Zoho Projects is a cloud-based project management solution designed for small and midsize companies. It offers project scheduling and budgeting, which allows project managers to define project tasks, assign them to their teams, estimate project costs and follow up on in-progress tasks.

Zoho Projects automates document processes such as revision tracking, access control and search and retrieval. Other product features include document management, which provides a portal for sharing documents within the team members. Zoho Projects also offers issue management features, which help managers resolve errors in the project tasks.

Dashboards and reporting module helps users prepare business reports and management summaries. Users can use Gantt charts to get a visual presentation on the progress of tasks in comparison to what was planned. The resource allocation chart helps users know how many team members are free and how many are overloaded with tasks. Milestones and tasklists help users organize complex projects by breaking them into subtaks.

The professional way to work with the projects

Pros

That fact that you can easily switch here between different ways of assigning the tasks significantly increase the diversity of the work and give you more space to make your tasks more specific what in prospect helps to your employees understand everything much quicker and of course start doing this earlier. There are absolutely no difficulties with implementing the system in your working process, the interface is quite friendly and all the questions that may appear you can discuss with the supporting team, they are adequate people which answer to you immediately.

Cons

Our company has a specific field of activity and from time to time I, as a project manager need to share with my colleagues some unusual for the system, types of files and two times I could not upload them into the platform for some reasons and we had to use other services, but I already connected with the supporting team so it must be solved in no time.

Does exactly what we need without anything extra

It has simplified my task lists immensely. I don't have to have multiple tabs open to keep track of what needs to be worked on or to keep everyone updated. It makes a huge difference in my efficiency and productivity.

Pros

I love that I can add projects, break them down into subtasks, and assign them to specific people. With start and end dates, the ability to close things when they're complete, add descriptions and comments to keep everyone up to date, it's ideal.

Cons

As someone who likes things to be "pretty," this is a bit plain in nature. I would also like it if it was easier to transfer things from one list to another.

Zoho projects - Makes it so easy to manage your projects

I have tried another of similar products; MS Project (lack of collaboration), Basecamp (too expensive) and have found that Zoho offers all the functionality I need and some.

I couldn't live without it!

We've increased our productivity dramatically, been able to integrate our tasks with time tracking software and even bill our clients for extra time. Also, I sleep better at night because it's all organized.

Pros

I love that I can set deadlines set my own features /terms for progress - it's not a cookie cutter solution. I can assign tasks, to-do lists or entire projects to colleagues, and share internally and also external to my organization. I also love the mobile platform (app). It keeps me super organized, and helps me keep everyone else on my team organized too.

Cons

I wish there were a slightly lower price-point between the free version and the enterprise version, for small businesses like mine, but they do offer a good value! It's worth the $.

Professional services organization happy with Zoho Projects

Multiple departments (implementation, product development, project management) have discovered the value of a collaborative tool which supports project management rigor (WBS, % complete, Tasks-to-Task dependency, etc.). We have been able to displace many siloed resources internally, such as hosted spreadsheets and MS Access databases.

Pros

Provider-client collaboration. Zoho Project allows internal team members to easily coordinate activities across a complex WBS (work break-down structure) .AND. collaborate and delegate tasks that the customer's contacts are responsible for.

Cons

That all Tasks and TaskLists under a given Milestone automatically inherit the property of either internal- or external-facing. This often causes us to replicate the WBS - one copy under internal-facing Milestone(s), the other copy under external-facing Milestone(s).

Zoho Projects for collaboration

Not bad

Pros

If all the users systematically use the tool, it can work wonders in team collaboration and efficiency.

Cons

Even with enterprise version, its not possible to hide tasks based on user groups. this makes all tasks open to all types of users. Another limitation is, Admins by default will be in all groups. for large companies with different operations, it is required to make different admins for different projects.

A Comprehensive Project Management Platform

I have used a number of project management tools (Microsoft Project, Basecamp, Trello) and we are quite happy with Zoho Projects. We are a technology SaaS startup running distributed operations across the US and Caribbean. Zoho Projects allows us to collaborate and track progress on a myriad of tasks seamlessly. Highly recommended.

Zoho Projects offers a comprehensive suite of capabilities and allows a large distributed team to collaborate and manage a myriad of tasks.

Cons

The range of functions and capability means Zoho Projects does not have the ease of adoption of a Basecamp so there is more of a learning curve for you and your staff.

Zoho: The Easy Organization Tool

Our small team of programmers have been using Zoho Projects for a few months now. It is helpful in keeping track of who is working on what and the overall status of a project or fix. We have plans of eventually including our clients by allowing them to submit items and view pending issues. So far, our small steps to adjust to utilizing Zoho Projects in our everyday work is going very well!

Pros

I appreciate the ease of differentiating our various clients (we set them up as projects) each of which has its own tasks and issues. I also like that assigning tasks and issues, logging the time spent and marking the status of an item is simple.

Cons

Honestly, I haven't run into anything I would consider a major flaw or inconvenience. At first we had issues with the email services, but the support team helped us resolve our issues in a relatively timely manor.

The Ease of Use is a cinch!

Pros

The ease of use for Zoho was right out of the box.
It felt like putting Lego bricks together - simple but you get a sense that you're building something significantly complex.

Full of features, lacks stability

For our business, we decided to try Zoho for its' big number of features, and the task creation flexibility. Also, being able to pay for number of projects instead by number of users, was an important advantage for us.

Pros

Being able to create and organize tasks with flexible depth levels was the best feature which opens many different possibilities.
Integration with Zoho stack of products it's well worthy if you happen to use them.
The API, although a bit out of maintenance for some languages wrappers, does the job as intended.

Cons

Overall UI/UX was not very stable and easily understandable, which can drive collaborative users away.
