project separately. Additionally project categorization would be helpful for tracking purposes.

Project billing rates can be set through your Project admin screen, and additional rates can be set in your system's Billing Rates screen. If you would like to read up more on those options, just click the Help button near your Senomix upper-right corner. For your wish-list item of project categorization: have you tried creating project groups? You can create as many project groups as you would like, then generate reports with those groups used as a filter for output. For example, you could create groups for each individual client or work type, then select the project group of interest for your reports to see your numbers filtered on that categorization. Could be better

I wish I had the ability as a user to see how much time I have spent on each project number by task

PROS

The default feature of the timecards is nice when I don't have to add all of my projects in during the beginning of the week.

CONS

It constantly is not saving work and struggles when you have two computers attempting to access senomix.

Ouch! It sounds like your office has an older, self-installed version of Senomix Timesheets. Self-installed Senomix servers are installed on your own office network. That puts your system out of our reach for assistance unless your IT person contacts us. The issues you're describing would happen with an incorrectly configured server computer. We could work with your IT group to fix that for you today, or we could move your office to a hosted Senomix plan and handle all server management for you. Easy tracking

PROS

It is pretty easy to enter the time tracking and it is very helpful for my manager to track daily expenses.

CONS

The lines could be a little easier to read if they were color coded. Sometimes hard to trace across the page to make sure you are entering the hours in the correct category. It is sometimes hard to search to find a project. The naming convention could be simplified to make searching specific projects easier.

Search feature is hard to use

Entering time would be a lot easier if the search feature was improved.

PROS

Senomix uses the standard format for time entry.

CONS

The search feature is hard to use. It does not allow more than one item to be searched. For instance, if you search on a project name, it only goes to the first instance of the project name. Also, projects should be listed with the newest on top. This would make it easier to find the projects in a long list.

Senomix is great!

Overall, I have had a pleasant experience with Senomix Timesheets. I highly recommend it!

PROS

I work across multiple research studies, so it can be hard to remember and track how many hours I dedicate in a week to each project. Senomix makes it is easy for me to adjust my hours accordingly. It is very user friendly!

CONS

I really like that I can create a template of the different projects I work on and have it set to my default. That way, each week I don't have to re-type in all of the project codes.

Useful for recording work which you did outside contracted hours

have been using it for a while now and it is second nature now.

PROS

i think that it is reasonably easy to use.

CONS

I would prefer the time to be calculated in minutes ie 1.45 instead of having to work it out as a percentage of 10

Works great with many report functions

PROS

I like the range of functionality in the types of reports I can run. I can look deeply into a specific employees time, a project, or even a project task.

CONS

I'd like to be able to clear out or file separately old projects that have been inactive for longer than a year.

Easy to keep track of my office time. I am able to log per job and per task.

CONS

When saving I often get the spinning wheel and it takes a while to register. Then I need to reload the page and log in again.

That would typically happen when an older self-installed system (where the system server is installed on your own network) has not been properly configured. Each Senomix user can create reports from their own recorded time by signing in to "Manager and Personal Reports". From there, you could summarize your monthly data. Poor Functionality

It is okay. I wouldnt recommend to anyone that doesn't already use it, but since I already use it I don't mind it

PROS

I think the manager timesheet training is easy and make it easy to track hours across a project

CONS

It just isnt that easy to use. It isn't easy to add projects, having to save hours to have them put in etc.

Good time tracking software

PROS

Pretty easy interface to use when compared to other similar time tracking software. Availability to add comments to tasks makes it easier to track what has been done, and when.

CONS

The overall GUI for this interface seems to be a bit outdated, but this really would be my only comment coming from the user end of Senomix.
