Time Doctor is a cloud-based time tracking and management solution used by businesses for monitoring workforce productivity. It offers tools for time tracking, web activity monitoring, payroll management and reporting.

Time Doctor lets users enter time spent on each project and calculate their billable and nonbillable working hours. The screen monitoring feature reports on employee activity via screenshot captures. The solution can also help users to keep track of the time spent on chats, meetings, calls, internet usage and other activities. The payroll functionality allows businesses to record employee working hours and generate weekly and monthly payslips.

A mobile app is available Android and iOS devices and the platform also integrates with various project management and accounting software including JIRA, Salesforce, Basecamp and Slack.

The solution is available on a per user per month subscription basis and offers multilingual customer support via email, phone, live chat and online help desk.

Time Doctor is in for easy time tracking

It's a hassle-free and very accessible time-tracking app that is easy to use and has straightforward UI.

Pros

I like the web app version of Time Doctor since I can access it from any computer when I have to work on urgent tasks when I'm away.

Cons

I think that activity monitoring is a bit too much. I sometimes use my personal computer for work and I don't feel so secure anymore even when this function is turned off.

It is great, I use it every day and always help me organize and be more proactive.

Pros

This is the better app for time tracking, it does give you the ability to know how many hours you spent in each task.

Cons

It takes some time to open, you need to enable tracker status bar manually.

Not the same 'project' like system as in Hubstaff, but still good

Pros

- available on PC and Android (at least that's where I used it)
- helps me track how much time i spent on certain tasks (I know most use it to track others, but i used it as a time management tool).

Cons

The individual version should be free and a little bit richer in features. Start charing once more people are tracked.

Reliable Real Time Monitoring and Time Tracker!

Pros

In my previous company, we used Time Doctor for real time monitoring. While most of my co-employees hated being monitored, I loved it! Serving 3 clients in a day, Time Doctor helped me easily categorize each time spent for a specific client. I never had to manually log my hours used for a specific task for a client, Time Doctor does it for me. Although camera shy, I liked the random camera shots and screenshots. My clients and the company can see if I'm really working during my shift. It is especially important that I gained much of my clients' trust because they can see that I've been working hard for them.

Cons

There are times when the stolen camera shots were just embarrasing. If I can only always smile while working, my clients wouldn't have to tease me with my big forehead. Haha! But nevertheless, Time Doctor had been very helpful.

Very great tool for monitoring remote employees

Time Doctor has saved us tons of time and money as we are sure that workers are doing what they should be doing during hours logged in.

Pros

The best part of Time Doctor that differentiates it from the rest of similar apps is that it takes random screenshots throughout the duration of a user that is logged in. This allows us to view their activities and making sure that our workers are productive and time billed is spent wisely and efficiently.

Cons

The cost would be a factor, but they do have volume discounts so that's not really a deal breaker for us.

A great way to assess productivity and to track work-time

Pros

With Time Doctor, I can assess our employees’ working hours and desktop activities. It allows time tracking, browsing history monitoring, productivity analysis and attendance monitoring. The product is intuitive and very easy to set up as well. The product is affordable as well, compared to other time tracking software.

Cons

The mobile version is not amazing at all. It needs huge improvement and lots of polishing.

Pros

I like how easy it is to start tracking time with the single click of a button, it became a habit to do so much faster than I thought it would

Cons

Sometimes the software will interrupt me to ask if I'm still working in the middle of my work if it thinks I'm using a product that isn't work related, even when it is work related or I switch into Spotify for 2 seconds.

REAL-TIME EMPLOYEE MONITORING; AMAZING EMPLOYEE TASK ASSIGNMENT AND MANAGEMENT FEATURE

Pros

Time Doctor has taken a few tasks off my hands and has allowed real-time employee management and task assignment. Employee monitoring is also possible and with task achievement monitoring through the time tracking feature is amazing.

Cons

Integration with other software is difficult and limited. I am hoping that future updates can somehow provide a solution to this problem, either by allowing different integrations with different software or adding more features in Time Doctor.

Great way to hold team members accountable for their time

Pros

I love this for keeping track of what my team is working on. I am not aggressive about their efficiency, but when deadlines are not met I can see where misused time was spent.

Cons

Setting up the actual tasks and groups of tasks was trickier than I expected. I'm still not sure I'm doing that part right.

Unmitigated Disaster

We are in software development ourselves and this whole platform reeks of something that was built by cheap, overseas, outsourced development teams, OR it was something that has been rushed to market. You need to avoid Time Doctor and Staff.com like the plague. The two companies are linked and perhaps merging because recently Staff.com had a message on their website that said something to the effect of "A TimeDoctor Company." They also have identical logos. Final thoughts: if you use Time Doctor to track work for your clients you are going to be in a world of hurt. You will overcharge and undercharge clients and when they figure it out (like ours did) they will be furious. A quick update: I notified Time Doctor over a week ago to close our account and to the surprise of absolutely no one, they haven't honored the request. Just terrible.

Pros

Having to email their support to cancel my account...I'm joking that was just the last annoying thing I was forced to do with this company. Nothing...I like absolutely nothing about it.

Cons

Absolutely terrible piece of software. I cannot for the life of me understand why this software has such high ratings. We used it for about six months and had nothing but problems with it. Some of the issues were:

1. Time not syncing between mobile, desktop, and web clients.

2. Time not accurately being tracked.

3. Unable to archive old project-tasks or projects.

4. Tasks and projects not syncing between mobile, desktop, and web clients.

5. Time is missing. In other words, time would be tracked and then disappear.

6. Employees who worked on sensitive areas like finance had their accounts set to blur screenshots. This never worked. They were completely in the clear which could have been a huge problem.

This has been a disaster from start to finish. We've had to manually fix tracked-time, re-bill customers, refund customers, and start all over again with an much better alternative called HubStaff--whom I highly recommend.

The biggest problem with Time Doctor is that we were working with their "support team" for over a month and supposedly they were working on fixing our problems...This turned out to be a lie. Nothing ever got fixed. The support team would never proactively give us any information regarding what they were working on and we always had to reach out to them for an update; the updates contained no actual progress information of any kind...So in other words: we were being blown off.

The customer has some genuine problems. We put the full attention of our team on these problems and they are all now solved. However they are very unhappy and have been posting the same negative review on multiple review sites. I think the review is unfair given that 99%+ of our customers are very happy and give us great reviews, and very few people had the problems that this customer had with the app. Our support was very attentive to them and the customer did not respond to all of our emails and requests. They are also promoting a competitor in the review, but that¿s fine we encourage you to try all competitors and see which app you like the best. So we¿re really sorry but can say for sure that other customer will not experience the same problems as most of them were unique to that customer and are also now all solved.

No Updates and a Lot of Bugs

We have been working with TimeDoctor for 3 years, 40 employees use it. A large number of bugs that do not fix for years. The application is buggy - for the last year there have never been any updates. The site's admin area leaves much to be desired - a bunch of reports, but you can not use them. At us almost 600 projects - selectors on a site simply do not open. The API is very complex with a bunch of pitfalls. The new version of the application has not been updated for a year and a half and to the old version it is still far from functional. With pleasure would have switched to another service, but unfortunately for the functionality TimeDoctor suits, but for bugs and support - leaves much to be desired.

Pros

Good Service, but owners earn money and forget about there users....

Cons

A lot of bugs that lasts for years... No Updates for the Desktop App, and iOS also. No new features for a long time...

Must-have for managing remote developers and freelancers

I'm using TimeDoctor for about 6 years across 3 different companies/teams, to manage remote workers. It helps me to track productivity, better estimate certain tasks in the future, and to quickly see when a person is not well-motivated.

Pros

1. It provides the abilities to track time in a really simple way.
2. It provides native applications for all major desktop OS (MacOS, Windows and Linux).
3. It provides the screenshots feature sometimes can really help to understand what's going on.
4. There's a really helpful team behind the product.

Cons

1. They removed GitHub integration.
2. Long and not-seamless sync of tasks with a remote system (I expect such things to work much faster and in background mode)
3. Our Linux developers sometimes experience issues with the app.

Excellent Time Tracking Software

If you need a way to track projects, workloads, and efficiency, Time Doctor is for you.

Pros

We have a small marketing department that manages an incredibly large workload. The 4 of us cover writing, video, product labels, website, photography and more. Time Doctor is an incredible asset and allows us to accurately track where projects are, how long they're taking, and where the hold ups are. This is essential for us as we often have multiple projects running simultaneously. One standout feature for me is the client view. We love being able to show our works-in-progress without having to finish, or send off incomplete items. People can simply join our work session and give us on the spot thoughts and advice.

Cons

The price can scare off smaller businesses/single-person businesses (but it's totally worth it), and the occasional bug can present an issue every now and then, but nothing horrible.

With the latest technology, more effective collaborative tools have been developed to address the difficulties and disadvantages of hiring remote workers. Virtual Assistants are in demand helping companies Worldwide produce more and better results for a low cost. Most remote workers and Virtual Assistants are paid by the hour and with Time Doctor, the management can track their employees real work status and productivity time. The features are designed to monitor the agent's screens and open tabs to ensure that the workers are doing work related tasks and opening company approved sites. Dashboard shows agent status where a Green circle beside the users name- means the person is working, if red, means the person is not working or on break At the end of the day, a report on accurate time usage can be viewed. Data gives the total of hours worked. It also shows the different tasks and how much time spent per task. You can select total hours worked per day, week, or per month.
What I like about Time Doctor is that it provides agent screenshots every 9 minutes. It also shows if there is a low activity period.




Cons

Most benefits and advantages are for employers and management with the reports and actual agent status and work hours. However, the agent's Time Doctor Application / Dashboard is not easy to manage and use. Integration to company's accounting and company provided software can be complicated. For every task accomplished it should also be made available in their time doctor application. Agent should identify which task he/she is currently working on that particular hour by providing notes per hour after selecting which task category it belongs. Agents however can save permanent tasks instead of typing them saving them more time by just clicking on the saved task before he or she starts working.
