Easy and Efficient, Storage Management Solution
By using 6Storage I now have a up to date view of everything going on in the facility and where all my tenants are at. It's easy to manage payments and keep track of debt levels. Automatic invoicing and late fee application are highlights. The ability to email/sms clients from within the software makes debt management more efficient
Pros
It has streamlined all processes within the business. I like that it is cloud based allowing me access from anywhere. Being a New Zealand based business I am extremly happy with the level of support being provided.
Cons
There is not a lot that I don't like about it. Over the year that I have been using it I have mentioned a couple of items with the support team that would be helpful. They normally include these in the next release 1 to 2 months later
Reasons for Choosing 6Storage
I chose 6Storage for it's features and pricing. They even setup a custom website for me that was integrated into the storage software for online move-ins. Many of the features included in 6Storage would have been extra charges with some of the other options.
Reasons for Switching to 6Storage
The previous owner of the business was using Xero for management of the facility. This did not handle all processes and therefore many manual process were also used. I still use Xero but for the accounting side of the business only

Perfect solution for our needs
6Storage has an incredible customer service - available 24/7 by chat. They keep improving their software with new updates/new functions quite often. They have even implemented a few functions for us that we asked them to include - at no cost. We are looking forward to using 6storage for many years to come.

Great customer service, easy to use software.

No support for mobile (at least so far).
Reasons for Choosing 6Storage
One of their founders is Icelandic! And their software was reasonably priced, and had most functions we were looking for, so we ended up with 6Storage and we are happy we made this choice.

Overall the program helps us with our basic needs for managing our storage facilities.
Pros
We love the site map feature where we can see all of the units laid out. We like the way you can use the suspended lease feature to keep up with tenants we have blocked out of our units. We also like that chat feature on the website, and always having someone there when we need them is helpful. The move in process is helpful and easy to use. It also is good with calculating how much prorated rent a new move-in needs to pay. We do love the customer service that we have been given.
Cons
There are several changes we would like to see made to better help us manage our storage facilities. In the Statements for each tenant, we would like payments and invoices to be organized by dates instead of "Invoice numbers." The system the way it is now, is extremely difficult not only for our company to follow, but tenants who come in requesting to view their statements have a hard time following it as well. The most recent payment we would like to be at the very top, of the statement, and then everything older is under it. Revenue reports groups the revenue by Buildings and Payment Dates, which is confusing for us when we try to reconcile when we make a deposit. The way it is now, when we pull a deposit, it only gives us the total amounts for each building, it does not specify who those people are that have paid that money. We need a report that shows us individual tenant's payments, something similar to the Daily Payment Report but in a list form that shows who the tenant is, their unit #, and the payment amount made. It doesn't need to show what their rent amount is, we just need to know how much they have paid. Being able to have all of those people on one list, would help us tremendously to reconcile each deposit. We also would like the Revenue Report to show after the Amount column to break the amount paid down into "Rent" and into "Late fees." Instead of us having to figure up from that amount what we keep we would like for that to be included for us.

Highly impressed with this software.
I set up 6 Storage for my client who owns the storage rental. I wasn't sure how well it would work for my client but it has worked out well for him. The software has had very miner glitches and the support has made up for them.
Pros
6 Storage is an automated software that allows renters the ability to select the rental unit, set up their own accounts and pay all in one session. It automatically gives them a discount (set by the admin) if they select semi-annually or annually. A lease is created for each renter and requires a signature, which can be signed on the renter's phone. After a tenant moves out, the unit automatically becomes available for rent. The Site Map is clear and easy to see if a unit is available, rented, or pulled out of service. Past due accounts turn red. Invoice, receipt emails are sent automatically making the entire system easy for keeping track of all renters."Pro-Rated" payment on the first month is another great feature that allows the admin to set up all rent due on the first of the month. As an admin working with software companies, it is critical to have support. I have been working in the website business for 20 years and have never had the quality of service that I get from 6 Storage. From the beginning, I was assigned to [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] as my Client Relations Manager. He has been amazing. Every time I have had an issue I just call him and he not only explains how to do what I need done but takes care of it for me. He has made personal calls to me to check up on how things are going and offers suggestions to make things work smoother. I have really appreciated his care and concern for my success as I manage [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] for [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], the owner of the business.
Cons
6 Storage is still developing the software. It does not currently offer a simple "Refund" button that returns funds to the renter. Refunds can be given in the software but the funds needs to be manually returned either by check or through the payment gateway that is used. 6 Storage is working on that feature. In the U.S., Paypal is the most commonly used payment gateway. 6 Storage does not offer Paypal as of yet. They are working on adding a company that offers multiple gateways. This will be appreciated.

He has been amazing. Every time I have had an issue I just call him and he not only explains how to do what I need done but takes care of it for me. He has made personal calls to me to check up on how things are going and offers suggestions to make things work smoother. Fantastic Support and Product
We now have the ability to text and email all or selected customers at will. We have a link off our web site that allows customers to check which units we have available and for them to reserve or book online. Our customers can now go onto their own portal and check their details and pay bills. I must say that 6Storage Chat support and backroom support has been superb. I know that we must have been one of the most awkward companies they have taken on but 6Storage continue to answer questions and resolve issues 24/7. I urge anyone , from anywhere and any time to go onto their web site and click on Chat and ask a relevant question. It was this that sealed the deal for me. Other Storage Software programs that I quite liked meant I would have to wait until 4pm UK time to get answers and judging by how many times a day we were asking for help in the early stages I don't think it would have worked. Also the prices for 6Storage are excellent.
Pros
We love the automation. Once a customer is moved in and set up in 6storage the system completely takes over and invoices automatically. I set myself up as a customer on the Auto Pay feature and not only did I receive the automated invoices but then on the correct day I received a text thanking me for paying. It might be a small thing to others but this was a wow moment for me. We are busy trying to get as many of our customers as possible to use Auto Pay feature. We like the dashboard and find using the Site Map to find units and move people in is great. This software has too many great features to list them all. The support team are always there for you and it was this feature that swayed me to use 6Storage over their opposition.
Cons
This software works best when moving new customers in from scratch. It has been hard to try and adapt our long running business full of quirks and strange deals with long standing customers into the structured workings of 6Storage. This is more our fault than 6Storage's. They have bent over backwards to try and resolve issues we have had along the way. I would like to see them have a message box on invoices so that we can add things such as purchase order numbers or additional info. They have said they are working on this for us. We would also like integration with accounts programs such as Xero. They have said they are working on Quickbooks at the moment and Xero soon after.
Reasons for Choosing 6Storage
We chose 6Storage because of the ever present help and support. They had all of the features we wanted except for accounts software integration but they have assured me that will be with us within a couple of months. We are hoping for a link up with Xero after they have integrated with Quickbooks. Price wasn't the major factor but their very affordable price certainly ticked another box for us.
