Good idea, though not very useful

Pros

I like the overall features and functionality, though I can use other apps to complete these tasks.

Cons

I don't have much use for it. I already have plenty of apps installed to collaborate with my team.

It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's nice!

Pros

I'm so used to the constant blaring of regular Facebook that a quiet, professional Facebook is very odd. My publishing house set up a Workplace for us to have a private area to post our beta reading items, discuss upcoming anthologies, and things of that nature. It's easy to use because it is basically a private Facebook, but there are still some features missing- which is honestly a good thing. It's built for business networks and geared towards work collaborations, and you can tell when you log on and see the pared down system. It cuts the chatter, ads, distractions, and frankly... messiness down to zilch. It's definitely growing on me.

Cons

So far I haven't really found any, as I haven't used it enough yet. However, our publisher says that the free version is pretty limited admin-wise, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Why would a business have a network that they couldn't admin, especially with other networks out there that enable private business networks in the same vein that allow adminning your own team? Just seems a bit odd, is all. From a user standpoint, it looks great and smooth. From the admin standpoint, it seems there's a bit to be desired still.

It Tries

Pros

Everybody uses Facebook nowadays and everyone on our team has an account with Facebook. It made it easy for us to test out Facebook Workplace when it was offered to us via an email campaign.

Cons

It doesn't add too much more beyond a basic Facebook group, or at least at the time it didn't. We weren't very happy with it

Don't see the value in paying for it

It's great because we all know facebook and I would have liked to stay on but I didn't think it was worth a budget line

Pros

I like that teams can communicate and it is easy to use since we all know the platform

Cons

The cost per user for a large org makes it not worth it, there are too many free communication platforms that are just as good

Seems like the software to involve the right team players

Pros

As a growing church, we always look for ways to align team efforts on multiple levels. Facebook Workplace seems to be the tool to get these players together (more than just the regular FB app).

Cons

Nothing much. If you are familiar with Facebook already, Workplace is not difficult to figure out. I am just starting to use it, so I need to see if this will work on the long haul.

Pros

It is very easy to use to look for jobs and easy to apply.

Cons

I wish it was more popular, there are not many postings for positions in my area at this time.

Paid Facebook groups

Pros

What makes Workplace so easy to work with is that it really operates just like a Facebook group, and makes working on there more of a social engagement than a work one.

Cons

Because Workplace operates and feels just like Facebook, you are kind of left with the feeling that "why isn't there a free version of this"... considering Facebook's size and free competitors, I really didn't like that you weren't able to get Workplace for free for small teams.

I'm still curious about it but I like it

Pros

Because it's Facebook, it's very easy to use and it has almost all the features and more specifics to work. Great tool.

Cons

A bit early to know where this is heading but a couple of new updates would be good... Wait and see !

facebook Workplace is cheaper option for office communications

Overall cheaper option with some compromises

Pros

It has a very easy way to communicate across all team members.
It can be used with Facebook App , So most of the mobile it has inbuilt app.
Overall it has messaging and calling and video conferencing facility, cheaper option than other available solutions.

Cons

Data security, as FB is advertisement based company they should protect valuable information, recently FB got some allegations.
Sometimes I get confused with my personal and professional account

Keep it private, but keep being social.

Pros

I love the idea of workplace, it’s a fantastic way to communicate and socialize with your coworkers, it allows you to share and have fun without compromising you privacy, you don’t have to share your personal Facebook profile with the whole office and yet can still enjoy the benefits of it, also it’s a great way to keep up with the events inside the offic and to share hobbies with coworkers in a more easy going vibe.

Cons

I believe it needs a tutorial or some sort of guidance of how to use it, I got the hang of it because I use Facebook, but I still don’t understand lots of things and would like to know to to fully use it. Also it would be amazing if I could share some posts of my Facebook account on workplace, like managing one account with different outlets instead of two accounts.

Good for large companies, but not for small companies

Pros

I like how you can easily access all of your coworkers on one page and contact them if you need to talk to them about something relating to work, and group conference calls. It also allows for all of your co-workers to be on the same page about the current events going on in the company which I found was a huge plus.

Cons

I used this about a year ago and the thing I liked least is that this isn't built for small workplaces. This is more built for larger corporations almost which rendered it almost useless to a smaller workplace. If you are a smaller workplace, I think you would benefit from just having a facebook group or a facebook group chat instead of paying the fee that facebook wants per person.

Increase Company Productivity with Facebook

Pros

I am using the Standard edition of Facebook Workplace and i am satisfied with features and functions what i get from this.
Best thing creating groups here is its not limited to particular company or a business,it connects everyone and anyone can share anything here.
Communicating just got better with voice and video call functions, and have the ability to go workplace live like Facebook does is amazing to increase the productivity of my company.

Cons

none. Absolutely loved everything Workplace offers.

Workplace as an international communication tool

Workplace is a software that works well for our organization because of our specific inter-country requirements but I do not think it is the most effective communication platform that exists.

Pros

It is easy to access and free to use, which are its biggest perks in my eyes. Our organization works in two different countries so the accessibility piece (since everyone in both countries has access to Facebook and Workplace) make it well-suited to our needs. We have tried other communication software but Workplace is a nice option because much of our staff is already familiar with the Facebook-style interface.

Cons

I think the layout is not as intuitive as it could be. If you are familiar with Facebook it is easier to navigate, but the concept of open and private groups is confusing from the administrative side, especially when you are a larger organization like ours that has a hundred users.

Great internal communication tool that requires zero training

It's had a huge impact on our team culture. Now looking at integrating it with a recognition plugin.

Pros

Quick ramp up, easy to use, and an interface that everybody is familiar with. Apps are great. Pretty much has killed email internally (except when needed)

Cons

Wish that there was more ability to configure alerts

Facebook Workplace - do we really need a proprietary Facebook in the workplace?

Pros

If you are familiar with how the regular Facebook works, you'll have no problem with Workplace.

Cons

My last job invested in Workplace. Why? I'm not exactly sure. Perhaps some interesting conversations were started when stories or articles were shared, but I just kept wondering if Facebook charged them or Workplace, and if so, how much? We had satellite locations, but most of us were in one building. We were pretty well "connected" before Workplace.
